Your channel is my camping channel. I camp with you and sweet Susie everyday and night. Let it rain 🌧️ let it rain. I'm 73 and the videos are phenomenal and very soothing.❤
Now we know that even experienced campers can be surprised and suffer from fickle Mother Nature. Even so, he had the experience and equipment to make the best of it. This is why Luke harps on ensuring your gear is waterproof and you know how to use it. Thanks, Luke!

Absolutely agree, Mother Nature can be unpredictable! It's crucial to be prepared with reliable gear like the Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series. Its waterproof design and massive capacity make it a great choice for outdoor enthusiasts. Stay safe and enjoy your camping adventures!
I for myself love the re-occuring theme. After a stressful day at work I'm relaxing on the couch and go out with Luke into the forest. I love the scenery, the weather, the setups, the food, the little bits of knowledge he shares with us. The unexpected things that sometimes happen. Great Channel. Can't get enough of it 👍
I love watching your videos of rain, wind, lightning, adverse conditions, while I am toasty warm in bed with a cup of tea. I often ask myself while watching, "who in their right mind would choose to sleep outdoors in such conditions?" Not me! Glad it's you and not me. I can enjoy vicariously through your trips. Keep up the good work, and I'll keep the tea brewing.
I, for one, am well past the age for camping, even in a tricked out RV. I think that's why I enjoy watching your adventures. Thank you Luke, for letting me (and others) enjoy the outdoor life through you, and for sharing your world with us. 🥰👍
Hello Luke from Australia Sydney i enjoy your videos especially the rain ones you are always calm no matter what adversity great to see and your skills and solutions you pass onto us thank you to both you guys .
I am going to keep watching this because Luke knows what he is talking about, also Bushman and Blue, the lovely walks, rock climbing and WOW the views of the British Lake District and the Highlands are spectacular, recently he has been using a second hand tent, his hair is never combed and he never looks as though he is on a film set like so many campers LOL
I'm so happy that you didn't demonize the coyotes. I've been an animal fanatic since I was a little girl and have done dog rescue and worked as a docent at one of the top accredited some in the US. Coyotes are graceful, beautiful and vital creatures in a biome. You are wise not to be concerned about them being close by.they
I love the challenge. I recently spent 2 nights in Yosemite waking up to 27 degree mornings. My first time at those temperatures. I learned so much. And it was a blast. I'll never forget it. 🍻 Luke.
The sound of the rain and wind is actually quite calming.. can't imagine how relaxing that must be when you are out there, even with an issue like you had that you fixed.. great video!!
@@Lady_A.R everything I've learned on this channel from bushcrafting, equipment (his unbiased reviews are priceless and informative) , camping in a tent, in a truck
Hi I’m a Grandma from New Zealand I love watching you and Susie and hearing about your children and your adventures.Thank you so much for sharing.Big love
You’re a brave Man to try out all your ways of new cooking, heating, and food experiences. I’m super tired, so I can’t express anymore for now. Stay safe and enjoy!
Luke, you da Rain Man. For real. I watch you all the time and love being with you. But your part of the country is "WET" brother. You're constantly dealing with it. When you retire you'll be able to write all about what you learned. Thanks for hanging in there. Keep on...
I'm not knocking Luke. I am experienced too also. Been surviving since I was 5 or 6 and have done it for years and years. I am 57 years old and suffered a defeat last week in the bad weather we had in Mississippi. The weather won and I suffered, as my motto was "always camp in a full enclosed tent, not tarps". Rolled me up like a damn burrito, Glad my hands were free as I grabbed my bowie knife and cut my way out of that mess. I walked soaked wet for 4 miles away from home. I arrived and went inside and showered and went to bed. I collected what was left 3 days ago.
Hey Luke👍👍 Another test of your fortitude, not much you could do except endure. Tarps are great until the wind blows crazy sideways then their limitations show up quickly. Tarp and tent is my favorite way to camp but sometimes a person just needs more. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do with what ya got🤨 That's what I call a great meal and perfect for the situation, the stove not so much, I tossed all my stinky hazardous solid fuel stoves years ago, just too many better options available, YMMV. Too bad things went south and got wet but it could've been lots worse. Thanks for the work making this episode and bringing us along, made me appreciate my cabin, wood stove and hot cocoa...well done. Enjoy!
Them Helikon pants are the bee's knees. Super light, very comfortable (especially in the waist as they are slightly elastic and sit at a realistic height), dry quickly and have pockets for kneepad inserts. My go-to pants for my days off from work, even if I'm just kickin' around the haus. Great video, as always. Prost!
It is a funny thing but when I'm watching you and your family I don't feel as trapped by cabin fever. Thank you for being incredibly generous with your time and efforts. Please don't ever stop being who you are.
It just has too be done. Also Sausage and Gravy, that also has too be mixed up in the mash. PS, Going back too beans and Mash. Between two slices of bread. HEAVEN. MUM hated it, but dad and myself just had too do it. PSS, Corned Beef Hash, OMG, DEFINITELY had too go on bread for a butties. Also fry the left overs in a frying pan. OMG, the flavour intensifies and you get those great crispy bits. Come on, that’s seriously, the food of the Gods. Cracking meal. 🤷♀️💖🇬🇧🤷♀️💖🇬🇧🤷♀️💖🇬🇧
I always enjoy watching these, rain, hail, snow or shine, you always film a great adventure. That LED string you used looked so neat. That sure was some storm, getting soaked isn't much fun but a "bad" day in the outdoors beats a "good" day at work... I wonder if that alcohol hand cleaning gel would work as well or better than that "fire gel" for less than half the price? S&H 👍
I love it that you gave Paul M a shout out. Another of my "Go to" channels of happiness. Ive got a night out in the UK on Dartmoor tomorrow with my new NightCat tent..... and 4 seasons bag. Can't wait. Thanks for everything to give us.
Is that a tripod tarp support I see? You maintain an amazing positive attitude. Fun to watch you in the early part of the video, knowing it is going to go south later. I guess the way you love tough weather, it only figures you would see a very tough night. Great video.
Luke can't stop thinking about some people could be living in a tent in the rain wind how with children i love watching you and how you tell it like it is
I use the alcohol get to get the fire started with other material. I never thought of using it for a small stove. It seemed to work OK for you. The coyotes are so cool. We've had them startlingly close to camp.
Thanks for your commitment to walking back and forth collecting your camera and placing it in front and walking back etc. etc. But seriously, thanks for the effort and time!
Sorry Luke, but I was smiling while watching your misery. It reminded me of two camps I made- one in Pennsylvania when a rare tornado came through and one in New Hampshire that was interupted by a hurricane (downgraded to a tropical storm just prior). Miserable? Yes. Unforgetable? also, Yes! Strength and Honor!
SE Texas here. We always prepare for straight line winds and sideways driving rain when camping. It’s par for the course. Free standing tarps with a trekking pole or branch doesn’t cut it down here. Check your weather before heading out and know where the wind directions are coming from and how strong they are predicted to be. If over 30-40 mph, seek other shelter other than a tent or tarp.
Hi Luke, fantastic video as normal. Loved the meal you had, I used to have Heinz beans with sausages and mashed potatoes when I was younger in the UK. Wow the memories. Your videos are very inspiring, keep these coming.
Hahaha Heinz baked beans & Sausages, pretty much every British kid grows up eating that. It's a staple of most uk households either with sausages or without! We love them!! Really enjoying the videos.
Fire dragon stuff is pretty cheap in the uk (1 litre of gel is £5 or $6) The gel isn’t great, the liquid for a trangia stove works about as good as anything out there and no awful fumes or smell. I love the wet weather camps (have to in the uk as always rains) I am doing a totally stealth camp Saturday night. Embracing a bit of what it seems Americans love, roundabout camping 😂
Nice set up Luke that wind sure picked up and the wind oh my. love these strong adventures , happy everything worked out for you under the shelter .extremally sloppy adventure in the woods . Love this video Luke
Loved the content, not many would have stayed the night under a tarp with the gear that was brought in those conditions and tested new products as well. Respect 💪💪💪 I've seen people pack up their tents and slept in cars or found a hotel in those elements. The coyote audible was official as well!!! Keep making those memories and I appreciate your time sharing. Cheers
Hi Luke. I am not sure if you see the comments, but i was wondering if you might do a series on the multiple ways to pitch a tarp. I have seen some interesting setups but never any kind of instruction how to do them. I appreciate you. take care.
I love watching you. Miserable situation, yet still so happy. You're always up for the challenge that would cause most people to whine (cuss is more like it) and throw in the towel :-)
I love your channel! I do worry some about your safety, hoping you are carrying. Just in case the coyotes turn aggressive! Thanks for taking us along too!
Excellent vid to show folks, what can happen camping bro. High winds, I use sand pegs, with rocks on them. Also, I setup a low A frame. With the tarp. Thank you very much. For the great vids. Cheers 🍻
In the Aussie army we used to cook cans of beans and sausages by denting them with a whack to your boot heel. Pop them on the stove or fire and when the dent pops out, remove and open. Worked a treat and you ate out of the can (wear a glove or use your bush hat, of course) leaving nothing to wash up. Pay attention as if you miss the dent popping out it wasn't long before the can went off like a little hand grenade.

It means no matter what is thrown at you you deal with it and over come it. You did just that. We call that ranger pride and you have it. That is why I watch you thats called ranger pride. To me you are ranger material if you'd have been in you'd have been looked for. Be proud of over coming and doing it in style. As for me you are range strong.
