I got to see this engine for myself just 3 weeks ago. It was a pretty great engine. Sure can’t wait for the day she’ll be back as LSRM does have plans to bring it back once 332’s time is up.
One fact that nobody pointed out was that the first day of that photo charter on the Wisconsin Great Northern railroad (the one shown with only 3 coaches being pulled behind 2719) was, in fact, September 10, 2001. The very next day, our country would never be the same again. Anyways, 2719 is an absolutely gorgeous locomotive. I hope one day that she steams again.
Before I saw this thumbnail, I thought it returned in service! By the way, they're just old footages. Anyways, 2719 is still awaiting an overhaul today.
What a great look back to Soo line 2719 I miss this 4-6-2 locomotive I’m glad to hear that she’s well cared for at her museum in Duluth, Minnesota
Mighty fine, Jeff Terry. One can never see enough run bys. That trestle scene in particular was indeed spectacular. Keep 2719 running forevermore.

Enjoyed watching the archive footage of Soo Line 2719 👍
