The real question: how much Doctor Mike is too much?
Trick question, it's never too much! 😉
Cody Mehmet Çatal you can never get too much Doctor Mike!
Nah, btw I’m drinking my first cup of coffee and I love it
Doctor Mike is educational, you can learn a lot from him
There is no such thing as too much Dr. Mike

1.Chest Compressions, Chest Compressions, Chest Compressions
2. Beewoop/Peewoop(up to you)
3. Go see your doctor

Thank you Dr. Mike
Well said. Curiosity is a virtue.
There are a lot of great channels like that. Veritasium, Steve Mould, Brady Haran's channels, Kurzgesagt, Tom Scott, potholer54 etc. are some that I've watched for many years. Really just depends on your interests and there will be high quality videos that can give you a great deal of new insight.

I started drinking coffee when I was sixteen because I didn't like all the sugar in soda. I also started drinking porters and stouts when I was sixteen because I didn't like the then flavorless beers available. I am now fifty-seven but am reasonably sure that I will die any day now:)

Get more vitamin D?
the problem is, that teens actually have different sleep rhythms than those that are required for our standardized world. So basically school starts too early, messing up the circadian rhythm of teens, hence them feeling always tired. Other than that, teens usually do have more energy than, say someone in their thirties or fourties.

In reaction to "artificial" caffeine, an interesting fact is most of this actually started out as coffee. Various coffee companies sell the caffeine collected from the decaffeination process. This is how most soft drink companies add caffeine to drinks.
Just an interesting FYI. No question that energy drinks or "pre-work out" drinks have other chemicals that our bodies treat as stimulants - none of which are regulated.

When people are in extreme pain and, if taken by ambiance, have been given strong drugs, then unfortunately you will get some kickback. Is a hazzard of the job. If you are getting grief from people who have been in hospital a while and are stabilized then you should report them as this is NOT ON. i was in hospital last year for a back opperation and witnessed a nurse being abused by a patient from the middle east that had no respect for women. She took off straight away and a short while later a group of 3 people came by his bed and gave him a good talking too. It didn't happen again.
I think he has talked about it before when reviewing a few of the med tv shows

How harmful is blue light coming from gadgets?
I actually did a small research project on this and most of the evidence found focuses on using screens at night time and how it affects our natural circadian rhythm (our sleep cycle)
@@SianPressly Agreed. Typically harmless as far as the layman knows. Just don't let it fool your brain into thinking the sun is still up.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 has a blue light filter mode where it adjusts the color output to not have the "blue light"
@@SianPressly can you share me your research?
It shouldn’t be harmful, but may mess with your sleep. In short, don’t lie in bed, in the dark, on your phone. (Unless the brightness is really low) It causes eye strain because your eyes dilate in the dark, letting in lots of the light.

I have a suggestion for a topic: poop. Why? Because it's embarrassing for a lot of people of all ages, and there are a lot of health signs it can tell you.
Consistency, color and that stuff is one thing, and then if you have blood in your stool... I know there are many who get the symptoms of having to go regularly, some with blood, and they just wait it out. Because it's embarrassing to go to the doctor about it. "Oh no, my butt, my poop!".
I was the same a bunch of years ago, and had quite bad issues for a couple of months. I waited it out and didn't talk to anyone about it. But it came back half a year later, full force. Having to go to the toilet 10-20 times a day, pooping blood, bad cramps. Went to the doctor and got a diagnose.
I think talking about butts and poop in general helps people to not be so self conscious about it all, helping them to seek help earlier.
Another example of this is the late UA-camr TotalBiscuit who thought he had an IBD because of his stool symptoms, but turned out he had bowel cancer. Now, I don't know if he waited before getting it checked out or not, but if anyone is hesitating - get someone to look at your issues ASAP! The earlier something is discovered, the better.
Lol, this got longer than I first thought :)
@Amy Williams exactly! We need to normalize pooping. And something else that many men are afraid of checking too, is the prostate. (On the topic of butts).
Tf dude!? If you shit blood you go to the doctor! No "embarrassing" not shit.
I’d add that if you start pooping blood, as a women. I know many who don’t go to the doctor. I myself have brushed it aside being like yep. Probably normal. I think it should be something we can openly talk about. I didn’t even know I had issues until an ex was like “you should be going every day “ and I was only going once a week or every two weeks. I genuinely didn’t know that wasn’t normal. Normalizing this is important 👏🏻
@@somedude2492 It's easy to say it when you don't have the issue. If it happens, you might make excuses or find causes yourself to "not go". Like, "I sit a lot, so it's probably hemorrhoids" or "I probably wiped too hard..." and so on.
@@timlarsson how can you bleed your ass of with toilet paper? Then you still have to go to the doctor, not for the bloody shit, but for your superpowers. If you think you have Hemorrhoids, you should still go to the doctor. That's not normal.
you educate me so much thank you

And a glass of water would fix it everytime. So any of you experiencing this, try fixing the snoring first.
As a high school student, I strongly disagree with the notion that we have a lot of energy.😂 Honestly we are all so exhausted from work, extra-cirriculars, and AP classes that most classes are dead silent.

My kid was getting very bad headaches. I have a history of migraines and some of his headaches were similar. The doctor "prescribed" blue light blocking glasses. They've been getting so many students with headaches related to the increased time on chromebooks due to distance learning part of the week. Within a couple weeks his headaches were gone! Which is exactly how long she said it should take if that was the actual problem!
Also for a sore throat in the morning, maybe not everyone but if the air is very cold and dry it can definitely cause a painful sore throat.

Do you think high school students are chronically sleep-deprived? (taking into account when we go to sleep and when we have to be up for school)
im a highschooler and i know i am lol
I'm in college now and I used to complain about sleep deprivation in high school and I wish I never complained. If I had better time management skills I could've gotten 7 hours every night. It was on me. To be fair, I had a circadian disorder of delayed sleep cycle onset. But also, once I was diagnosed, my school would excuse my tardies because of my condition. Again, not their fault a student has a delayed circadian rhythm. And if you're taking 5 APs and have extracurriculars every night, that's on you for overextending yourself, not the school. Sorry for ranting, this comment just reminded me of my past self and past me loved to blame my high school instead of my own time management and not taking responsibility for my condition.

About the limbs falling asleep, that is more than likely some added pressure from certain spots in the spine. After my near-fatal motorcycle collision, I began going to a chiropractor in order to get everything straightened out like it was before the collision. Necessary exercises, stretches, and trigger-point therapy are perfect in those situations. Since I stopped getting what I was getting from my chiropractor, sometimes when I ride my Harley my fingers start to get a bit numb. Same thing happens when I lay down sometimes.
Also, about preworkout drinks, since I am a Certified Fitness Trainer I advise all of my clients about understanding what each ingredient is and what it's functions are. I tell them that before they even consider any preworkout, we need for them to get their entire diet, hydration, and rest in order. With a healthy body, it operates *MUCH* more efficiently than one living off of McDonald's. With that being said, Creatine isn't necessarily a preworkout because it's main purpose is to hydrate the muscles themselves so they don't have to much quit in them so early. Food for thought 💪😀👍
I wonder how many people have gone to their doctor then said “I’m here because Doctor Mike said that there’s something wrong with me.” 😃😂
To the person with occasional chest pain - I also experience this. It's kind of a sharp pain mixed with a tightness, and as you inhale - it gets worse, to the point where it stops your inhalation. I have noticed no patterns as to the trigger / cause. I have however found over time that if I relax myself and inhale very slowly, it will often go away after 2-3 slow breaths. Don't know why it happens - don't know if what I'm doing helps. Just wanted to pass on the info.
Cory Norell thx will try next time it happens
@Cory Norell @Wickara
It is usually an extra systole. Happens more commonly in women than men, but men with benign arrhythmia may also experience it.
What happens is that your heart has an extra beat or skips one due to irregularities in stimuli from the Sinoatrial node (or a stimulous that comes from other electric point of the heart); very common when you sleep less or change your sleeping pattern, overxercise or are on your period (hormonal changes impact electric function). This may be followed by a sharp pain over the heart or chest area. As it forces to beat out of rhythm (I can't for the life of me know if I'm writing this word correctly), you heart needs to reset back to normal, so this contraction will be way more stronger than usual and the next ones may also feel forceful, creating a feeling of tightness. The rest of your chest muscles may compensate and also tighten. This leaves you out of breath (because you respiration is usually in pair with heart beat), it feels like you need to make you work really hard to even get a bit of air inside.
The best technique is to not fight it. If you do not relax, anxiety and panic sets in, leading to tachycardia. This means that after the extra beat, your heart will beat faster and faster and get you tired and out of breath. This is a cycle: if you can't breathe, you panic, and if you panic, it is harder to breathe. I've heard about people actually passing out from hyperventilation and anxiety attacks following and extra systole. The best course is what Cory said. Try to relax; the heart resets itself back to normal. The calmer you are, the less likely it is for you to get a new out of place beat. Stress, anxiety and tiredness (as well as being late in the day) are all triggers for extra systoles. Sit down in a comfortable position (don't lay down because it makes it harder to breathe), inhale as if you were smelling a flower (very slow through your nose) and exhale as if blowing a candle (not too forceful, but quick). To me, it also helps to do some chest stretching afterwards, because it feels like I have a contracture over my left chest.
You could also have an arrhythmia, but if that's it, you can usually feel your heart beating slower, then very faster, then a lot slower. It also causes pain, tightness and discomfort, but usually doesn't make you unable to breathe because it's less forceful and sudden. It's more like as if you got scared or an adrenaline rush.
Anyway, you should check it out at a doctor in case it is a symptom for cardiac disease. But it is usually nothing to worry about.
Source: I'm an EMT who also has sharp chest pain occasionally.
@@sorayaimperial Fantastic write-up considering this is a UA-cam comment section. Thank you very much! It's always bothered me not knowing what was happening. :)
I'm from Mexico and somehow this is a very common experience here? people here call it "getting some air in" (or maybe stuck in?) something like that. It's curious I never thought much of it but thank you for the tips!
I get this normally after drinking a lot of soda or after a large rushed meal.
I too get this really sharp pain from breathing “too hard”. Happens very rarely but still happens
I absolutely love this channel and checked out cells at work because of him😁
I have an addiction
TO DR.MIKE ❤️

It's just been a month, I've started following this channel.. mann everyone's so positive in here. I like the vibe , I like Dr. Varshavski. Great job. Lots of loveee 💋
This channel brings great energy!!
7:09 i also experience this. Ill get a sharp pain on my side and i always just exhale out till i cant anymore and it goes away. Hurts like a mother when i do but it makes it go away.
This episode is LONG before I found your channel but I wish I had been here when it it was published.
I developed what I can best described as a heart murmur when I was around 20. It happened on a day where I had consumed a dead eye late for class (3+ shots of espresso) and an entire pot of drip coffee, black in a single day. I significantly cut back on my caffein intake shortly after and it has gotten progressively better ever since, but still comes back from time to time, particularly in times of extreme stress such as car accidents, sleeping through my alarm or relatives having to go in for surgery as well as when I've had more than 2 cups of coffee in a 6 hour period.
Chile...that shirtless pic lol
MERCH WHERES THE MERCH
Can i get ur ig
Mateja Nedeljkovic @Lena.fazzolari
BlaDe Exploit 👀... oh??
I had no energy in high school. I literally fell asleep in class because I was so tired. Coffee was my only saving grace.
7:06 i have the same thing its called Precordial catch syndrome. Its a very sharp pain that last anywhere from 1 minute to 5 minutes (for me atleast) and gets worse if I breathe in too deeply. But it always goes away on its own by doing absolutely nothing but just sitting. My mom said it looks like I am dieing from the outside, but its completely harmless.
TIL that it's not something that everyone has as very much an adult xD Yeah, I had that as a kid and they told me "it's normal". But it never stopped happening (like maybe once a month? once every few?)
2:30 unexpected thirst trap, be careful! And enjoy 😏 #sharingiscaring
🤗🤗🤗🤗
If Superman hid as a doctor and not a reporter...
I'm like.. why is no one talking about this 😂
I was eating lunch at home while listening to this video, and I randomly turned to look at that screen by pure chance. Long story short: choked on my pasta.
@@Adnama3697 😂
I don't need that kind of negativity against coffee in my life
I like that he wears the stethoscope. Just in case we don’t believe he’s a doctor
Coffee is evil
It can help just dont take it before sleeping or nearly before sleeping he talked about it a lot
@@kyleanderson1435 If you don't consume at least 12 kg / year you're doing it wrong.
espresso has less caffine, drink up
I had random chest pains since little. Been check multiple times never found anything. A doc say it happens to everyone.
I notice if I started working out it started.
It left and recently came back I get them randomly.
Sometimes when I lift heavy other time I can be normal. Relaxing & boom.
that thirst trap at 2:28 was but appreciated... Also I have been drinking coffee since I was like 3... when I used to go to my Grandpa's house he'd make me a cup in the morning put a bit of sugar in it (not much mind you) then as a creamer he'd put Bailey's Irish creme... he always limited me to one cup, but still... my parents never knew he gave me alcohol and I didn't know until I was 22... lol
