The 76ers medical staff needs to be investigated...
Agreed
Why?
@@DonKey496 lol all their draft picks during " the process" all had major medical issues.
For not putting the health of their player 1st
He got hit in the eye during the game. How is that the medical staff's fault?
Anybody else notice themselves blinking during this video lol
100% 😂😂🤣
😂yep
seeing embiid wink for five minutes straight id be surprised if you didn't wink a few times. 😉😉
@@stubborndreams I was wondering if he was trying to do some sort of Morse code. “Help me”

He was also wearing sunglasses in pregame warm ups I’ve heard. So I do think he’s trying to hide it as much as he can. Bizarre.
Went from Embiid to Embid
👁⚫see what you did there
Yo😂😂😂 chill man
Not funny at all , but I chuckled
witty 😂
😅😅
philly should hire you as their medical staff because they've always been hiding information
They hide it as a competitive advantage. They only have to list the injury by rule if he has any chance to miss the game because of it. I think I first saw this when bron hurt his hand in the finals after smashing something after game 1 Jr smith.
@@isaacw6900 what advantage is that if he’s injured again? He’s the most injury prone dude in the league. It makes no difference even if it was to keep it a secret.
@@isaacw6900no they hide because they’re cheap incompetent scumbags
@@1kbmahan dude was basically fine before kuminga fell on his leg and caused him to officially need surgery on it. He was actually dunking the ball.

Bell’s Palsey. I had a bout of it about 7 years ago. It’s stressful and embarrassing, but he will recover. The big deal is that bell’s palsey is a cry for help that the body has. Personally, mine was caused by ultra high blood sugar and resulted in my type 2 diabetes diagnosis and ultimately lead for my getting help for my diabetes and the bell’s palsey healed when my sugar went down to normal. Bell’s palsey isn’t always for diabetes, but is a warning bell that something serious is going on. He needs to get a total physical, separate from a physical for sports.
That doesn't seem like bell's palsey to me. It appears to ONLY be the eye that's affected. The rest of that side of the face seems fine. Not to mention it was triggered by trauma.
EDIT: OP is correct. He hid it well but there is evidence of it affecting the mouth/nose and they confirmed he's being treated for it.
@@JJFX- Trauma can cause bell’s palsey. But I haven’t studied his face. I hope he doesn’t have Bell’s palsy and it’s just a short term issue. It wouldn’t surprise me that it’s already healed and turned out to be nothing, since he is an elite athlete. But having experience with Bell’s palsy, personally, that’s what it looked like to me. Bell’s palsy is progressive to an extent, and until it is treated with ice/heat and steroids. If it does turn out to be Bell’s palsy, he will just need to wear a mask similar to someone with a broken nose, to protect the eye. I hope Bell’s palsy is the worst case scenario, because it’s just inconvenient, but recoverable.
You the GOAT iguess
@@JJFX-comment aged like 🥛
@@awlmut Yeah it's really weird how well he's been able to hide it. If I saw the mouth and nose I obviously wouldn't have said that.
He needs to stop at the auto parts store for blinker fluid.

they should sell eyedrops in auto shops just so they make a sale when someone gets that prank

to be barely beating a hobbled, sick team on your home court with the NBA officials on your side (L2M report confirms it), and to be talking this confidently...just be ready for the heartbreak.
I thought he was having a stroke or something. How is it not alarming ?! If I see this on my wife or my father, I would freak out and rush to the ER
I understand your concern, but the mere mentioning of a problem with your head, will trigger the concussion protocol and take you out for a game, it could and in Embiid's case will swing a playoff series, sixers have no chance if Embiid doesn't play (they barely have a chance to win when he plays), there is no way any (important) player would admit this type of problem in the playoffs, not just professional pride, how well you play in playoffs is directly tied to the contracts you can sign in the future, it can be tens of millions of dollars at steak.
Nah just super zooted on horse tranq.
Probably because they literally have doctors right there indicating that he is not.

Agreed! It's strange it hasn't been mentioned much at all.
Embiid has had injuries to this side of his face several seasons ago. I remember he wore a phantom mask during the playoffs, and reinjured the same side when he collided with Fultz at one time which sideline him. Perhaps that's the cause of that
That makes sense, but this reaction would be appearing years ago not right now so is something no related to that one

Exactly
Facts...this is serious, though you got to give him credit for being out there for his team.
Markell fultz shooting movment wasnt a long time ago ... Who knows whats going on there
I'm sure he's been examined by an ophthalmologist. Hospitals aren't magic: it's the physicians and the equipment. Pro athletes have access to whatever they need. Even an MRI or CT scan would not diagnose this: it is a simple neurological exam and ophthalmological exam. I'm sure he's had that.

Wow, that's very interesting about Embiid keeping his head down while being interviewed after the game.
Because Charles Barkley was criticizing him for doing that. Saying that Embid should be more confident in order to encourage his team to bounce back after the loss..
When in reality, Joel was embarrassed when facing the cameras because of this freakish condition!
You might be right on this... it certainly didn't seem characteristic of him to have his head down like that.
Not embarrassed but I think light bothers him, before game 2 he was even wearing sunglasses
Nothing to do with with embarrassment. Everything to do with light sensitivity.
He's an alien. His suit is malfunctioning.
Finally.
That's why he was injured the first two years of his career. He had to get the suit implanted in the first place.

Thanks for this video. I noticed both incidents too. The first one when on the ground after hard landing looked like he was in shock with eyes not in sync. Then at the second one at the free throw was more noticeable with eyes out of sync. I didn’t recall seeing this in season games…hope he gets better.

Badum tshhhh
HA HA HEE HEE HOO HOO
It’s not just the blinking, you can see his left eye fail to track with the right eye as well. Scary stuff I hope he’s ok.
Definitely was wondering why this was happening. Glad you caught it too
I noticed this when he was on the ground and thought it was strange. Cool you made a video on this!
I was born with Ptosis and it appears his blinking is acting very similar. I'm surprised you mentioned this as most people arent aware of this. Good job with this review!
I noticed the eye thing, too.
Not real
I think it's Bell's Palsy, I saw his nose and that side of his mouth not moving as well, you can see it when he talks out of one side of his mouth (although his eye seems more affected). He tries to hide it, as can be seen by the fact he wears sunglasses in public or looks down when speaking to the media in just the last week. The exact cause of Bell's palsy is somewhat unknown, although things like stress can increase chance they think, I imagine the stress of him coming back from yet another knee injury during playoff time contributed to chances of getting it. They'll have to make sure his eye gets frequent eye drops and maybe even specialty contacts to prevent damage from dryness. He went into the locker room after a quarter possibly for some sort of treatment there I'm guessing
It’s from the muscle relaxers and pain blockers he’s taking I think
@@SlickRickMedia this is obviously what it is people in the comments are so lost lol

he’s dealing with so much rn health-wise. i wonder if the added stress of the playoffs exacerbates his eye problem
I’m sure it is. He’s the face of the franchise so everything is on him win or lose. He’s been under pressure for a few seasons now but it’s building more and more. He’s definitely stressed to the Max right now
Of course ,that’s one of the main reasons for it
I’ve had Bells before mane you appreciate when your nerves in your face start back working
Thank you, I did notice that during the game especially the closeup when Joel was on the bench. I’m hoping Joel has spoken to at least the doctors on staff with the 76ers and that something is being done.

Been waiting for this for awhile. It’s creepy to watch and I don’t know how it was possible so wanted to know thanks Doc
Brian Sutterer MD. MD stands for Mc Double. It's Bell's Palsy. Confirmed by Embiid today.
Man you would probably be so helpful trying to find out why my wife has diplopia. So many doctor visits and so far no answers… great breakdown!
I caught the eye as well and said to myself, "someone in the organization has to see this." He also had a facial fracture few years back. Thanks for the insight!
It was announce Embiid has been treated for mild case of bell's palcey since play in when they win over heat
@briansutterer Could this have anything to do with Embiids Orbital fracture that has now aggravated a cranial nerve?
My dad got bells palsy after his 2nd booster for covid. It's took 6 months for feeling to comeback in his face.

I assume could be a long term effect or nerve damage but it was that same eye that is now getting attention again
I noticed this when Embiid was laying on the ground after his apparent knee injury after his crazy self-alley-oop dunk in game 1
Hey! I called this out! Thanks Doc!
He has Bell’s palsy
He got the jab guys
I’m glad we now know and sharing that injuries and pain to the body disrupt chemistry from rest of the body!
Same thing happened to me before being diagnosed with MS…I hope they get that checked out 🙏🏽
I'm not a medical professional, so I wouldn't feel right saying it's definitely Bell's Palsy. I will say, that with the way he's acting and the way his face is and isn't working, it highly reminds me of how I felt/acted and what my face was doing when my BP first hit. So, at the very least, I wouldn't be surprised to find out it's BP, or some other kind of nerve damage that caused a similar effect.
I thought I was tripping when I saw him blinking last night
The mere fact that this showed up in my suggestions is wild

Embiid previously suffered an orbital fracture to his left eye and had surgery. It's really surprising that I as a casual fan know this but somehow nobody else remembers
He’s had two orbital fractures
It may be due to stress/anxiety. Same thing with Katy Perry a while ago
That was probably an electrolyte deficiency thing.

@@KenKaniff-dw4jwI love the fact that there’s people like you in the world. It really makes us feel like geniuses by knowing basic science.
Embid has an eye injury. Katy Perry has a Neuralink side effect.
Great commentary. late in the 4th qtr. I saw him going downcourt and as he turned his his head he did the number where the rigt eye closed and the left stayed open. I hav some occular issues. first thing I think is they have to get him to an optomalogist. I am sure he drive, and that might not be a safe thing to do with the current condition.
I saw he play and #9 went up, the only thing it could been wasa n elbow. It was the only thing in proximity oof his head. I played a lot of football, and you get weird injuries, but I feel like I have seen this before. I would like to say it will heal over time, but naturally I don't know that.
That walklthrough of the occulas assembly inside the was so medical school, although I didn't uderstand half the word I could still understand what you were talking about. Play like that are band bang plays and sometime the bench doesn't see it. So, they may have only saw the aftermath.
And this where the palyer does his team and himself a disservice. He tries to hide the condition. You can imagine the struggle, and we don't know the pain or the level of pain. He doesn't want to come, because I think he thinks, it is serous enough for them to say that is enoug basketball tonight and he dos not want that.
we'll have to waait and see how it handle but we will be looking for that condition, and mor speculation on that, is if it isn't promply and correctly, it could heal in the state it is in now, and become permanent.
I believe it could be bell's palsy, I had a flare up last year, and my right eye wouldn't close completely and and blink sensation was gone
There’s definitely something shady with the Philly medical staff
Every year smh….
Embiid continues to contribute himself as a case study for the education of medical students around the world.
Them shapeshifters tryna get used to using his body😂
My best friend in high school had Bells Palsy. He was so insecure about it that he refused to leave the house. Joel had to go through it with people breaking down videos frame by frame.
And their season was over in the blink of an eye
@Dr. Sutterer I had something similar like this happened to me where my right eye would blink, but my left eye wouldn’t and then a few days later I had Bells Palsy.
It all started with a metallic taste in my mouth, then a day later the left side of my tongue was numb. In a couple days after that I had face paralysis on my left side.
Did you heal?
To this day, about 9 months later, I still haven’t returned to 100%.
I still have a lazy blink and my upper left lip still doesn’t rise all the way when I smile.
I don’t slur anymore or have to wear swimming goggles in the shower anymore so that’s good.
@@NachitoBronco scary :(
A lot of people after the vax had that problem. It is because the facial nerve gets trapped because of inflammation. It is called Bell's palsy.
Maybe it is a secondary effect of some medication for the knee.
