When you become an animator drawing needs to become second nature, so you can really focus on making the animation amazing Or atleast thats what Richard Williams said in his book: The Animator's Survival Kit
I personally dont think hand-drawn animation was ever killed... just that the business people thought the money was going into CG animation so they ran to it but never realised that it was all in the narrative, characters and animators. Hand-drawn I would say is even more detailed and is truly timeless... you try drawing, inking, painting, then taking a picture of each frame lol. But you're right, they're both beautiful and mind-blowing in their own way.
I admire these people and aspire to be like them one day. I can draw, but not this well. and I don't think I ever will. its a big dream, not impossible, but pretty out of my reach. I hope people go into the theatres and appreciate the characters as much as the story :)
you should search free drawing cartoons lessons in google and there is a website i think its called cartoondrawing.org or something like that it is great you'll have the right website if it opens with a bio of the author.
An animator's drawings only need to be good enough that the drawings are clear and have correct proportions and perspective. The cleanup artists will add in all the little details and clean up the rawings.
It's too bad that computer animation just had to kill hand-drawn animation, because hand-drawn really gives you a feeling that CGI doesn't. Even though hand-drawn isn't as detailed as CGI, they're both beautiful and mind-blowing in their own way.
Well, close. Went to Cal. Adventures yesterday. The sketches were more detailed than actual movie scenes, and were $50-$75 on most of the sketches I saw.
Maybe it could be that they didn't like how the character turned out after drawing it, or the pencil is like a pen. (Meaning they don't press hard but the pencil makes a dark mark)
they make this look so easy. It looks like they are just writing
because art is a language 😉😌

Bruce Smith's a pretty funny dude
Heh heh.....this isn't an animation demonstration; it looks more like character designing. Nevertheless, it's awesome.
