Madeira Travel Vlog - Landing At One Of The World's Most Challenging Airports! A Windy, Bumpy Ride

Hi Guys , So in Todays vlog we are flying off to the beautiful Island of Madeira. Its the first time we have ever been to this Portuguese Island and we are looking forward to a great week with plenty of fun things planned so expect plenty of content. Now as the title says Madeira Airport.... an airport known for dealing with strong cross winds can result in a very Bumpy landing or even a diversion to another airport !! So it is certainly one of the most challenging airports in the world and was also one of the worlds most dangerous airports due to its very short runway which has in recent years had various extentions to minimise the dangers.
Also we show you around our hotel, the Allegro Madeira and let you know what we paid for a weeks hotel including flights as we had a complete bargain!!

Well it's about time, Kev and Stacey! We've been waiting almost a year! (we know the covid situation was the issue.) Your trip to Madeira caught us by surprise now. The landing looked smooth but the behind the scenes entertainment didn't sound so nice! We also enjoyed seeing your room. Looks like everything is there and the second balcony view was lovely. Because of the architecture of the building your balcony also seemed pretty private from the immediate neighbors. Hate stepping out and not having any privacy from the folks next door. Beautiful roof top terrace! Looks like a beautiful seashore area and we looking forward to seeing much more. We've stayed at Allegro Hotel Resorts before mostly in the Caribbean. Loved them every time. The price for both of you was fantastic! Thanks so much for bringing us along.

Thanks Dave and Kathy. We have never heard of the allegro chain before we would sure use them again . We were very lucky with the landing as the day we flew lots of other flights had to be diverted to other places due to the winds. So circling for over an hour wasn't too bad after all! 😁 we loved the view from the balcony and we can't wait show you all this beautiful island. Thanks so much for watching

I’m going to Madeira for the first time in July. I have also booked the Allegro. You guys are the first people I have seen who have showed the rooms at the hotel. Really looking forward to it, especially since your video seems to confirm the reviews I’ve read of the hotel. Looking forward to the flight in as well 😏

Never. Been to Lagos on the mainland 6 times. Thought I’d try somewhere different. A mate in work was looking at Madeira for him and his wife. They were looking at the Allegro. When I saw that rooftop bar and it’s adults only. Peaked my interest. Then when I looked at pics and vids of Madeira, I was sold.

Lovely vlog, took me back to my first visit to Madeira back in 1992 the runway back in 92 was shorter than it is now! Very abrupt braking! Then a steep takeoff ✈️ Beautiful Island, nice hotel too.

Fun fact: London Heathrow is more dangerous to land at than Funchal
