and the tooltip in the loading screen for the next match: "Starcraft II is played by professional gamers. Watch pro matches to learn new strategies." indeed
I imagine it's a bit of a "double edged sword". Being unstoppable can be boring because there's next to no challenge involved. Either way this game deserves a larger following imo.
@@naeledro This goes from the opposite: good manner is just to GG and out, while if one is angry and salty, he would do anything to break this simple flow of actions - using pause or refusing to leave the game until the last structure destroyed.
For the grand finale I think the absolute most insane silly goose move would be to fly 2 cc into the opponent's base. I know it's plain impossible so it would be so crazy :)
how is this the most successful challenge so far? The win rate is crazy. At the beginning we were all doubting. But this makes us believe it's a legit strat!
this encourages speed running style timing attacks/all-ins which are awesome to see because small micro makes huge differences. This is the unfortunate part about proxy zerg hatcheries. Its not fun seeing zerglings run everywhere when medivac/liberator/siege tank micro is soo much better
Well the opponents get higher rated each episode so they’re better at defending so he has to come up with new ways to make it work. That probably has something to do with it.
You know how I know uThermal is amazing? I don't even play ranked SC2 and I'm infatuated with watching him dominate on a regular basis. The man is a legend.
Last game was the most satisfying game I have ever seen of SC2. Thank you Uthermal. I deal with mental health as well and your videos always brighten up my day for a bit. Thank you!
Started playing again because of your videos. Don't think I'll get back to diamond nowadays but thanks for reviving sc for me, been a sc head since the lan days!!!
New GM series idea : called - 'Ow, my neck' Only able to use units that can't shoot up - i.e. Reapers, Marauders, Hellions, Tanks, Banshees Would certainly be a challenge and a meme :)
I wasn't planning on missing this game, but thanks for the extra encouragement :) I wouldn't miss a single game of PF rush to GM, this series is the most amazing one since the Bongcloud series.
Been pulling this stuff on my friends in 1 v 1 ended up building a 5 PF with 6 bunker contain infrot of their base with vikings patrolling for any air drops. So much fun watching people's brains melt. Thanks for all the content!
Protoss, seeing command center being built: Oh, I got this... I'll just keep hitting the SVC so it can't ever finish or land or turn into a PF. Immortals, stalkers, prism, I'm good. uThermal: but if I almost lose, repeatedly, then I'm still winning. Protoss: wait, what?
Lmao toss at the end mad af that he lost to a PF rush when he KNEW it was coming. Gotta say that is so satisfying to see after many patches of Cannon Rushing with batteries, nexus, and stargates right at your front door being very viable cheese that even pros found difficult to counter. We already knew Zerg and Toss had powerful cheeses where you build defensive structures directly at your enemy's front door that confuse the hell out of people as it's really not obvious what to focus down first, so it's absolutely hilarious and vindicating to see that this same thing can happen regularly at high level of play for Terran.
One of my favorite challenges was Beastyqt’s “no attack to gm”. He did one with each race. With Terran you can’t attack for 25 minutes but you can nuke with ghosts unlimited. Super campy with tanks, PFs, and turrets all over. The only downside is it makes for very long games, but still it was my fav.
the second game was a masterclass. the third game bent reality itself. 38:2 with PF rush. unreal. i had high hopes for this challenge but this surpasses any expectations.
Trying to remember all the challenges so far: Bongcloud Ghosts Raven/Hellion Cyclone/Mine Proxy Hatch Sky Terran Speedrunning SC2 PF Marine/Medivac Cheese That's 10 different ones right there!
Ok after that TvP the next challenge has to be "SCVs vs immortals to GM". You only build SCVs and ask your opponent to build immortals, and tell them about the challenge before every game, of course.
Well done, Marc! This episode had me bust out laughing. Especially the 2nd and 3rd matches. I can’t believe you won the third match, which was basically a 1 base, planetary fortress, half-in. (Half-in because you didn’t pull all of your SCVs.) In the third match, I love it that you continued with the PF even though it was scouted. I think that’s a testament to your micro skills. I definitely wouldn’t have been able to pull it off with my micro. (Or, macro for that matter! lol!)
Hi Marc. I've been watching your videos for a few weeks now. I must say it's incredibly entertaining to watch you. I'm not a starcraft player - in fact I've only ever played brood war and that was vs Ai. I'm curious if you have any advice on how to begin mastering micro your units? Do you group units? Thanks and love your work sir
I sent you an email with some replays of the "Aggrobuild" tactic that I came up with. It's 99% mind games & a follow-up email of the intention, ins and outs.
You should consider that in the map from the 1st game you yourself build depo at the reaper jump spot so enemy terran might be doing the same so it looks like their depo is delayed while actually it's just at the reaper cliff.
@14:54 unintentional SCV conga-line was hilarious! 👌🏻👏🏻
New challenge: Conga line to GM
@@mikeballew3207 I believe this must be a celebratory episode when he reaches 100k subscribers!
"100k conga tournament special"
I wonder what the guy felt when he saw that in the replay lol
and the tooltip in the loading screen for the next match: "Starcraft II is played by professional gamers. Watch pro matches to learn new strategies." indeed
It must be so much fun being this good at SC2.
Anyone can pick up this game and play this well
i'm pretty bad and have never even gotten to masters, but i have an absolute blast getting to diamond with some of these builds.
to be fair, I can't see myself getting passed diamond 3, but I'm still having a lot of fun. Would love to be able to play this comfortably though.
I imagine it's a bit of a "double edged sword". Being unstoppable can be boring because there's next to no challenge involved. Either way this game deserves a larger following imo.
I played online once. Someone jumped a reaper into my base and I thought this is not for me
the BM pauses made this video absolutely golden
Salt does increase the flavor
Salt Cannon got its shot!
I thought accidentally lifting his cc and the scv's coming across the map was also a golden moment!
I'm curious, why is pause quitting considerem BM? Doesn't seem to do much for the other opponent.
@@naeledro This goes from the opposite: good manner is just to GG and out, while if one is angry and salty, he would do anything to break this simple flow of actions - using pause or refusing to leave the game until the last structure destroyed.
10:08 the timing
Uthermal: I think am not ready to go
Marine: gogogo
xD
For the grand finale I think the absolute most insane silly goose move would be to fly 2 cc into the opponent's base. I know it's plain impossible so it would be so crazy :)
Impossible. Maybe super late game
Don’t temp Thermy with crazy
man this episode was a banger but that last game was REAL clutch
Planetary fortress rush is my favourite series so far. There's something about flying a command center in that's incredibly satisfying.
how is this the most successful challenge so far? The win rate is crazy. At the beginning we were all doubting. But this makes us believe it's a legit strat!
Game 3 was truly epic. The degree of skill to pull that off and just so casually narrate it so awesome
I have no idea what’s going on but your passion for the game is so infectious that I started playing the campaign and I’m having a blast!
How is each ep even better than the last!?
Right??!!??!!
this encourages speed running style timing attacks/all-ins which are awesome to see because small micro makes huge differences. This is the unfortunate part about proxy zerg hatcheries. Its not fun seeing zerglings run everywhere when medivac/liberator/siege tank micro is soo much better

Nah, nothing beats that 1hp PF.
You cracking up at your mistakes while STILL winning is such PURE JOY. Love it.
that last game was 🔥🔥🔥
Reynor switches to Terran after losing to Uthermal's Planetary Fortress

Last game was the most satisfying game I have ever seen of SC2. Thank you Uthermal. I deal with mental health as well and your videos always brighten up my day for a bit. Thank you!
That CC/Lib/Tank march is just terrifying. It's like you are relentlessly bulldozing your opponents.
Started playing again because of your videos. Don't think I'll get back to diamond nowadays but thanks for reviving sc for me, been a sc head since the lan days!!!
Marc! The end of the second match had me in stitches! Hahaha thanks for the laugh, mate.

That last game might be the best SC2 I have watched. Incredibly impressive!! Amazing series as expected Uthermal!!
Oh, man, that last game! So close the entire time! And I love the pauses at the end, that player was pissed 🤣
The pure joy after a win .... and after all these yrs playing. =)) Bangin'

I haven't played SC2 since HotS (have the poster on my wall), but I love watching uThermal play it. For the swarm!
The reaction of discovering that you lifted the orbital is priceless!
They way he lined up his units for your hellions on that ramp game 1, oh baby.
Lmao toss at the end mad af that he lost to a PF rush when he KNEW it was coming.

Got blind countered, at a planetary fortress rush, and won. I did not think this was even doable at this high level. Really impressive!
The third game was such a uThermal game… planetary rush without a planetary… gets scouted immediately… blind countered, still wins!!!
That last game though!!Didn't realise I held my breath for those last minutes
The end of game 2 reminds me of that game Idra ragequit against MMA without realizing MMA had accidentally killed his own planetary fortress earlier.
One of my favorite challenges was Beastyqt’s “no attack to gm”. He did one with each race.

14:20 I can't believe you finally exploded your own head right there :D
I love that I can assume it's not clickbaiting and it's actually gonna be worth it ♥
Thank you uThermal!
15:20 uthermal with the almost 3 gazillion IQ play ▶️▶️▶️ lifting all other command centers except the one in need for repairs... "Pulling the Bros"
Lifting the main could be the ultimate celebration before a gg is dropped
That was a beautiful, silly, entertaining mess of an episode. I love it!
That hopping cc in the last game was amazing
@14:40 Unintentional all-in SCV pull! 😂🤣😂
uthermal better player than pros, better commentators than commentators, at the same god damn time.
These games were hilarious! Actually laughed at the end. Very entertaining.
Yooo game 2 was hilarious 😂 this channel is one of my favs ngl
that second game was absolutely hilarious!! great job thermy!

I almost missed this game but then I saw the title, thanks uthermal!
It's so crazy. You kill all of them basically with a 550 mineral and 150 gas handycap.
Lmao! So good uthermal... I love yours attitude!
Hot DAMN that win vs the protoss was spicy
Well done, Marc! This episode had me bust out laughing. Especially the 2nd and 3rd matches. I can’t believe you won the third match, which was basically a 1 base, planetary fortress, half-in. (Half-in because you didn’t pull all of your SCVs.)

He's also incredibly stubborn when it comes to following the self-imposed rules of his challenges. Always tries to give them his best attempt
You should have a fun contest where you use a bar code, but mail a prize to your fans if they can guess that it is you.
pushing for that algorithm! sending energy to you man
This was a great episode. Love this challenge.
Predicts the pf, scouts it cause the salt cannon. Salt cannon still produces salt.
"Gonna siege this tank a little bit further back, so its kinda like a tank"
I dont enjoy playing this game... but i love this guys shenanigans.
Big finale double planetary rush!
never seen a bm pause before. didn't even know that was a thing
The last one was just epic. Good job!
That's it. It's time we called Thermy out for what he really is. He's not a retired gamer. He's a....magician.
Love youThermal
I LOVE THESE VIDEOS, THANK YOU MARC! ❤
Your planetary rush is the best series :D
So much fun with You :)
love your videos. Great entertainment!
This game against protoss was very fun and very close to lose. So much adrenaline in the end
Love seeing you enjoy these games
That second game was hilarious 🤣
game 3 had me chuckling good. GGs
I am thoroughly entertained.
Great games! This challenge series is so much fun!
I thought you had no chance in that final game. Amazing!
3rd game was a banger!!!!! great games marc!!
27 seconds from post, already liked the video. GGWP

Ah yes, the seven minute SCV all in. Classic.
That last dude gave a lot of salt
Последняя игра просто сумашедшая! Уровень исполнения очень достойный.
Marc I'd never miss a game. Banger content
Haha “I’ve also lost a lot on Cosmic Sapphire“ 😂😂, playing with a 37-2 record in this challenge
that rage quit pause lmaoooo
That last game wow
This last game so epic dude !
I sent you an email with some replays of the "Aggrobuild" tactic that I came up with. It's 99% mind games & a follow-up email of the intention, ins and outs.
Planetary rush is the real boom cloud!
it's actually insane how you win the last game -- lol i'd feel so embarassed as the toss
The toss played well, nothing to be embarrassed about. His pausing before quitting was pretty shameful though
You should consider that in the map from the 1st game you yourself build depo at the reaper jump spot so enemy terran might be doing the same so it looks like their depo is delayed while actually it's just at the reaper cliff.
normally i would agree with you except then there shouldn't be an svc going to the ramp to build what would in that case be a third depo
I just cant imagine no 1 block the CC landing.
Despite the negative comments some ppl make for your content i really believe your content is amazing! Keep it up bro we love it! Ratte out!
The orbital lift 😂😂jajaja
You should get Hi-sec auto tracking as well one game, be fun to see
wow amazing games man!
It was a wicked ACV pull
