Wow a video to home from officers quarters during flight operations, can’t get more real than that. Thank you for your service and hope you had a great time seeing your kids after your cruise.
I spent 3months exchange from the RN on the Nimitz early 80's amazing ship. Remember in Norfolk she was tied up alongside the jetty with HMS Ark Royal on the otherside. The Ark was very small in comparison.
I was a buck Sgt in the USAF during "Nam. On base I had my own room, AC, a refrigerator, a TV and a house girl to take care of everything including my laundry.
@@joeswoops6684 I was combat aircrew. I understand I was the highest paid buck Sgt in the USAF getting base pay, over seas pay, combat pay, flight pay and superior performance proficiency pay given to the top 1 percent in each AFSC. All TAX FREE.

8 bunks in a room? These must be bootcamp Ensign's having to share that much. Meanwhile, enlisted get bunks and storage 1/3 the size and in Air Department they will 150-250 roommates. Now let's talk about food and pay...

So what was the purpose of the exchange? and how would you compare your RN experience with that of the USN?

thank you for reply
he is a LTJG so he has roommates. I think Lieutenant commanders and above get the more luxurious quarters

theres nothing "luxurious" about any of the USS Nimitz sleeping quarters no matter whom you are
oh that’s cool they’re showing jada smith?
Where you at bro
anyone know who gets the biggest room on a carrier? and is there a video
Yes.
Quality.
You would figure for the price and size of an aircraft carrier, there would be better accommodations.
I was right under the bow cats. It sounded (AND FELT) like the bow was being ripped off on every shot. Kiss sleeping during flt. ops goodbye!
Must be really rough having stewards clean your room every day and make your bed for you
Can sailors have a guitar on the ship?
When he said "Hey Girls" at the beginning and im a guy. FeelsBadMan
I think this video was originally intended for his daughter(s)
He's an officer, and he has to sleep underneath where the fucking arresting gear is catching aircraft? How do you get any sleep, lol?

Landing deck???
+Tom Johnson Aircraft carrier. He's actually two decks below; what you hear is the arresting wire system operating.

love u too, bye
I couldn't sleep through landing aircraft
Much better than the shithole I was in while I was onboard ship.
Glad I joined the army instead of the navy.. lol.. I don't think I could live aboard a ship.. my dad is retired USN (E7)... I'm retired US Army..
It’s dark in there so when I sleep it’s dark in there.
Imagine how bad it would smell after a spicy dinner or beans ???
Must be in very rough seas...ship shaking around quite a bit...😄
LOL
never had a grown man have me refer to him as daddy but okay then
Looks fuckin grim if that's the best of it I'd hate to see the worst 😂😂😂
So all that crap in the movies where each pilots get a room to themselves lol
OMG!! The CCP now knows where the Officers Staterooms are located on the Nimitz!!
The video movement made me sea sick
It’s not a bed. It’s a rack.
Go Vikings
Not a bed , it is a Rack..
I know but as much about the officers quarters as I did 20 minutes ago. In other words nothing.
"Bed..." "Room..." Jeez and this is a 'Swabbie' officer ??? Whew.
Well the vid is for his kids...
Yea the vid is for his kids you can tell if you listen to the vid

I lived on a carrier for 7 years, this is nothing new
