      That’s when the best tips seem to come out! One thing that would be cool to see would be a detailed beaver sign reading video. Like all the features and the subtle things. I didn’t realize what the beaver scat looked like underwater until you mentioned it. Seems simple but it helps newbies like myself a lot!

    Your the Best of The BEST !!! So Real hands-On !!! Had a similar story with land owner’s, no violations etc. Anyway, 2-years later the new landowner’s called me back to trap those Nuisance Beaver’s. I didn’t want to do it, so they offered me $2,500.00 / year and trapping Right’s to manage their Beaver’s and Coyote’s …. Ideology doesn’t work with Mother Nature !!! Excellent Instruction !!!

      Hahahaha! I love it… snaring is a big part of what I do for beavers mainly because that’s what my Dad taught me. I still catch some in drowner sets, and 330’s, but mostly all my beavers have that burn mark from the snare. I had a fur buyer cuss me once. He said “you know they make 330’s right?” He was giving me a hard time, but I think he meant it. Hahahahh. I tan all my beavers, and make things to sell that way it extends my trapping activities for a little longer in the year.
      Thanks for the support!

      I agree, nothing is better. I have my older son Mason that has trapped with me since he was Jack’s age, he has a memory like an elephant. He would remember where sets were from the previous year. He now is an excellent trapper, but he spends most of his time rodeoing. He’ll probably pick trapping back up after he retires from the rodeo. He still talks about times spent out on the trapline!

      @jeromycooley-outwestadvent5790  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Tom!
      Snares are a lot of fun. You can think of them as 330’s, and they have a more subtle appearance sometimes. I usually anchor them under water on a willow, or use a rebar stake. Wolf Fangs work great too. The thing I like the most Tom, is the cost. They cost under $1 each to make your own. I know you know how much 330’s are. They definitely don’t replace a 330, but they are another great tool In your arsenal.

      @@jeromycooley-outwestadvent5790 I appreciate the information, will certainly look into it sir. I hadn’t put much thought into them until I saw your videos and Dan’s, got me excited. • @jeromycooley-outwestadvent5790
      @jeromycooley-outwestadvent5790  2 роки тому +1

      You’re definitely correct on the fur damage Tom. Snares do leave a snare mark on the hide side for sure. As far as the fur side, not too much more damage than the 330 would leave.
      From my understanding most of the beaver are sold to the hatter market, so they may not mind a snare mark on the hide side of the animal. I’m not the expert in this area, but that is my reasoning behind it.
