Pop Out Cutting on the Cameo 4

- Some select paper and cardstock materials that do NOT have their own backing can be fed directly into the Silhouette Cameo® 4 cutting machine without a cutting mat. The Silhouette machine can then perform a special cutting action, which cuts all the way through the material, even though there is not a cutting mat. The resulting cut job can then be popped out of the material once the cutting action has been completed.
Software Conditions:
Cutting Mat Setting: Off
Material Type Selected: Paper and cardstock materials with no backing
Action Listed: Cut (Pop-out)

What’s the Cameo 4 like cutting sheets of card up to 1.5mm. Does it do A3 ?
Thank for this video .it very nice explain .I have problems in during the cutting design.I have cameo 4 buy recently.my machine not cutting on design edge line .it cutting out side of edge line.what can do about it can you tell me any suggestions.thank you.
First, make sure your mat or media is loaded correctly by using the guide line on the machine to align the left edge of your mat or media to that line. You may also need to reset the tool carriage by sliding it right and left a couple of times while the machine is off, leaving the carriage in the middle, then powering on your machine.

Popup cut is not working on my cameo 4 Machine. Even i use the cutting matt. I tried it in cardstock plain 200 gsm. The blade is not go through the paper, it won't cut out.
Anyone can help me? Or maybe i need to use the rachet blade instead of autoblade?

Yes, you can cut shrink plastic with the Cameo 4. Silhouette sells shrink plastic in clear or white that's specifically made for their machines. I haven't tested other brands in the Cameo 4, but even if it's thicker you have a good chance of cutting it with the extra force available in the Cameo 4.

Siri Nitya To cut Silhouette brand shrink plastic (and probably other brands), you can use the Autoblade. Thick and/or dense materials may have better luck with a kraft blade if the Autoblade doesn’t work on them.
Does it cut a3 paper?
3 days ago, I bought a cameo 4, however I'm having problems with kiss cutting regular sticker paper, both glossy and matte. even at blade 1 force 1, it still cuts all the way through. it cuts too deep that it almost cut through the mat. the blade is adjusting alright. I know it's not the paper that I'm using because I've made a kiss cut before when I first tried the machine, but after that, I can't make a kiss cut again. Can someone suggest something? thanks!

Hey! Waiting on mine in the mail but from what I’ve learned though recommended settings usually work, for best results you may have to tinker with blade selection, software settings (maybe density, force, or new material entirely as the option) or double check your material to Matt application. Hope you stuck with it a year later?
@@JFloridaTech i sold my cutter already. 😅 I tried different settings and actually bought a new blade but nothing worked. Goodluck with your cutter tho!
I found if using non silhouette brand sticker sheets (and using a mat) I have to have my blade on 0, but on 1 in the settings and it works perfect. If I'm not using a mat I can increase the blade to 1.
I have several questions:
Can this cut 2mm thick cardboard?
Can this cut 13x19 inches paper?
Can I import files to cut from illustrator?
If I have an image printed in a paper, will this allow me to cut it out?
I've had mixed results cutting 2 mm cardboard with the 3 mm Kraft Blade for Cameo 4. It is generally quite dense, so it is not as easy as other papers and at the moment requires some trial and error.
It could cut most of a 13 x 19" paper with pop-out cutting as described in this video. The width would be limited to 12 inches on the standard Cameo 4, and the length would be limited to about 18 inches in order to leave room for the rollers to move.

The short answer is yes to cutting an image printed on paper. You can cut an image through Print & Cut if you use registration marks and print it through the Silhouette Studio software. To cut an image that's already printed on paper, you would need to use the PixScan mat.

The popout cut is not working on me, I'm using cameo 4. I tried it in different blade depth until the maximum of 10 it's still not working. The blade is not go through the paper with 200gsm card stock plain. I'm using the same paper as what in the video.

Is that a foam? The Cameo 4 should have no trouble with a 1 mm foam.
@@KellyWayment thanks yes it's a sort of foam it's a bit like under floor insulation but much thinner
@@TheDemon190 Then I would use either the 2 mm deep cut blade or the 2 mm kraft blade. The maximum depth of the normal blade is 1 mm, so it sounds like the depron would max it out. (You could try, but I suspect the 2 mm blades are your best bet.)
Why is it so loud compared to the cameo 3? I thought this was supposed to be more quiet..

I just bought a Cameo 4 and I’m so frustrated with it because I can not figure out how to do it!!! There’s no instructions!!! No nothing!!! Sending it back!!! 😭
Nancy, the problem is there are a bazillion unboxing videos. People don’t give a poot about unboxing. We want to learn how to use it. This is a good machine. I am going to make a good getting started tutorial for all the folks who have never had a cameo and maybe want to use it for non traditional crafts.
@@helgekrawik9301 I will try to get that done this weekend. This machine is a WONDERFUL little vinyl cutter. I am really more involved in the drone business and 3D printing and I thought the "unboxing video fad" went out a couple of years ago but apparently in this particular market people still think they are beneficial :(
I will try to get a video done this weekend that will help folks get started who have never used a cameo and try to approach it from that view point.
nancy cogar there are a lot of tutorials on the design software for the machine. But the actual software manual is digital.

Nothing but aggravation. The “ weeding” can be time consuming. I’m very disappointed with this machine, very over rated
