@VirtualParentalUnit - Those are huge cranes and they move slowly and carefully. So if one watches in real time for any period of time, it looks like they're moving in slow motion.
This is a great service you are providing for the Country. I would never get to see any of this in Kentucky without your efforts. Thank you for bringing this to us. 👍👍👏👏🇺🇲
Great work! I love watching the little yellow excavator with the hydraulic shear working to free the sections for the crane on the left pulling steel from the channel. He has to rely on the tug to move his barge around. Great team work.
Hello Richard . The little yellow excavator is a Komatsu PC 1250 and is actually quite large weighing 125 tons . But it is dwarfed by those huge cranes ! 😊
@@matthewschofield9330 Thanks for the info! I've worked on building demolition sites in Chicago. Supplying Bobcats with hydraulic hammers and grapple buckets to wrecking companies. Fascinating work, never a dull moment.
Wow a lot happened today, it fascinates me when you see the men cutting the steel just how tiny they are. It shows how huge this task is. And the "little" yellow cutter thingy helping the clam jaws looks for all the world like a dog chewing something when it's sped up. Thanks for doing this, it's really interesting, from Australia
These videos are amazing. The speeded up setting is perfect. I cant help but think of the little Dozer Fraggles that would be building things out of sugar. Thanks for providing us with these viideos. Love from Canada
Cannot even begin to understand or to appreciate all the complications the crews are experiencing. Wishing all of you God's speed going forward. Congratulations in making such good progress and without anyone else getting hurt.
Hi Andy, great vidio again today. I find the Dale Pyatt Dredge and amazing piece of equipment. A 60 yard clam bucket with a single line and lifting huge chucks of the bridge structure. It must have a massive winch and hoist cable.
Whoever is working that yellow piece of equipment that is nibbling away at road bed , handles it with such dexterity, it is an extension of his body and mind. Awesome to see. Bravo. I guess everyone on site is expert in such things. Very impressive.
23 hundred live views… 2.3 thousand likes… 23 thousand views…. 93 great comments… 23 million prayers… And it is still early in the evening…. Captain Andy…. YOU are amazing! 😃
Don't forget part of the support pillar beneath the 4 lanes of road bed on the fore deck of the Dali. That's a huge chunk of reinforced concrete. And it's still attached to the foundation with many, many strands of rebar.
The bridge section on the Dali is SO heavy, it has the Dali pressed against the bottom of the bay. Until that bridge section is removed & the Dali refloats, the Dali cannot pull out of there. !
At 4:20 minutes into the video--Dale Pyatt pulls up a MESS and the little yellow crab-claw crane ate away at it until it was able to be lifted from the water. AMAZING!
Hey Andy; For some reason the comment audio is very garbled and low VU on our Apple TV for the last few days. Thank GOD it sounds great on the iPad. Thank you for all that you do. Ken
Its Fri 11:33am in Baltimore. Don't expect too much today. It's overcast and a mist/sprinkle has been goin on all morning. They don't expect things to clear up too much this afternoon. Have a great day everyone.
Is it just me or does it look like we can see some of the areas where they've already implanted the demolition charges? On the upper left side of the main bridge truss that is lying on the ship, I can see a few spots with what looks like a dark wrapping around the girder, about where the diagram showed the charges would be placed. Four on the left, and one on the right, what I've been able to pick out so far. Edited to add: At 10:05 you can see them putting on another one, just up from the one already on the right. These are located not quite halfway down.
At 5:26, guys finished cutting through the steel so it could be lifted away by crane. I wonder if a similar technique will be used when shaped charges are used to cut away at those girders, cranes rigged to the large sections so they won't have to be dredged up after the detonations? Will be interesting to see either way.
@@MinorcanMullet Thank you for the explanation. Not experienced in any way of seafaring language. I can fumble my way through aviation lingo…a bit more challenging with sailors language.
My concern is for the hundreds of containers and their contents!! What happens to them? The goods in them have not been delivered on time, and is some cases have surely become contaminated ?? Will the contents simply be disposed of under insurance? Should be an interesting story to be told here!! Any takers?
I'm beginning to wonder if some of the viewers have older equipment that is not capable of receiving stereo sound or are set to mono. Too many have reported audio is perfect.
Wow.. the color and clarity of the video is outstanding Captain 👌
Unbelievable clarity! Speeding the video up really shows the work that's being done. Thank You Andy!

Capt. Andy, thank you so much for your time in showing what's going on in Baltimore. Here in NC, our media outlets seem to have forgotten about this.
Same here in VA.
Awesome video coverage Andy we thank you may the progress continue God bless all of the workers. Be safe out there
Thank you for showing the condensed version and for being out there to video it.
What an AWESOME video!!! Thank you!!! SO much going on to watch. I LOVE it!

Industrial ballet, expertly choreographed and performed! Stay safe; we can replace a bridge but we can't replace you!

What blows me away is... the size of the workers. They are like ants. The cranes and bridge debris are huge. The scale of this operation is enormous.
Thanks for these excellent videos.

The animation of the charges blowing, by USACE, shows them all falling into the water.
Sir, you may have said already but where is homeport for the "big claw"? GOD bless and keep all safe.
Texas
Just like being on scene
wondering if they will remove the road portion of the bridge here or move the boat back into port to do it??
Is there something along the bottom of the screen blocking the view of the water?
Is there a gravel road behind the scene What causes the periodic dust trail that zooms through the rear of the frame 11:48
Is May 10, Friday, the target date for demolition charges? Sorry if my question was answered in the video. I kind of fast forwarded.
Are they still removing the shipping containers from the ship?
At 4:00, is that a peaker or normal power plant? Anyone know?
The sound is missed up. Could you please fix it
It's a constant battle, but it was for the most part good today. Some found that by restarting the stream, it cleared right up
It looks like a lot of activities on the starboard side of the DALI.
Do you know the plans for the piers? I assume they will have to be completely removed or close to it.
I'm pretty sure you are correct. New construction will most likely mean a fresh support system as well
Dude . the whole world knows where this is at by now ,don't you think !
You would be surprised.
@@MinorcanMullet some people live under a rock .lol
How’s the eye?
So what happened with the work stoppage yesterday due to a gas line leak underneath the Dali?
I haven't heard of that report
@@MinorcanMullet I'm pretty certain I got it yesterday morning on this site.
What are spuds in this scope? Don't think they are potatoes...
The spuds are long metal pilings that are lowered to hold the barges in place

5:52 What happen? I watched it three times, saw nothing.
Are you a Campbell grad? I was 1976
is the dali still there?
Just wondering but why is their always static in the background? It may be obvious but I'm sort of new to watching these (awesome) videos
Andy is "rebroadcasting" the radio traffic between the barges, tugs, and cranes. (And maybe some others, too.) That's the source of the static.
Six weeks already?!?!?!
are they planting the explosives?
Looks like the beginnings are there
👍👍👍👍👍👍
❤
it looks like a grown man's toy set
Which crane is which colour, I know which one is the Weeks 553 that's all.

Why must you use metric weights and measurements ? At least convert
China would have that this mess cleared up a month ago.
