Good video Eddie. Sometimes it is easier to just buy a bag of potatoes but the fresh potato out of your own ground tastes so much better.
It’s good to have gardening skills and the ability to grow your own food, just in case my brother.

I agree, everyone should know how to garden just in case.
Gardening is fun but it is a lot of work.

Here in Tallahassee, my potatoes this year did not perform as good as last year. The La Soda performed the best in quantity and size. I also grew Baltic Rose, Yukon Gold, Huckleberry Gold (purple). While these were smaller and less in numbers, it is still fun to experiment with different varieties. There is nothing better in taste than fresh dug potatoes! I enjoy your stories about your grandkids! My 9 year old grandson helped plant green beans and squash and he got a kick out of the pictures I sent him as the plants matured.

I hated the grandkids where not here to harvest the taters, that is one of Colton's favorite things to do but I could not wait another week with all the rain we where getting.

Yes Maam, I think if someone was only planting one verity I would plant the reds.

Those red lasodas did well for us too and we didn't have near the rain y'all did. You are so right that sometimes you just have to do something in the garden when you don't want to or don't exactly have the time. By doing your own gardening you know what's been used or not used in growing like fertilizer, etc. Have a blessed week and stay cool Mr Eddie! ⛱️

That's rite, Some think it's all easy so I like to show the good, bad and ugly.
Garden harvesting doesn't wait on you.

Good morning Mr Eddie. This year the reds for us far outdid the white potatoes. I do have to say though for all the work homegrown potatoes taste is way better than anything y'all are going to get in a grocery store. Thank y'all for sharing and have a blessed day.

Yes Gardening is well worth the work but I like to point out to everyone that it's not always the cheapest way to go and it's a lot of work in volved.
I don't like sugar coating anything.

Good video, and stand strong Papaw. I just made tomato sauce from last years tomatoes I froze. After all my time I think they would be about $30.00 a quart. Your right, the grocery store is cheaper but the garden is much better.

I was looking for two crates from each row but I guess with all the weather and rain this was fair harvest.

Don't think my taters in central Mississippi gonna make, to wet. As like you said I can actually buy tater cheaper then I can grow them. And the space they consume is more valuable real estate for me growing maters or peas.
But lucky you. And the story about your grands 😂 I so get it, hard to be firm with them especially when they say the things they say.
Had my grands help plant the green beans asked them if they were gonna help pick they said "NO" 😂😂.
    Prayers for your mother.
Keep up the wonderful video content, loved when it was poor boys and love it even more now.
