So glad to have found your video this morning. I have a large cattleya which just finished flowering. I believe that it will need to be repotted. I appreciate that you showed how to prepare a plastic pot for properly growing cattleyas. I didn't realize that they prefer to have such good air circulation. Will hopefully see an improvement in my cattleyas. What about tree mounted cattleyas? I have areca palms growing in my western yard in southeast Florida, USA. For them I have placed coco coir (like in pot liners) around those orchids which I have mounted out there. I did this thinking that it would help with some water retention near the roots and protection from sun burning the roots, etc. What are your thoughts about this? Thanks for the videos that you are posting. I have found them very helpful.
yes the coir fiber is an excellent way to mount the Cattleya onto the palms as their roots can easily grow though it. Just be sure they are not getting too much direct sun. We are glad you are finding value in the content we provide . We really love hearing how other people are growing their orchids and it helps the rest of the community learn from your experience too . 🫂💕
Thank you for this information! I will get to work on all of mine, plus the one that is the biggest, which has two new growths, one of which that is trying to grow a sheath.😮😮❤. Thank you again!😊🤗👍❤️🪴👏🏻👏🏻
