    Just wanted to say many thanks, was painting a flesh golem for bloodbowl and I was inspired by you airbrushing khaki on the jacket I tried drybrushing it on my model and it gave the leather jacket a used look about it which is fantastic so many thanks for that I never would have done that beforehand

    The finished mini? looks impressive. A nice tip the green tone added to the black, fits perfectly with a late 19th century cheap jacket.

    Fantastic work. I took a lot of inspiration from your techniques. I'm getting ready to start the Moebius Bella Lugosi Dracula and I really want to make it look great. Do you know of any other resources I could get for reference material besides Google Images?

    • @ThePaintingClinic
      @ThePaintingClinic  5 років тому

      Nothing specific. I just use Google and check whatever resource sites come up. The movie commentaries sometimes help, but I have no idea if there would be anything useful for Dracula. It's not like there is the same amount of controversy in regards to skin shade as there was with Frankenstein.

    So much layering, are you allowing each layer to completely dry before applying the next?

    I'm about to get my first air brush (mainly doing vinyl model kits)
    should I get gravity or pressure fed? Also is it better to get a bigger
    resevoir? Any recommendations for good starter models? Thanks!

    • @TheRunesmythe
      @TheRunesmythe 7 років тому

      Personally I'd recommend a gravity feed as opposed to a siphon feed; siphon feed is okay if you're using a lot of paint, but for most models and miniatures you're going to be using small quantities of paint and thinner so a gravity feed will help to keep from wasting paint. Another reason to go with gravity over siphon is that no matter the amount of pain a gravity feed will keep working until the reservoir is empty, whereas a siphon feed, because of the way its designed, will only keep paint flowing as long as its at a certain level (i.e. as long as the tube that siphons the paint up is submerged).
      As for reservoir size, it usually comes down to personal preference; there even some people out there that will remove the cup (if possible) and only use the small reservoir in the airbrush where the cup was threaded on. If its something you're worried about, you could always look at airbrush models that come with interchangeable reservoir cup sizes.

    So all these are oil colors right?

    • @TheRunesmythe
      @TheRunesmythe 6 років тому

      He actually used a combination of acrylic and oils paints on the kit; the oil paints were used on the skin tone, added onto a base coat of acrylic. For the clothes, its a combination of Tamiya and Vallejo acrylic paints. The base also uses Badger Minitaire paints (another acrylic) and Vallejo, along with some enamel washes.

    Sir, I am a disabled vet who cannot use my right arm or hand due to injuries while serving in Iraq. My sad bought me the Revell monster models in the late 1960s and recently I saw the re-released and am asking can you paint them for a fee?? I respect and admire your skill and would love to have them as a memory to my late father. Please advise
