- April 2022: As filming for Mission Impossible 8 was in full swing in Hoedspruit he arrived with a small team, in helicopters and planes... The movie is directed by Christopher McQuarrie. Tom Cruise personally flew his own chopper, McQuarrie was one of his passengers both times he took off in his chopper in Ladysmith KZN, South Africa. All of the footage in this video is from his first visit to Ladysmith. Tom's helicopter is The Eurocopter AS350 Écureuil, now called an Airbus Helicopters H125, is a single-engine light utility helicopter originally designed and manufactured in France by Aérospatiale and Eurocopter. Although Tom and McQuarrie is always good in picking the right locations for filming , i really hope they not going to kill off Rebecca Ferguson's character
A lot of people seem to be worried about the fate of Rebecca Ferguson's character. Sadly none of his Mission Impossible 8 co-stars landed at the airfield that we could see or identify. But masks made it difficult.

Yeah when they were operating in the covid-19 bubble it really was the only protection we knew existed. Amazing to think what a year or two does. We went from isolation, masks and fear to vaccines and a who cares attitude once again :)
I remember, he needed to prove that filming can take place under Covid rules.

It was in South Africa. His own bodyguard did not appear to be armed but there were others spread out who were South African and most likely armed
Lets just hope that they will be safe from this country and its lunatics. We dont want such a legend to have bad memories of our corrupted country
The visit took place in April 2022, a year ago. Sadly if it was a bad impression it is too late. Luckily people see what they want to see. By all accounts he loved South Africa. A film crew bubble, especially a Covid 19 one is a very closed environment :)

Got masks on, like they actually do a dang thing 🙄🤦 My uncle worked in the movies before the cvid. I asked him what he was doing and he told me, "blowing air on Tom Cruise" 😂
When this was filmed it was still a thing in South Africa to wear masks. A lot of people had stopped wearing them but it was not unusual to see people wearing them still. Today nobody wears them. In this case I am sure he only wore it to make the media's job hard :)

It kept him making films while every other filmset was closed down during the pandemic. Also it makes taking photos and videos harder for the press. In this case they were not that happy we were there. But we promised not to go too close and eventually got the video.
