I love this video of your loc journey bc you started with short hair and I can see similarities in watching the stages of locs I'm 3 months in to my loc journey I started with short hair also. Your locs are beautiful ❤️ and so are you
Hey 👋🏽 sis you are beautiful and your loc journey was beautiful you got a ring 💍 in the midst of it what a blessing god had for you I’m motivated I just started my journey two weeks ago 😩🤞🏽💪🏽
@@92aoalicia My hair was kept short due to military requirements for 17 years. Got out last November and been letting it grow for the last year. Lately, keeping it braided down for protection and my little 'fro gets in the way at work. Going to let it keep growing before locing it.
@@rufushughes4331 wow congrats on that transition. You have so much more freedom with your crown now! I think growing it out is a great idea. I grew my hair for 9 months before i got my starter loc's. I couldn't be happier.
We have the exact growth rate, was beginning to think my locks lacked something!Am at month 9 now!!Thanks for this video,it has encouraged me so much! And you have beautiful locks!!
I'm starting my dreadlocks with the three strand method because I last permed my hair 2 months ago Any tips on how to lock my hair and grow it faster... All tips are welcome
Sonika thank you so much! That really was my goal because before I started my journey I was watching videos too. I wanted to create all the things I wanted to see.
I started with two strand twists and 14 months after, they are still in an ugly phase. I'm considering taking them down and starting again with finger coils.
Tee F if I had to guess I would say 4A and 4B mix 🤷🏽♀️ i have a mix of loose and tight coils and a tight wave. My wash n goes used to be so difficult lol
LIFE Hey 👋🏽 You get your thickness from the density of your hair and the size of your parts. With my first set of locs I had smaller sections (my hair is thin-ish) and I had over 100 so my locs were skinny. This time around I knew I wanted thick locs so I knew I needed less than 100 and larger parts. I retwisted about every month and a half. I condition with just coconut oil because I feel like conditioner would give me build up. And as far as my scalp I just use coconut oil as well. My routine is very basic. Remember less is more. I hope this answered your question 😊
Thank you so much! I don't maintain my hair daily, except for wearing my loc sock to bed at night. If my hair feels dry i would moisturize it with water, leave in conditioner and oils. I have a very minimal routine.
Cosmic Queen 😊lm glad my energy reached you! I combed out my first set and then started over like two years later. If i could do it again I would have started then over right after I combed them out. I ultimately did a big chop and rocked a twa until I was 9 months in then I started my coils. I will do a video one day so you can see, but regardless just start my love 😘 get it done how you want so it makes you happy.
i love the parting system you started with.. i wana start with something like this.. the journey was amazing and looked real... let me ask a silly newbie question, can you start a diamond parting system like that when you interlock? i wont be palmrolling, ill be interlocking my hair.. your help would be appreciate.. thanks love
Wildly Brittish thank you love!!! When I hit one year it was so bitter sweet because my journey was so long. I cut all my hair off in November of 2016. My hair was literally an inch long(I have a picture on my instagram) but I went from TWA to Starter locs to finally having what I have now. I’m so in love with my hair. And it makes me so happy that I can inspire people and give people hope.
Phurian _ 😂 that’s because we are being monitored. The same thing happened to me today after I had a conversation about almond milk with a coworker. I started seeing random ads and emails about almond milk. 🤯
Congrats on your journey, and your engagement! Hair looks great!! I’m about 10.5 months, seeing videos like this make me excited to hit my one year mark! I document my loc journey here on YT too! It’s nice to connect w other sisters who are on the journey as well! Xx
The Kris Bliss Thank you so much love! I’m happy I can share my journey because I remember looking at a bunch of videos when I had starter locs lol. Connecting with other in the loc community is so fun because everyone is so supportive and sweet. I love it!
J Onwuka hey love 👋🏽 I combed out my first set of locs after a year and a half because my locs were too small and I had started them on damaged hair so the straight parts were so annoying to deal with. I was sick and tired . When I started over I was natural for 9 months and never used heat. I went to a loctition and told her that I wanted to thick locs and to have less then 100 because my hair is thin. I’m so happy I started over😍
That was such a beautiful journey. You made a lot of noteworthy progress in one year. Congratulations and your locs are stunning even in their infancy.
Starting my loc journey again next week. Thank you for sharing this video... it gives me hope lol. Locs are truly beautiful...

BEAUTIFUL TRANSFORMATION. 🙌🏾
I started with two strand twists and 14 months after, they are still in an ugly phase. I'm considering taking them down and starting again with finger coils.
Does anyone know her hair type? Looks like mine could be similar just not as thick

How do you mentain your locks
Ndichu Beth peace ✌🏽 checkout my new video.
How did you get your thickness? How often did you retwist? Wash hair? Deep condition hair? What products use to moisturize scalp and hair?

Is it better to start off with coils or two strand twists?
Was this only twisted or crochet as well?
shani Retha hey 👋🏽 I only twisted (coil method) my hair
Just started my loc journey yesterday. Thanks for the video. You give me hope
Started mine 2 weeks agao
Starting mine next week. How is your journey going?
