My ex wife used to play this song in the background and I never really listened to it.. till I took her on a family trip, to Korea, and then she left me after. This song kept popping up to me and I finally listened to it.. then I have listened to it dozens and dozens of times.. it helped me cry the pain away but also help me be a better man. So now, 4 years later I am a better man but still love this song. So this is to my ex wife. Your prayers were answered but years later.. I'm sorry but bless you and your family now!

So true - I broke up with my boyfriend two weeks ago. He had a lot of mental issues when I met him but he was working through them and on the right track. I thought he was it, that we would get married and I was so happy, then two months ago things started to spiral, he was manipulative and angry and aggressive and I left. He's now blaming me for his life de-railing, but he wasn't looking after himself any more and I can't help someone who won't help themselves. He texted me after the breakup saying that he was sorry that he didn't appreciate me when he had me and he wished me the best. This song sums up everything for me right now.

Ignoring all of the romantic lyrics and themes in this, this song actually describes pretty well how I feel about my dad. I genuinely wish he was a better man. This song really captures how we can't just turn off our love for people, even when they're so bad for us. I had to move away from my parents before I could begin to heal my relationship with my dad. If you need to do the same with someone, please know that it's not always weakness to walk away. Like the song says, sometimes the bravest thing you can do is run.

I love the contrast between past and present, the way it feels like history is repeating itself as we get an insight of her dad's mind. The details are also so clever; the cup on the sink along with the dirty dishes later dripping coffee, the watch on the table being on her dad's wrist, the wedding ring left alone and the different shots of each character running across the field, hesitantly looking behind like they know they have to leave but it tears them apart to do so. Brilliant, I wish I'd seen this sooner!

This song hits so close to home. I ended a 4 year relationship with a man that I planned to marry and start a family with. I discovered 2-1/2 years into the relationship that he is an addict and had been abusing opioids for many years. His addiction got worse and he turned emotionally and mentally abusive. If you have experience with what meth and heroin can do to a person, then you may understand what I'm talking about. It was a very bad situation and I had to make the tough decision to end the relationship 5 months ago. I'm constantly haunted by the "what if's". I wish he had gotten the help he needed when there was still hope to have the future we wanted together. I wish he had been a better man, not just for me, but for himself and his family.

I don't know, Forever and Always was barely country and Enchanted wasn't country at all. When it comes to Taylor Swift and country, it's a bit of her second album but really just her first album.
Her old writing style was a lot more immature. There was a lot of potential, but her first albums do not compare to 1989 in any way. They just don't. Sophistication, sonical factor and cohesivity, maturity, writing, enjoyability and etc. She became much better as time goes on

Little Big Town has paid their dues. year after year at "The Country Music Awards," I would see them nominated and not win. Finally here, in 2016, they were recognized as Country Group of the Year and I know deep in my heart that they should have been recognized many times earlier.
I see this song winning them a Grammy next year. Would be great to see them rewarded. They are fantastic.

Donna, the truth of the matter is that in my opinion,one does not have to be so "politically correct" in their statements about specifics. Sure, they may have been recognized in 2012 as Maz Max said and I apologize to him for my error. But I strongly feel that this "Incredible Band," has been overlooked so many times that they could have been honored and it would literally bother me because I didn't understand why? My first time hearing this song. Never heard something like this that talks about the hurt and the need to leave, but at the same time also acknowledges the love. It's validating. I almost cried when I saw your comment. I wonder if my children's father ever thinks that. Or if he never will. I just can't tell with him but either way it's heart wrenching not only that I had to run from him but take my children with me too and he never came for us. He moved on to the next love of his life a week later. Probably sooner then that. I still wake up reaching out to touch him and think about him constantly and it's been a long time now. I can't even be with a better man because my heart is stuck with him. I don't want a better man I want him to be a better man but at the same time , as bad as I wish we could go back , I can't. I can't do that after seeing him "love " another woman and her child when he neglected me and ours for so long. I'm sure he does have regrets but even so he made his choice.
