The 70s retro pattern was really cute when my mother made it for me in 1972! Of course, I was 17 and weighed 100 lbs! Looked great with my platform wedges.
I like the Brandi Jones loungewear. And I feel the same way about the parachute skirt. It’s not pretty but it’s different and kind of cool. I think how it’s styled will either make or break it.
I always enjoy your commentary on pattern drops and this one does not disappoint. Too funny. I'm not a Laura Ashley type either. Some real hits and big misses here. As you, I love the romper ooooh and the shirtdress! The men's shirt, Brandi Joan's patterns are big hits with me! MUST HAVES!! We have similar tastes. I'm not a big fan of the handkerchief look either. Your son's christening suit is really beautiful. Exciting pattern drop! Thanks.
The rompers is really cute but I would like it better as a dress. The men's shirt is a repeat with a slight variation ive made it before and it makes a fun shirt with lots of possibilities ❤ love these videos😊
So many I really liked. I’m getting ready to try 2 new pattern companies I found out about on line. They are called Lekala and one is Tailornova. They are online pattern sites that print your patterns to your personal measurements. It’s just a few measurements and they have instructions on how to measure yourself. Very reasonable prices on ones at Lekala. Tailornova is little more pricey but you also get to pick out sleeves, waist style, neck line, and hem you like. Also my big and best news. I just won a $100.00 gift card for fabric at Rick Rack textiles. I entered a contest from Janine sews and won it. Nearly fell out of my seat when I heard my name.
Super cute. I love that dress. I was on the fence on whether I should include Simplicity patterns here. I felt that it would make for a super long video.
Haaaa “Dont come for me”. So funny. Those bubble skirts are a hard no for me. OMG baby Seby!!! So freaking adorable and the christening outfit-brilliant! WTH with those pants with thigh pockets??? Gross! LOVE the jumpsuit witth overlay. Wouldnt that be great for Frocktails?! Thanks for the great preview!!!
While it appears no one here would agree with me, I suspect their comments have been scrubbed. I find your rating system and personal comments quite mean spirited. I also find their is a lack of knowledge regarding trends and other sewing knowledge and why you are seeing what you are seeing in the pattern offerings by Vogue. Until you gain more knowlege regarding fashion, style, trends, and sewing higher end styles, fabrics and garments, I suggest your make clear to your followers that these are your personal views, not reviews based on having sewn the garments or knowledge of such. Boockle?
Hi Bunnypep. Welcome to my comment section where I don’t scrub crappy things that people say. It’s interesting that you accuse me of being mean spirited considering the tone of this comment and how you are clearly coming for me. 😂 I must have said your favorite patterns were ugly. If you read the other comments, you’d see the people who agree with my opinions. It says a lot about you that you assumed the comments are curated. There’s always someone wanting to cast stones at others, and here you are! May I suggest you rewatch the beginning of the video where I clearly stated in very plain language that these are my opinions and that others may have varying opinions. But clearly you’re too self righteous and busy trying to tear me down to care. While I can say many things about you from just your picture and comment here, I’ll leave it at this: You clearly don’t have a sense of humor.
Oh, and how adorable was your son! And you too!!
Thanks! That’s my absolute favorite pic of us. Those chunky thighs!

Really wish I could see a pic! Sounds adorable
My daughter needs that romper!
Wasn’t it nice?! 🥰
Thanks for the baby pictures! So sweet💕
That pic is my all time fave!

I agree! I’m totally gonna get that pattern. I’m sure there will be plenty in the drawers when I’m ready to make it, so I won’t rush.
Hi Mari. Nothing really caught my eye too much! Thanks for sharing this Mari. Well the baby romper is cute. 😅
Thanks. Sometimes it is like that. There’s been seasons when I felt like everything was just a dud
There are a few that caught my eye, but I will be looking through my stash first to see if I have something similar.
With that stash you should always have something similar

But the big question is… did you like the blue parachute skirt 😂😂😂
@@MariSews Hmmmmm it might be fun to make but I would not be wearing it! 🤪

Isn’t it funny how many “new” patterns are repeats! That asymmetric knit dress is also a rerelease. Auset’s treasures had the originals.
@@MariSews I know there are so many that are. Always think didn't I see that somewhere before?🧐

Congrats!!! That’s amazing. I’ve never heard of tailornova but it sounds really good. I’m definitely going to try it out
I added S9886 to my favorites list! just waiting for a sale. I think this one was also a new one?

😅Ah! @@MariSews my bad. The video was on Mccalls only... I need more coffe ☕
@VoxAtelier me too!
@VoxAtelier I have my eye on the one as well. But I want to do it in a maxi!
@@AusetsStitchedTreasures I honestly think I love all views of this dress. This is rare

Those thigh pockets were so BAD! sheesh. And yes it would be fantastic for Frocktails
Just found your channel! Where was it hiding. Do you have the first edition 770?
Hi Melissa! I’m not sure which pattern you’re referring to. So sorry
@@MariSewsyour sewing machine
@@Melissabarelyhere oh! To tell you the truth, I don’t know which edition it is.
Oh yes, the leggings, the envelope back says it’s got pockets.
Thank goodness!
Some rip stop nylon on that parachute skirt..lol
Yes. That’s what it’s called. I need to grab some 😂😂😂 I know it’s an “ugly” pattern, but I like it!
I think there are many instances when the fabric “makes” the garment. A simple shift with a self-tie belt might be very boring in different fabric.
Very true! I agree 💯
I agree feels dated. That romper is cute! I am not a fan of split legs on leggings. That vest is dowdy - no thank you.
I know! That vest…why?!?!
Agreed with you on everything BUT that parachute skirt. That is horrendous, lacks style & imagination, imo. Thanks for the review.
Yeah, it’s definitely one of those patterns that evoke strong opinions. Funny thing is, I know it’s ugly but I can’t help but to like it 😂
McCall's is just so bad at styling 😂. It's fun to watch you go through your thought process. Definitely nothing for me though. Thanks for sharing.
I’ll be honest, I was surprised that liked that blueberry parachute skirt so much. Can’t help it
@@MariSews I won't fight you for it - but I know it will look amazing on you!

It doesn’t matter which comment section you meant to add this nasty and judgmental comment.
