I highly recommend lavender which is calming for the skin and frankincense bc it is great for healing skin issues. Together the two are amazing and can tackle a multitude of skin problems.
Thank you for creating this peaceful and simple diy. I have never been good at taking care of me and I intend to change that. You video is the first one I came across and I don’t think I can venture away. This was so calming and gentle and serene. Exactly what my nervous system needed along with the how to. ❤

( i have been through chemo and did cause havoc on my skin) Thank you so much for your beautiful videos . Could you suggest affordable options for moisturizers that we can use after or when not oiling ? Sorry for all the questions 🌷🌷🌷
Great video. I’m 50 and I’m impressed at how accurate your information is. Bravo to you for being factual to your audience. It speaks volumes about you. ❤ May I suggest an Amber or blue bottle as light degrades certain oils and essential oils. Best to be on safe side and use dark containers when you’re putting such love and care into your skin. If you believe in this sort of thing, place an aquamarine crystal or stone where you care for your skin and its natural energy gives you protection and youth. Again thank you for your accurate information and I’ve liked and subscribed and sent my teenage daughters your channel to subscribe too. ❤
Great video - I’ve been using store bought oil cleansers for a year now and would like to start making my own. The chart in your video is very helpful. Thanks for sharing 😊
Thanks so much for your feedback! I wanted to be as thorough as possible and make figuring out a unique oil blend for each persons skin type as easy as possible 😅
thanks for this video. Just made my blend and I love it. Was buying a nice product, small batch company, but the price point was a bit steep. I improved the cleansing oil with your formula and it rocks!
I love this thank you. Can't wait to make one. I buy one similar to all these ingredients but I'd love to find the perfect blend for myself and start a new little project.
Personally I have found oil cleansing works best when you dampen your face first. I love using ACV as toner too, although I mostly just use it when broken out since with oil cleansing you don't have to worry about returning your face to proper PH.
No way, you too? I thought I am the only one here feeling so right about cleansing my face first with lukewarm water before the oil cleansing method. Whenever I try skipping straight into the OCL it breaks out on my T-zone from my combination skin. Which is weird because nobody has ever told me something like this before despite I use only jojoba oil. I tried castor oil + jojoba as well but breaking out means breaking out no matter what oil
@@ayananosimilo954 ok, so I switched to honey cleansing a week ago as my skin doesn't consent the bare, pure oils on my face. It reacts and breakouts badly despite any of the oils I'd used. But it does still work for my face scrub, I added coconut oil, lime/lemon, sugar and honey for face scrub and for the cleansing method I use honey + pure aloe vera gel, that's it. Honey alone can work wonder for the cleansing, additionally I find it a little cheaper than the cleansing oil price. Anyways since my skin has been experimented badly so I had to add aloe vera in the honey blend therefore it can heal faster. You can try jojoba oil on your face first if it doesn't work then stop, nothing will work even when proceeding in persist trying another oil types. Switch to honey like me maybe your skin just has its own personality and it doesn't like oily things
You should massage it in to your skin for about 60 secs minimum for best result and then use a warm wash rags to help it penetrate and remove the oil. You can wipe away after that gently and then can re wet it with warm water and rinse again if you need to.
Thank you for this and love it the mention of using cotton rounds. I use living libations seabuckthorn and absolutely love it. I also use their hemp cloths but found it too irritating. Will try out the cotton rounds this time!
Thank you for all this great information! I first learned of this cleansing method from the company Jade Bloom with some really luxurious bamboo cloths. They suggest the very same steps that you did here. I love your explanation on the oils to use! Thanks!!
THANK YOU so much for this!! I want to cleanse with oils only, as my skin is on the dry side and very sensitive. This is a wonderful formula, I so appreciate this :)

Can you please add links for where you buy your high quality oils? Thanks! Not only is it hard to find good oils but then to also make sure the company selling is not selling lookalikes/knockoffs. It is not easy!
Hello. Can we use watermelon seed oil as the core cleansing oil instead of castor or coconut oil? Also, can you please provide a link on the coconut oil that you would recommend to use? Thank you
I have sensitive skin and I will definitely skip adding essential oils, what percentage should I use in the formulation for cleansing oil, core oil and specialty oil?
Hi! I’ve actually reused my bottle from a store bought oil cleanser. Thank you so much by the way, this made my day 💕 I did find a similar bottle on amazon: www.amazon.com/30ml-Frosted-Glass-Pump-Bottles/dp/B07TXPRLPK?th=1&psc=1
Hi I’d like to try the coconut oil version but I’m concerned it will just go solid in the bottle when it cools down do u live in a constantly hot country? Or do the other oils prevent it from going solid? Thanks
Hi there! Great question, I was so worried about this when I first started using castor oil on my face while oil cleansing. I’m happy to report that there is no difference in my facial hair growth in the span of 3.5 years of using this method :)
Hi! So if you're not taking off makeup do you apply oil before the steaming cloth? I noticed you didn't apply more oil in the video after you removed it all with the cotton round.
Pamela Schmitt yes definitely apply oil before the steaming cloth, it’s actually ideal to massage the oil into your skin for about a minute to really get it into your pores. I usually do add more oil before using the steaming cloth even if I do remove my makeup with the oil cleanser first. I must have either forgot in the hastiness of trying to finish this video before the sun went down (hence the slight graininess in the video lol) or I forgot to add that clip in 🙈
Sorry to get back to you so late, I usually only do oil cleansing at night after removing my makeup and then in the morning I spray toner and rub it evenly on my face and then apply some moisturizing oil while my face is still damp. If I didn’t wear makeup that day I usually just use moisturizer and toner at night and oil cleanse the next morning!
Yes though best for cleansing would be the number one castor oil, number two coconut oil... Castor oil + grapeseed oil are a great combination. Mine is castor oil + jojoba for the combination skin, I couldn't use coconut oil since my face doesn't accept it but only body.
@@RenegadeBeauty it has been 3 days since I started but I do it twice the morning and I night too. There's no significant result but my skin is really soft not oily at all and my acne scars are getting better. So I'll continue. I'm using jojoba and black seed oil for washing my face
I usually reference the expiry date on each of the oils that I put in. They should all have an expiry date on the label. If you store your oil cleanser out of the sun/light and keep it sealed when not in use it should last quite some time, I’ve never had any rancid smells or other indications they’ve gone off. The longest I’ve had them stored before I’ve used it up is a year and a half

Oh dear! That’s very concerning for sure, are you using just almond oil in your oil cleanser? I would recommending switching to Jojoba oil because it’s the closest to the oil your own skin produces. Also are you positive the almond oil is cold pressed and not extracted through a chemical process? I always buy oils in glass bottles that are tinted as well to ensure the quality is preserved. Oil quality makes a huge difference but if this is not the case, there are small amounts of people who have a sensitivity to almond oil.
@@RenegadeBeauty dear mine came in plastic bottle as i bought from Urban botanics ...so am confused now whether to use it again or not even as facial oil 😭😭
I make all of my oil cleansers with the highest quality organic ingredients that are non-comedogenic. The coconut oil that I use is very pure, raw, organic and virgin which vastly differs from the fractionated oil so commonly used. This coconut oil is not clogging to pores. It is an integral part of the formula for skin health. There seems to be only one recent study on coconut oil and comedones. In 1989, a researcher used rabbit ears assay to test a range of common cosmetic ingredients and rated them for comedones on a scale of 0-5. Coconut oil was a 4 when applied undiluted for 2 weeks. This report was published in the Journal of American Academy of Dermatology. The bloggers who argue that coconut oil is comedogenic are referring to this one study. Rabbit ears assay is a standard practice because research ethics frowns on experimenting on humans. Human assays are rare and usually private (though these private tests do not show comedogenic issues with coconut oil). However, our faces are not rabbit ears and the coconut oil in the oil cleanser is diluted with other botanicals. Also, coconut oil is a potent antibacterial agent, which is anti-acne. In 2008, the journal Dermatitis published studies on the positive use of virgin coconut oil to treat skin with atopic dermatitis which is readily infected by Staphylococcus aureus because it is emollient and antibacterial. Other studies have demonstrated how healing coconut oil is to wounds for the same reasons. The FDA does not maintain a list of non/comedogenic cosmetic ingredients and there aren't standardized tests to determine if a product is comedogenic. So, claims that ingredients are or are not comedogenic have limited usefulness. For years I have studied skin and plant oils and combed over hundreds of reviews and comments about how high quality coconut oil mixed with other high quality oils (that I mention in this video) help their skin and helped many clear tenacious acne issues. This is the best evidence that high quality, authentic, organic, virgin coconut oil used wisely and well contributes to healthy, smooth skin. However, every person's skin is different, if you prefer a formula without coconut oil, castor oil is another great option. I highly recommend trying coconut oil out though and seeing how your skin tolerates it.
You're right, it's actually from your face if it wants to accept the oils or not. Despite being non-cosmedic it is still your face choice. Some is allergic to jojoba, Castor, anything oil possibly so the best we can so is to buy a small amount of every single suitable oils first and then check them each day. Your face feels what it means, rash and breakouts mean it doesn't work. Otherwise soft and comfortable... Experiment on your face by using only one oil each day to catch a feel, which one feeling better is most likely the best for your skin and the unused ones can be either cooked or do something else, needing to be looked up for
Haha! This is me as well, which why I also take season into account and I love to incorporate anti acne oils. I don’t get much acne but I think it’s good to stay on guard for it 😂

Be careful with coconut oil as it does clog pores.
If you keep rubbing ypu eyes like that you will get lots of wrinkles. The skin around your eyes is very delicate and should not be rubbed and pulled.
Does the ratio matter?
