This is definitely a project worth supporting. Bought the alpha with a hefty donation on top of it. Already through my first run. I have certainly been enjoying it!
Not watched it yet but at 8:30 when I saw Centurion with 5 attack in same shop that has weapon that deals damage to all enemies in room, I cringed in advance knowing Spear won't buy them together. Looking forward to cringe like that 5-6 times more by the end of video. We're eating well tonight :thumbsup: ! Forgive me Lord Spearmintz, you have in fact taken awesome weapon, that stuns all enemies in the room on the kill, allowing for stun locks in big rooms against low tier enemies. What a masterful move by your part. Oh no... wait... 34:12 ... He forgot... despite stun particles above their heads... And he forgot he has augment that deals massive damage upon boarding in room... Oh no... Truly, we eating good today :D
@@tzaphkielconficturus7136 I hope you aren't, because my comment got quite long 😆 I wouldn't call it that. Person that's allergic to reading probably wouldn't read nor enjoy all the flavor text. What he's allergic to, in my opinion, is constant list style bottom up check up. My brain works like this: -I have tool A (let's say psychic power or augment on ship) -I have tool B (different starting thing) -I concoct a gameplan. This is something he does too on very start of the game too. However, once the run gets more complex and you have 7-10 different tools, my brain still goes over every single one in list style order any time I'd get a choice to diverge my set up (be it event or a shop). He doesn't though, and gets lost in the sauce rather quickly. Same way for psychic spells, I was malding seeing him play the Witch, because while he has habit or staggering his gun hits for shields, it takes me no effort to shift into treating my psycher as "another weapon", looking at their CD constantly and using it over and over again. He on the other hand didn't use the blood missile for sometimes even half a sector, and even when he did, he'd do it one or two times in combat and then forget about it again. Meanwhile I'm type of a player that once their ships can't damage me, I'd 100% just spam blood missile to kill the crew, even if I don't have boarding. Granted it's rather tedious and annoying, but in YT form he could either yap while shooting (which he already does lmao) or simply edit it, cutting couple of minutes so we don't get bored. Bottom line is, I don't think reading is the issue, I think multitasking is. Bro would be horrid in MOBA or RTS with that skill set 😆I can already envision him as a perma stuck gold player who pretty much never looks at mini map. I've coached people like that, despite being high in IQ and education, guys whose brains fry once they have to constantly monitor 7+ different abilities/situations/information.
The Rebels used an advanced A.i to help take over the galaxy with their mothership and did not know it was the men of Iron they helped. We are trying to save what is left of the galaxy. (This is made up. I never played this game, but I am going to now!) I bought it off the website that made Void War and can't wait for it for steam for people to mod it.
Krom, also reminds me of the Cimmerian god, Crom, from the Conan the Barbarian universe. It can honestly go either way, between Crom and Khorne, so that's a nice choice, if it was deliberate.
I noticed earlier during the run there was a Psyker power for sale called Rejuvenate, could be cast twice per jump location but would really help in the harder fights where you need to heal your boarding crew.

I hope to see a psyker run. A bit disappointed that you ended your run with 2 unused spellbooks in your inventory and never even considered replacing the demonhound spell with something stronger. Also, you never used the potion of demon-summoning either.
Im glad this game is a thing I had an itch for ftl but with it being kinda outdated it hard to play but thank god I saw this video and the 2 others ones I bought the game almost instantly keep making these dog very entertaining 😁
i'm making this comment early in the video, so sorry if so I noticed you have issues with demon ships repairing their ships as fast as you damage them, if you break the demon heart they lose auto repair and suffer the effects of losing their helm. Given damon ship often have no crew who can repair, once the heart breaks they won't be able to fix it. edit: ok so i got to the demon scout fight, guess the heart fixes itself. So i guess breaking it it just meant to slow down the healing.
It should still be your number 1 priority target. Once it's down it has to fix itself first, and while it does it's ability to dodge is nullified or diminished. At that point, you keep hammering it and other systems as you see fit. Beats endlessly missing most shots going for other systems, playing into the enemy's strength.
This game is crazy, although seems like balance is a bit off (or you're just too good in it...) but the UI is a bit... unclear, everything looks same-y, too much grey maybe? Still, awesome to see an FTL clone with own twists! Thanks for the videos!
at the end of video, he is playing on default difficult and the game... has that slay the spire ascension level system. so i imagine max ascension is about same difficult as FTL hard mode. overall, the game feels very boarding oriented. with so much crew and customization towards crew and some of those systems... like spawning of demons, summoning from your own crew, i feel like the gameplay will mostly be boarding focused.
Crew taking damage from weapons in FTL actually annoyed me. Unless the room was obliterated odds are the crew should be safe. I think ive seen the crew in this game take damage sometimes so its probably a low chance to happen. Crew taking damage from ship weapons basically forced how the medbay worked in FTL. You NEEDED a way to heal rapidly mid-combat sometimes.
Your weapons do damage to emeny crew its just a small amount of damage. A -1 or -2 appears over their head when hit. Doesn't seem like the beam does crew damage tho.
There's something indescribably infuriating watching him hoard three over three hundred scrap and refuse to upgrade his weapons pips or reactor output.
James Workshop can try but as long as no marketable trademark is used or a space marine looking unit is introduced (with all of the defining characteristic of a Space Marine), they're in the clear.
Please make this a longer series! Would love to see all the diffrent ships that can be unlocked, and what interesting tactics this game has
