My take is very simple: Makorra had been planned from day 1, and even though the two broke up at the end of Book 2, there were plenty of hints on both sides in Book 3, and definitely hints from Mako in Book 4. When you look at it, they were rushed in Book 1, and in Book 2, it showed that the two were total opposites. Korra was "in your face" 24/7, while Mako would try to avoid conflict, only creating more conflict, until he couldn't any longer, resulting in their breakup. Furthermore, their own jobs came between them as well. In Book 3, there were several instances of the two showing concern for one another, while also communicating more effectively their thoughts and emotions, where they failed in Book 2. In Book 4, the two were practically balanced for one another. Mako had learned to express his thoughts and concerns to his loved ones, while Korra had learned to listen and take people's opinions into consideration. They both matured, and had they reunited, I would have been okay with that, because it was the story of a couple that found balance with each other. Korrasami: My problem with is that a lot of the actions could easily be intrepreted it as platonic. No, holding someone's hand when they are depressed, wheelchair bound, and totally destroyed is not romantic in whatever sense. It's called being a good friend. Korra wrote Asami ONE letter ("I'm sorry it took me two years to write back..." - Korra). Korra blushed from Asami's compliment, but when has Korra ever taken compliments of beauty easily? After that, Asami disappeared from Korra until the end. It was poorly done and poorly executed. I'm all about political ideas and representations being thrown into the story. However, it has to come naturally and organically. If sending a "message" ruins the story in the process, well I'm sorry, but that "message" can go kick rocks. I don't want the quality of the show to drop, because a writer wants to throw his own personal beliefs in a forceful way.

I stopped being a fan of Makorra after season 2 'cause I thought they didn't suit each other, especially with Korra's PMS attitude. But reading your comment you just opened my eyes. God this is just what I needed. I was so disappointed with the whole Korrasami thing and it's so beautiful to see that someone still ships my favorite ship Makorra! The line, "fall back in love eventually" just hurts my heart. I watched the show for Korrasami. But I kept watching for Makorra. I knew how it was going to end, and I was thinking that time would pass and I would start shipping the two girls like everyone else seemed to, but I just couldn't, and I still can't. Makorra was real, it was real since the beginning, and it was real until the end, even if they didn't fall back in love eventually.
+Destinee Night I wish if they were going to put Korra and Asami together that they didn't even make Korra have a relationship with Mako, and just focused more on Asami and Korra, show their friendship evolve to love throughout the seasons on screen more.
Honestly, I don't think Mako and Korra were compatible in any sense, so I don't mind they didn't get back together. I definitely think Korrasami needed better development, though. Honestly, I wish Korra had stayed single.

Reasons why I don't ship Korrasami: 1) I shipped Makorra for so long before hand and still do. 2) The Korrasami ship felt so poorly written and thrown together. 3) They fought over the same guy in the first season for God's sake. 4) WOMEN GO ON VACATIONS TOGETHER. IT'S NORMAL. Reasons I ship Makorra: 1) They have an actual obvious romantic connection. 2) Mako and Korra are two strong people who can depend on each other. 3) Despite their break up, Mako and Korra were able to mature and had the possibility of becoming a stable couple again. Mako was constantly saying though out this last season how much he respects, admires, and cares about her. I seriously thought the writers were hinting at them making up!

Years ago when I heard about a new avatar show that was in the making, I read somewhere that it would be a short show with just one season, "don't expect a lot " when I watched the first 4 episodes of book 1 I was so excited, but they ruined everything. They even killed Amon for no reason. That villain had so much potential, they could easily make more seasons with him. They could make Amon's story more interesting, maybe it would change something if he was at the same age as Korra. Anyways when it comes to romance in LOK it really sucks, nothing makes any sense, I really liked Korra with Mako and in the last episode of season 1 you could definitely see how much Mako loved her, but then after season 1 BAM everything ruined. The creators of the avatar series are definitely talented, but they made some really big mistakes with Korra. Btw, this is just my opinion guys, please don't get offended by it.

redd iam not homophobic. But Makkora had more back story than Korrasami. I would ship them if they were made any sense. But for me it was too random. I think the LGBt community deserve a better storyline. After they droped Makkroa they shoul have started to serioulsy build up Korrasami. Adding up to the emotional hell I'm currently in. Beautiful btw but so much pain in the feels. I feel horribly betrayed, sad, angry, numb. How could they do this to such a huge part of the fandom. If they wouldve at least settled with single option to keep things open and possible. But now, against all the logic, they bowed to one specific part of the community, officially friendzoning Mako and creating a canon even the Korrasami shippers didn't really believe in. This is so wrong . Everytime I watch that heartwarming moments of Book 1 and 2 that are shown in this video too, the romantic interaction between those two - Its perfect. They just fit, they balance each other out, add up to each other. Korrasami on the other hand seems to be made up in one episode and came out of nowhere to hit our feels right where it hurts and let us fall down where it is deepest. She isn't even much more than a side character. FUCK. They are friends goddamnit. How could that happen? I'm getting emotional again. Need to raise that stoicism shield back up. I'm done for. Its too hard to take. Book 1 is now the only canon I acknowledge. EDIT: 3 weeks later. Now that stuff was the initial reaction and does not longer portait my feelings and opinion. I'm in some other stage now. I don't know if it is the final one. Makorra will never end. As long as they are alive, the possibility remains and so does the hope.
Dar Skirata I feel like they still left it open. Them holding hands and going on a trip proves nothing. Best friends [girls mainly] hold hands all the time. They are good friends. Mako and Korra have too much history, chemistry and strength within their bond to simply throw it all away. They spent the entire show building them up. So, don't feel betrayed. The creators wanted to leave it on an open note for everyone, including the korrasami shippers. and hey, maybe like with the last airbender they can wrap things up for us completely in a manga/comic thing like they did with Zuko.

I know that BFF theory is preached by all Makorrians over tumblr and facebook atm, but, as much as I want to believe it, I think, the way the scene was set up - this theory is more likely wishful thinking and denial, and that is not healthy. A real soldier knows when he has lost a fight and accepts his defeat. Though of course not everything is lost. We just have to rebuild the ship from another zero point.
You say there was no build up. But the hints we have presented: spending more time with each other, writing to each other, blushing, Mako saying "What's going on between you two?" I always thought that the Korrasami guys overestimate some things there. In fact, I evaluated "hints" like the letter story as a proof for the BFF theory, that I'm more and more making myself believe now, a little bit contrary to my former posts, I know :P Anyway, I don't doubt some truly believed in it because they wished for it, just like we believed in our OTP. But that "assumption" I made was based on observation while talking and listening to parts of the fandom. Maybe I got the wrong impression. But that was the impression I got. In the end, I was overreacting a little in my opening post, I respect the other ships but also don't think mine is completely sunken yet. I accept the defeat for now, but one gotta keep the hopes up.

Lulexiaa There are rumors about that the whole, lets call it "intimacy" in the end was a last minute change that has been made, and the "original" cut showed them as clearly only two BFFs going on vacation. I think in the end it doesn't matter at all, Korrasami fans would still, with less legitimacy but still more than Makorrians, claim victory. I think if it there was a change, it was to gain media attention. Its not unlikely. The whole LGBT topic has never been mentioned or handled in four seasons and then was brought up during litteraly the last second, obviously to add a new message of tolerance to the show so that the internet and liberal media would go crazy about it and hype it over everything. Which, appearently, happened. The sad thing is, this message, added in without basis, without any build up or word said on it, overshadows now all the other messages of the show, ignoring the amazing way it displayed political problems, ideologys, topics like PTSD, depression, spirituality, selflessness and the list goes on. All forgotten, because hey, we have got our media attention for the remarkable history we've made by implying that gay couples are ok within a kids show.
actually not they didn't they started bringing korra and asami together in the third season. i have nothing against makorra but after season 2 the 2 of them became distant to eachother and thats when she started spending more time with asami. even in season 4 they built up the relationship between korra and asami. sure she never came out and said i love you to asami but same sex couples are still controversial in todays media.

Well, I finally got around to the LOK series... It's funny because I heard that Korra fell in love with a girl before I started watching. I thought it would be a cool direction, but seeing the execution of it was another thing entirely. Even though Mako and Korra had a rocky start, I found myself rooting for them even though I knew what the end would be. I didn't know what girl it was that was going to fall in love with Korra, and I was thinking maybe she meets someone in the Earth Kingdom or something, lol. As it got closer to the end of the series, and through the power of deduction, I realized it had to be Asami. Even so, I was still confused and thought maybe she forgives/bonds with Kuvira, lol. Nope, It ends up being Asami. I've seen fans of Korra and Asami call people homophobic who don't like the ending, but I don't think that's the case with everyone (not the case with me). It kind of felt like despite everything Korra and Mako loved each other, and that last conversation they had where he said he would follow her anywhere really made me feel like that bond was still there. It seemed like a big reason the writers wanted Asami and Korra to be together was because of their friends/family/fans that are a part of the LGBT community. It seems like it really has made some feel less alone/more accepted, but I don't think it was the best thing for this story from the way they set things up. I also think it was a bad idea to have Korra date everyone on Team Avatar. I think a Mako and Korra ending would have been epic, even Korra alone just embracing her connection to the spirit world would have been good. I don't think the ending was horrible, it just wasn't as good as it could have been.
I am literally crying right now because of this. Why didn't Makorra become canon after all the buildup in the past 2 seasons? Bryke just had to succumb to the side of the fandom who dissed LOK for the first 2 seasons, the people who call anyone who still ships Makorra homophobic (this has happened to a lot of us on tumblr). If both Asami and Korrasami were more developed and well-written, I would have been a bit more open to it, but the writers never really took any opportunities. Thanks for making this so I can drown in my shipping feels :)

Korrasami is official I didn't like this season tho it felt rushed I was just excited to see toph. It was rushed when Lin just forgave toph it was rushed with bolin rushed with korra in general she didn't even go avatar state on kuvira and the creators were forced into that ending the original was makorra but the fans were like no so they changed it
Okay makorra is actually still a top ship and korrasami is popular and loved but its also the most hated most korrasami shippers were female girls and crack shippers so when they saw that ending they were suprised to see them end up together someone who worked on the legend of korra also said that the final scene with asami and korra wasn't there originally and before season 3 started there was a post saying korra would not end up with anyone at the end of the show there's also another scene where bolin rescues some prisoners of kuvira one being a fire bender with makos original design and the other being a water bender with one of korras original designs
StalkerYandere MAKORRA is a top ship, and I've heard that too (about the original final scene) even though they confirmed Korrasami it's still a huge failure!!!!!
What kills me is that Makorra had so much potential to the most amazing couple. When they first got together I admit it wasn't perfect but with three other season there should be no excuse that this couple be better develop. I love the lyrics. They give me hope that maybe Mako and Korra could get back together again. Beautiful AMV, by the way. My heart goes out to you, and to all Makorra shippers (I'm one too... sort of). I acknowledge the canonicity of Korrasami. And I acknowledge that Bryke had been building up to romance for them. *However.* I can only acknowledge this now that I know Bryke had liked Korrasami from the beginning. They just didn't know how to work it in during Book 1. Therefore, now I can see that all their scenes together in Books 3 & 4 were probably building up to this. But if I had never found out about how much Bryan liked Korrasami, then I would never have seen ANY of their scenes together as building towards romance. Because literally, almost every single scene Korra and Asami have together indicate merely friendship. They get closer and closer yeah, but that doesn't mean they would have ever ended up together if Bryke hadn't wanted to reach out to the LGBT community..... no matter how many scenes they had together. The only interaction between Korra and Asami which could legitely, objectively be seen as indicating lesbian romance were the letters and the blush. And even those were isolated/minor incidents separated by many episodes which could still be taken either way. Especially since they're both girls. Whether you like it or not, the fact that they're both girls rather than one of them being a boy, does make a difference. Because girls are just naturally more affectionate with each other. Most of the time, it doesn't indicate romantic feelings. I mean, I'm affectionate/close with my sisters. Does that mean I see them in a sexual way? God, No! Is it really OUR fault if we got the very badly shown messages mixed up??! So in that way, Mike and Bryan are to blame for the poor writing. If they hadn't recently said that they shipped Korrasami from the beginning, then I wouldn't be acknowledging that all their scenes together in the past 2 seasons have been building to romance. Because THEY LOOKED LIKE THEY WERE GONNA BE ONLY FRIENDS. And even if they couldn't make it too obvious, they shouldn't have gone on interviews and said that Mako and Korra were *"meant to be,"* or that no pairing was gonna be official, WHEN THEY KNEW ALL ALONG THAT THEY WANTED KORRASAMI!! Bad decision making, Bryke. You jerked along the Makorra fans merely b/c you didn't want to lose them. And they you just basically said *"F**K U" to them by the end.* That is uncool, Mike & Bryan.
I like the fact Korrasami happened... But my heart belongs to Makorra. Mako and Korra really did fall in love and care for one another deeply... It cannot be denied. Mako made mistakes, so did Korra... and Bolin and Asami. No one is perfect. Love this video.

I normally don't listen to this kind of music but I recently got the track Young Blood - Renholder Remix and listen to it at least once a day because its just the musical embodiement of Makorra for me now. Seriously amazing work. It just about sums up all of the Makorra feels. In my opinion Korrasami will not last, as the girls are just toxic for each other, and they don't have a romantic connection. I mean I shipped them for a little bit because I liked the idea of a bisexual couple, but never once was there an indication that the girls had any attraction towards each other besides when Asami compliments Korra's hair cut, and until the ending it would be impossible to guess that the ending would pan out this way. In my opinion, Korra eventually breaks up with Asami to focus on teaching a new generation of benders, and she becomes a member of the Southern Water tribe's government. After like 10 years away, Korra returns to republic city, and Mako is still single, and has become the chief of police, as Lin retired, and had Tenzin's kid, long story, and Asami is still running Future Industries. Eventually Korra and Mako reconcile, and live on Air Temple Island, and get married after a few years, and Korra gives birth to a new generation of air benders, and water benders, fire benders. Thats my canon. And yes I do ship Beifong and Tenzin, never really cared for Pema, so Lin has Tenzin's kid as Pema decides that she can't be with someone who still loves someone else. I know Lin is old, but it is fiction so I will allow it. Anyways, stunning video.

I'm a Korrasami, but this is so beautifully done. It's tragic too, knowing they might not rekindle things, I believe that makes it a bit more beautiful in a sense. We can have our disagreements, but let's not forget one thing: we were all somewhat deeply affected by this show and this franchise and shipping shouldn't tear us apart. Makorra and Korrasami are both plausible pairings, in my opinion. Either way, beautiful video. and song. and editing.

I still don't think it made sense to portray Korra and Asami together at the end and parallel them to Ang and Katara. They became good friends over the last two seasons, but there was nothing (other than one blush) that could be construed as romantic. Mako and Korra I think fit better. Yes they were explosive and may not have worked at first, but I think once they grew as people and gave it a second try, they would have made it...

Oh my fucking God, for a second there, having watched an LoK video before this one, I thought, "Well, yeah, I guess Korra and Asami really do fit each other." But YOU. My God, THIS VIDEO. ***** Asami was ready to give up her whole life to take care of Korra when she could have used money to find healers and etc. Not to mention all the struggle it took for her to get her company back and running and here she gives up on it like it was nothing. She also been taking care of Korra for weeks while Korra was at Air Temple, more than enough time to really get to know each other as well as enough time for Korra to start appreciating her. Friends don't make such massive sacrifices, trust me. Usually they would pop up now and then but not spend weeks by your side and more. Besides I recommend to watch a new film "Theory of Everything" where Stephen Hawking's first wife literally gave up all of her youth, future and time for him. His friends and family cared but none of them made sacrifices like that and film is based on true life story. So please stop saying that there was no build up. Not to mention that in season 4 it was obvious that they had special feelings for each other. Korra was bashful when Asami complimented her hair. She did not batt and eye when Ikki did the same before. Korra blushed when calling Asami snazzy aka stylish and attractive. She called Asami sweet, she never used terms like that before. It was all there, you just refuse to see it as one =/ Not to mention that it's not like Korrasami made out at the end. The scene is symbolic. Korrasami build foundation in the last 2 seasons and will take things further after the end credits. Only after end credits will they really explore their feelings for each other. Till that point you are not fully wrong by calling them friends but whatever happens afterwards won't be friendship any more and personally I hope that we will get comic books for that.

Nocktuk Daze sure korra was distent when being tooken care off by asami. wouldn't you when you are going through that? as someone who struggles with ptds everyday you don't share your feelings with people let alone someone you may want to get to know romanticly. also your point with her taking mako to face her inner deamons most people would take the person they trust the most their best friend. when she was going back to heal she just didn't turn down asami she turned down everyone. people going through hard times with try and do it by themselves and don't want to have to depend on anyone. This video is fantastic. It feels so wrong to watch the last episodes of book 4. One is because I feel betrayed, mostly because through book 1 and 2. I couldn't wait to see how Korra and Mako would grow as a couple. Guess I got punched in the face at the ending of book 2, but I still got these weird signal that they might get back together. It was in book 4 I saw a few hints that Korrasami, but I had to focus on finding those few clues.
It's like every person forgot about Mako x Korra. Like it never happened. They don't realize that these characters are not real. They could be a happy couple, but the creators ruined everything. Honestly I don't understand why people like LOK. It's too overrated. Don't get me wrong. It's not that bad, but it is definitely not a perfect show compared to ATLA. I think LOK could be a really amazing perfect show, especially season 1, the idea of a so called non bender becoming a villian is so good. Years ago when I heard about a new avatar show that was in the making, I read somewhere that it would be a short show with just one season, "don't expect a lot " when I watched the first 4 episodes of book 1 I was so excited, but they ruined everything. They even killed Amon for no reason. That villain had so much potential, they could easily make more seasons with him. They could make Amon's story more interesting, maybe it would change something if he was at the same age as Korra. Anyways when it comes to romance in LOK it really sucks, nothing makes any sense, I really liked Korra with Mako and in the last episode of season 1 you could definitely see how much Mako loved her, but then after season 1 BAM everything ruined. The creators of the avatar series are definitely talented, but they made some really big mistakes with Korra. Btw, this is just my opinion guys, please don't get offended by it.
My take is very simple: Makorra had been planned from day 1, and even though the two broke up at the end of Book 2, there were plenty of hints on both sides in Book 3, and definitely hints from Mako in Book 4. When you look at it, they were rushed in Book 1, and in Book 2, it showed that the two were total opposites. Korra was "in your face" 24/7, while Mako would try to avoid conflict, only creating more conflict, until he couldn't any longer, resulting in their breakup. Furthermore, their own jobs came between them as well. In Book 3, there were several instances of the two showing concern for one another, while also communicating more effectively their thoughts and emotions, where they failed in Book 2. In Book 4, the two were practically balanced for one another. Mako had learned to express his thoughts and concerns to his loved ones, while Korra had learned to listen and take people's opinions into consideration. They both matured, and had they reunited, I would have been okay with that, because it was the story of a couple that found balance with each other.
Korrasami: My problem with is that a lot of the actions could easily be intrepreted it as platonic. No, holding someone's hand when they are depressed, wheelchair bound, and totally destroyed is not romantic in whatever sense. It's called being a good friend. Korra wrote Asami ONE letter ("I'm sorry it took me two years to write back..." - Korra). Korra blushed from Asami's compliment, but when has Korra ever taken compliments of beauty easily? After that, Asami disappeared from Korra until the end. It was poorly done and poorly executed.
I'm all about political ideas and representations being thrown into the story. However, it has to come naturally and organically. If sending a "message" ruins the story in the process, well I'm sorry, but that "message" can go kick rocks. I don't want the quality of the show to drop, because a writer wants to throw his own personal beliefs in a forceful way.
Oh, my gosh, what you wrote was the most intelligent and beautiful thing I've ever come across. I knew how it was going to end, and I was thinking that time would pass and I would start shipping the two girls like everyone else seemed to, but I just couldn't, and I still can't. Makorra was real, it was real since the beginning, and it was real until the end, even if they didn't fall back in love eventually.

Adding up to the emotional hell I'm currently in. Beautiful btw but so much pain in the feels. I feel horribly betrayed, sad, angry, numb. How could they do this to such a huge part of the fandom. If they wouldve at least settled with single option to keep things open and possible. But now, against all the logic, they bowed to one specific part of the community, officially friendzoning Mako and creating a canon even the Korrasami shippers didn't really believe in. This is so wrong . Everytime I watch that heartwarming moments of Book 1 and 2 that are shown in this video too, the romantic interaction between those two - Its perfect. They just fit, they balance each other out, add up to each other. Korrasami on the other hand seems to be made up in one episode and came out of nowhere to hit our feels right where it hurts and let us fall down where it is deepest. She isn't even much more than a side character. FUCK. They are friends goddamnit. How could that happen? I'm getting emotional again. Need to raise that stoicism shield back up. I'm done for. Its too hard to take.

EDIT: 3 weeks later. Now that stuff was the initial reaction and does not longer portait my feelings and opinion. I'm in some other stage now. I don't know if it is the final one. Makorra will never end. As long as they are alive, the possibility remains and so does the hope.

Mako and Korra have too much history, chemistry and strength within their bond to simply throw it all away. They spent the entire show building them up. So, don't feel betrayed. The creators wanted to leave it on an open note for everyone, including the korrasami shippers. and hey, maybe like with the last airbender they can wrap things up for us completely in a manga/comic thing like they did with Zuko.

I know that BFF theory is preached by all Makorrians over tumblr and facebook atm, but, as much as I want to believe it, I think, the way the scene was set up - this theory is more likely wishful thinking and denial, and that is not healthy. A real soldier knows when he has lost a fight and accepts his defeat. Though of course not everything is lost. We just have to rebuild the ship from another zero point.

Those hints are all very ambiguous. There was a lot of room for interpretation. I always thought that the Korrasami guys overestimate some things there. In fact, I evaluated "hints" like the letter story as a proof for the BFF theory, that I'm more and more making myself believe now, a little bit contrary to my former posts, I know :P
Anyway, I don't doubt some truly believed in it because they wished for it, just like we believed in our OTP. But that "assumption" I made was based on observation while talking and listening to parts of the fandom. Maybe I got the wrong impression. But that was the impression I got.
In the end, I was overreacting a little in my opening post, I respect the other ships but also don't think mine is completely sunken yet. I accept the defeat for now, but one gotta keep the hopes up.

Lulexiaa There are rumors about that the whole, lets call it "intimacy" in the end was a last minute change that has been made, and the "original" cut showed them as clearly only two BFFs going on vacation. I think in the end it doesn't matter at all, Korrasami fans would still, with less legitimacy but still more than Makorrians, claim victory. I think if it there was a change, it was to gain media attention. Its not unlikely. The whole LGBT topic has never been mentioned or handled in four seasons and then was brought up during litteraly the last second, obviously to add a new message of tolerance to the show so that the internet and liberal media would go crazy about it and hype it over everything. Which, appearently, happened. The sad thing is, this message, added in without basis, without any build up or word said on it, overshadows now all the other messages of the show, ignoring the amazing way it displayed political problems, ideologys, topics like PTSD, depression, spirituality, selflessness and the list goes on. All forgotten, because hey, we have got our media attention for the remarkable history we've made by implying that gay couples are ok within a kids show.
I'm not against Korrasami, but I felt like they just kinda of dumped on us at the last minute.
actually not they didn't they started bringing korra and asami together in the third season. i have nothing against makorra but after season 2 the 2 of them became distant to eachother and thats when she started spending more time with asami. even in season 4 they built up the relationship between korra and asami. sure she never came out and said i love you to asami but same sex couples are still controversial in todays media.

Well, I finally got around to the LOK series... It's funny because I heard that Korra fell in love with a girl before I started watching. I thought it would be a cool direction, but seeing the execution of it was another thing entirely. Even though Mako and Korra had a rocky start, I found myself rooting for them even though I knew what the end would be. I didn't know what girl it was that was going to fall in love with Korra, and I was thinking maybe she meets someone in the Earth Kingdom or something, lol. As it got closer to the end of the series, and through the power of deduction, I realized it had to be Asami. Even so, I was still confused and thought maybe she forgives/bonds with Kuvira, lol. Nope, It ends up being Asami. I've seen fans of Korra and Asami call people homophobic who don't like the ending, but I don't think that's the case with everyone (not the case with me). It kind of felt like despite everything Korra and Mako loved each other, and that last conversation they had where he said he would follow her anywhere really made me feel like that bond was still there. It seemed like a big reason the writers wanted Asami and Korra to be together was because of their friends/family/fans that are a part of the LGBT community. It seems like it really has made some feel less alone/more accepted, but I don't think it was the best thing for this story from the way they set things up. I also think it was a bad idea to have Korra date everyone on Team Avatar. I think a Mako and Korra ending would have been epic, even Korra alone just embracing her connection to the spirit world would have been good. I don't think the ending was horrible, it just wasn't as good as it could have been.

I am literally crying right now because of this. Why didn't Makorra become canon after all the buildup in the past 2 seasons? Bryke just had to succumb to the side of the fandom who dissed LOK for the first 2 seasons, the people who call anyone who still ships Makorra homophobic (this has happened to a lot of us on tumblr). If both Asami and Korrasami were more developed and well-written, I would have been a bit more open to it, but the writers never really took any opportunities. Thanks for making this so I can drown in my shipping feels :)
its alright i still consider it open ended and here's why korrasami was out of the blue originally intended to be friendship and nothing more but i must say i lost abit of respect for bryle after reading that post cuz they think kataang was forced im thinking are they serious right now

They could be a happy couple, but the creators ruined everything. Honestly I don't understand why people like LOK. It's too overrated. Don't get me wrong. It's not that bad, but it is definitely not a perfect show compared to ATLA. I think LOK could be a really amazing perfect show, especially season 1, the idea of a so called non bender becoming a villian is so good. Years ago when I heard about a new avatar show that was in the making, I read somewhere that it would be a short show with just one season, "don't expect a lot " when I watched the first 4 episodes of book 1 I was so excited, but they ruined everything. They even killed Amon for no reason. That villain had so much potential, they could easily make more seasons with him. They could make Amon's story more interesting, maybe it would change something if he was at the same age as Korra. Anyways when it comes to romance in LOK it really sucks, nothing makes any sense, I really liked Korra with Mako and in the last episode of season 1 you could definitely see how much Mako loved her, but then after season 1 BAM everything ruined. The creators of the avatar series are definitely talented, but they made some really big mistakes with Korra. Btw, this is just my opinion guys, please don't get offended by it.
I feel like this represents Makorrra so well. Especially the line about "fall back in love eventually". It really makes you realize how much these two mean to each other, and how, if given the chance, I think they would end up back together.

Korrasami is official I didn't like this season tho it felt rushed I was just excited to see toph. It was rushed when Lin just forgave toph it was rushed with bolin rushed with korra in general she didn't even go avatar state on kuvira and the creators were forced into that ending the original was makorra but the fans were like no so they changed it
Okay makorra is actually still a top ship and korrasami is popular and loved but its also the most hated most korrasami shippers were female girls and crack shippers so when they saw that ending they were suprised to see them end up together someone who worked on the legend of korra also said that the final scene with asami and korra wasn't there originally and before season 3 started there was a post saying korra would not end up with anyone at the end of the show there's also another scene where bolin rescues some prisoners of kuvira one being a fire bender with makos original design and the other being a water bender with one of korras original designs

What kills me is that Makorra had so much potential to the most amazing couple. When they first got together I admit it wasn't perfect but with three other season there should be no excuse that this couple be better develop. But no Mike and Bryan threw them away for a half ass attempted to be " progressive". There is no comparison with Makorra then Korrasami. Not against Korrasami but come on this couple is meant for each other.

I love the lyrics. They give me hope that maybe Mako and Korra could get back together again. Beautiful AMV, by the way. My heart goes out to you, and to all Makorra shippers (I'm one too... sort of). I acknowledge the canonicity of Korrasami. And I acknowledge that Bryke had been building up to romance for them. *However.* I can only acknowledge this now that I know Bryke had liked Korrasami from the beginning. They just didn't know how to work it in during Book 1. Therefore, now I can see that all their scenes together in Books 3 & 4 were probably building up to this. But if I had never found out about how much Bryan liked Korrasami, then I would never have seen ANY of their scenes together as building towards romance. Because literally, almost every single scene Korra and Asami have together indicate merely friendship.
They get closer and closer yeah, but that doesn't mean they would have ever ended up together if Bryke hadn't wanted to reach out to the LGBT community..... no matter how many scenes they had together. The only interaction between Korra and Asami which could legitely, objectively be seen as indicating lesbian romance were the letters and the blush. And even those were isolated/minor incidents separated by many episodes which could still be taken either way. Especially since they're both girls. Whether you like it or not, the fact that they're both girls rather than one of them being a boy, does make a difference. Because girls are just naturally more affectionate with each other. Most of the time, it doesn't indicate romantic feelings. I mean, I'm affectionate/close with my sisters. Does that mean I see them in a sexual way? God, No! Is it really OUR fault if we got the very badly shown messages mixed up??! So in that way, Mike and Bryan are to blame for the poor writing. If they hadn't recently said that they shipped Korrasami from the beginning, then I wouldn't be acknowledging that all their scenes together in the past 2 seasons have been building to romance. Because THEY LOOKED LIKE THEY WERE GONNA BE ONLY FRIENDS. And even if they couldn't make it too obvious, they shouldn't have gone on interviews and said that Mako and Korra were *"meant to be,"* or that no pairing was gonna be official, WHEN THEY KNEW ALL ALONG THAT THEY WANTED KORRASAMI!! Bad decision making, Bryke. You jerked along the Makorra fans merely b/c you didn't want to lose them. And they you just basically said *"F**K U" to them by the end.* That is uncool, Mike & Bryan.

Seriously amazing work. It just about sums up all of the Makorra feels. In my opinion Korrasami will not last, as the girls are just toxic for each other, and they don't have a romantic connection. I mean I shipped them for a little bit because I liked the idea of a bisexual couple, but never once was there an indication that the girls had any attraction towards each other besides when Asami compliments Korra's hair cut, and until the ending it would be impossible to guess that the ending would pan out this way. In my opinion, Korra eventually breaks up with Asami to focus on teaching a new generation of benders, and she becomes a member of the Southern Water tribe's government. After like 10 years away, Korra returns to republic city, and Mako is still single, and has become the chief of police, as Lin retired, and had Tenzin's kid, long story, and Asami is still running Future Industries. Eventually Korra and Mako reconcile, and live on Air Temple Island, and get married after a few years, and Korra gives birth to a new generation of air benders, and water benders, fire benders. Thats my canon. And yes I do ship Beifong and Tenzin, never really cared for Pema, so Lin has Tenzin's kid as Pema decides that she can't be with someone who still loves someone else. I know Lin is old, but it is fiction so I will allow it. Anyways, stunning video.

I'm a Korrasami, but this is so beautifully done. It's tragic too, knowing they might not rekindle things, I believe that makes it a bit more beautiful in a sense.
We can have our disagreements, but let's not forget one thing: we were all somewhat deeply affected by this show and this franchise and shipping shouldn't tear us apart. Makorra and Korrasami are both plausible pairings, in my opinion.

I can't stop watching your video! It's so beautiful it hurts (what we could have had and all). I still don't think it made sense to portray Korra and Asami together at the end and parallel them to Ang and Katara. They became good friends over the last two seasons, but there was nothing (other than one blush) that could be construed as romantic. Mako and Korra I think fit better. Yes they were explosive and may not have worked at first, but I think once they grew as people and gave it a second try, they would have made it...

it's a lovely video love the editing. i never shipped makorra but that doesn't mean i would have been mad if had been canon like some people are about korrasami i really don't get it. how can you be betrayed when they built up to the final ship for 2 season? and bending to the community? don't people know that all the story was wrote before hand? they couldn't have just changed the ending thats not how shows work. they were working on season 4 while season 3 was going on for the most part.
well i do respect others peoples opinions i just don't think people should get mad at Bryke because they didn't get what they wanted. it just seems kind of childish to me. but also i'm not one of those people who's gonna go shove korrasami in your face either. yes i'm happy about the final scene kinda wish there was more. i find shipping wars in and of themselves to be childish. if you like a couple you like a couple and you can disagree with another ship but nobody should dis or drag another ship down because they don't like it. so you didn't get the makorra ending you wanted big whoop life goes and and we grow up. a show is a show and tho we may like it and it holds a place in our hearts we live in the real world and the show lives in a fake world life will go on the same as if it never was made.

***** Asami was ready to give up her whole life to take care of Korra when she could have used money to find healers and etc. Not to mention all the struggle it took for her to get her company back and running and here she gives up on it like it was nothing. She also been taking care of Korra for weeks while Korra was at Air Temple, more than enough time to really get to know each other as well as enough time for Korra to start appreciating her.
Friends don't make such massive sacrifices, trust me. Usually they would pop up now and then but not spend weeks by your side and more. Besides I recommend to watch a new film "Theory of Everything" where Stephen Hawking's first wife literally gave up all of her youth, future and time for him. His friends and family cared but none of them made sacrifices like that and film is based on true life story.
So please stop saying that there was no build up. Not to mention that in season 4 it was obvious that they had special feelings for each other. Korra was bashful when Asami complimented her hair. She did not batt and eye when Ikki did the same before. Korra blushed when calling Asami snazzy aka stylish and attractive. She called Asami sweet, she never used terms like that before.
It was all there, you just refuse to see it as one =/
Not to mention that it's not like Korrasami made out at the end. The scene is symbolic. Korrasami build foundation in the last 2 seasons and will take things further after the end credits. Only after end credits will they really explore their feelings for each other. Till that point you are not fully wrong by calling them friends but whatever happens afterwards won't be friendship any more and personally I hope that we will get comic books for that.

Nocktuk Daze sure korra was distent when being tooken care off by asami. wouldn't you when you are going through that? as someone who struggles with ptds everyday you don't share your feelings with people let alone someone you may want to get to know romanticly. also your point with her taking mako to face her inner deamons most people would take the person they trust the most their best friend. when she was going back to heal she just didn't turn down asami she turned down everyone. people going through hard times with try and do it by themselves and don't want to have to depend on anyone. I'm not saying any ship is better than the other in terms or romantic story plot. though korrasami was a better choice as canon in the end because both girls needed eachother. each ship represents a different type of love makorra is more of a young love blooming into an understanding bond of close friends that would do anything for eachother. as where korrasami may not have seen eye to eye at first after getting to know eachother and care for eachother they came to open up to eachother. as korra lost everything and had to rebuild her life asami was there for her and she only felt she could talk to asami as pointed out by the fact she only wrote asami while gone. she now to has the opportunity to do the same for asami after her father died. makorra is a relationship of adoration as where the relationship or korrasami is filling a missing piece

This video is fantastic. It feels so wrong to watch the last episodes of book 4. One is because I feel betrayed, mostly because through book 1 and 2. I couldn't wait to see how Korra and Mako would grow as a couple. Guess I got punched in the face at the ending of book 2, but I still got these weird signal that they might get back together. It was in book 4 I saw a few hints that Korrasami, but I had to focus on finding those few clues.

It's like every person forgot about Mako x Korra. Like it never happened. They don't realize that these characters are not real. They could be a happy couple, but the creators ruined everything. Honestly I don't understand why people like LOK. It's too overrated. Don't get me wrong. It's not that bad, but it is definitely not a perfect show compared to ATLA. I think LOK could be a really amazing perfect show, especially season 1, the idea of a so called non bender becoming a villian is so good. Years ago when I heard about a new avatar show that was in the making, I read somewhere that it would be a short show with just one season, "don't expect a lot " when I watched the first 4 episodes of book 1 I was so excited, but they ruined everything. They even killed Amon for no reason. That villain had so much potential, they could easily make more seasons with him. They could make Amon's story more interesting, maybe it would change something if he was at the same age as Korra. Anyways when it comes to romance in LOK it really sucks, nothing makes any sense, I really liked Korra with Mako and in the last episode of season 1 you could definitely see how much Mako loved her, but then after season 1 BAM everything ruined. The creators of the avatar series are definitely talented, but they made some really big mistakes with Korra. Btw, this is just my opinion guys, please don't get offended by it.
