Best times of my life was in Youngstown Ohio. I miss the old days.
Born and raised in Youngstown what a great place to call home
If you go downtown now you will see Youngstown is coming back.
Hardly...
I left 50 years ago and have not looked back. I hate the place, criminals, crooked unions and the gangster pols. They do have world class potholes.
Jiminy Cricketer .....You left out the crooked judges, politicians, sheriff's, prosecutors.
good for you, you sound well adjusted
ANY COMMUNITY CAN BE BASHED BUT WHAT MAKES A COMMUNITY UNIQUE IS IT'S PEOPLE AND A WILLINGNESS TO CHANGE YOUNGSTOWN IS THAT TYPE OF COMMUNITY BE A PART OF THAT CHANGE BY DOING SOMETHING POSITIVE .
Beautiful story
Love my hometown !
Did you know Lisa Ervin on Northside if so this is mom judy
Youngstown burned hot and bright for a hundred years . People lived comfortably in well built homes on the perimeter of the steel mill lined river . The engine of America . It’s still a small city brimming with economic and cultural promise . Spreading out into the once farmland now suburban Ohio townships , the work ethic that grew from the opportunity that Youngstown offered still exists . And the university has grown into a great American campus . It spreads out covering the entire north face of the city . Thousands of students find sanctuary in its buildings and the surrounding of historical overtures . Mill creek park , the largest inner city park in Ohio , has miles of hiking /jogging trails . Rock structure and historical buildings and bridges . The city of Youngstown is a clean safe place . There are bars and art galleries . They are building a park all along the river and have a new amphitheater featuring all type of music festivals .
Youngstown is right off rt 80 that you can drive from NY to Chicago on. Between Akron, Pittsburg, and Cleveland you have your choice of three cities , three airports, NFL football, Major League Baseball , minor league baseball , NBA basketball , big time college sports , great high school sports , concerts and festivals all year around .
And all without the insane road traffic you will experience in most populated areas . No traffic jams . No police saturation .
There’s a racetrack with gaming and another one over the border in West Virginia . There are world class concert venues right downtown Youngstown . There are micro breweries and restaurants . Museums and a world class hospital ,St Elizebeth along with a second hospital two miles north of that one. Anyone in the Mahoning County area can tell you how their own loved one has been saved or born at one of these
I LOVE OLD DAYS AWESOME
I went to YSU in the late 60s. It was a nice town. I never ran into trouble.
On the Northside, I was coming home at night. I was stopped by a group of Black teenagers wanting money. I said that I had none, and they let me go. They could have easily beat me up. I was just an average size guy.

Youngstown went to crap once the Mob was gone
@rcdune7132 I just came across your comment. I thought the mob actually ruined a lovely city. Please explain how any illegal organization helps any city grow without consequences!
I'm from south high 93' lol.
