    This video really shows that Cziffra wasn't "just the technic" as many critics classified him at the time ....true emotion in this nocturne !!!

      I had the same thoughts after hearing it. Truly a special recording of it, and hard proof Cziffra wasn't a virtuosaic robot.

    • @teodorojaranilla5008
      @teodorojaranilla5008 Рік тому

      absolutely not! Cziffra was a TRUE natural talent...with all the qualities at highest level..the technical virtuousity was that of the rare talents (i don t mean "prodigies" out of having the right teachers...atmosphere...opportunities..usually family connections) ...but NATURAL technical facility...musicality..originality and perception thinking LIKE a composer who happens to play the instrument virtuousically..almost like a GYPSY with their well-known technical brilliance , ease...improvisatory quality...that is hard to PIN DOWN to 'CATEGORIES"....great pianist...interpreter...musician and artist in the most COMPLETE sense. ...he makes music of the highest quality..as 'SERIOUSLY " as the conservatory professors like......whether in the SALON with drunk people OR the most exacting Concert halls in front of "judgemental pianists"...with CIGAR on his mouth..or a cigarette between fingers and play the heck out of the instrument...and laugh it all off!!

  • @Networkvans

    I only know his performances of the Hungarian rhapsodies and the grand gallop chromatique, I’m absolutely shocked and amazed by the amount of feeling he plays with. He plays Jeux d’eau like I’ve never heard it, so soft in the beginning and slowely building up but never playing to loud.

    his jeux d'eaux is more french than most french pianists. wonder why people now misses Horowitz, Rubinstein, Richter but him. he's really one of a kind. perhaps it has to do with him not traveling to the states often enough

    • @piano345
