Rust Belt cities chose economic monocultures and lost the bet. Compare to successful cities with high growth to see what should have been done so more don't repeat the same mistakes. There are plenty of US cities with strong job markets and booming local economies but they diversified their businesses long ago. And those pesky, little domestic, non-union, EAF "mini-mills" that have cropped up all over the country.
That’s sickening to see and a shame that the people who made the steel and money for those executives that cheered for its demolition
