  • Back in the Valleys to see some of the last trains during the 1990s. Only Cwmbargoed sees regular weekly trains in 2020 since Aberthaw closed last year. Most of the coal goes to Port Talbot with occasional runs into England as required

Superb!Nothing better than type 3s & 5s working at full tilt on heavy freights. They seemed to have a unique character & soul about them.

These videos are really interesting. I'm having a diesel TMD & Wagon repair facility built for me that's set in the mid to late 1990's as EWS is starting to take over. So it's class 60's, 56's & 37's with an assortment of hopper wagons.

The 56 had such an awesome sounding power unit, a soundtrack that really let you know that it had power, the reworked 56-69 just goes Ying Ying ying 😢

I can't believe the state of some of the track, where there many derailments?

All working were slow moving, so no problems ( as far as we know) I don't have inside information ( not working on the railways) I'm just an enthusiast!

I doubt there were many -- the HSE would be all over them if there were. To those of us who normally only see trains on the mainline, it can be really surprising what appallingly bad track trains can tolerate. Look at some videos of American short lines and you'll see track that makes this look like a TGV line, but the trains just plod along and stay upright.
