    Question! I hope you can answer.
    How do you think medical schools will accept hours for shadowing now that the pandemic is happening? In my area it’s almost impossible to get them now.

    • @WriteYourAcceptance
      @WriteYourAcceptance  3 роки тому +1

      Tough call...short answer I haven’t heard directly. Long more complicated spec - . I have seen dental programs cut the hours expected but I haven’t seen much of that. Honestly I think a lot of the shadowing should have been done prior to mid March...so it would be a positive if they see you had been shadowing then it’s the pandemic that halted your activity versus last minute is when you were trying to get as many hours as possible and then you couldn’t. Typically 50-100 hours is really competitive. 25-50 hours can still play well this cycle especially when minimum hours are like 8.

    As for the skew, at least from my experience, osteopathic medical schools do a pretest as well. If you do not hit the mark you are not approved by the dean to officially sit for the actual STEP exam

    Ma'am I'm an Indian , if I want to get into competitive residency like ortho going to sgu will it be a good choice

    • @WriteYourAcceptance
      @WriteYourAcceptance  3 роки тому +1

      That's a question for their residency statistics. You should look into how many / what percentage of their students 1. match (that are allowed to take the exams versus how many students are in the class) and 2. match in a specialty like ortho. My experience with former students have all matched in family medicine.

      I’ve only had a couple students attend Saba and they were happy but here’s a site that has some info. I would compare a few though to corroborate info - m.valuemd.com/saba.php

    Hi, Can you do the Residency in U.S.A.? Thanks.

    • @WriteYourAcceptance
      @WriteYourAcceptance  3 роки тому

      Hi yes but again with doing your due diligence. For example -
      Without certification from the ECFMG, students at Caribbean medical schools will not be able to pursue clinical rotations in the U.S., and graduates of Caribbean med schools cannot secure U.S. residencies and fellowships.

    Hey there! I found your channel through one of my subscribers asking me to collaborate with you in the comments of my recent video. I’m a second year resident and trying to do a series of informative videos with pre med/med students or professionals like yourself! Would love to do something with you if you’d be willing! Maybe zoom or something! Let me know :)
