Fun Fact: I got my first REAL ass whippin’ for ordering Thuggish Ruggish Bone on “The Box” about 50 times over week’s time. 😂

So so SOooo glad that GOD protected me from this evil and wicked music industry. All my attempts to get signed by a major label were blocked unbeknownst to me at the time, it was for VERY GOOD REASON. God knew EXACTLY what he was doin'!
Same, I get it. 🙏🏼
Maybe its just because you were trash?🚮🤷
The same thing happened to me over the years I did talent shows and tried performing for Jive Records and each time things went wrong being cancelled just weird stuff happening.

The dj u-neek's remix is hard 2

Love the original Crossroads
Salute to Bone Thugs and Harmony💯
It surely was a different time and a time hard to forget.
They *still* deserve so much more recognition than they've gotten & the money!!!
Facts!
They have gotten plenty of recognition back in the days when they were out.
Maybe you weren't around in the 90s cuz you couldn't escape this group back then, they were fu*kn Huge
@@marvingonzalez6891
I was in fact around in the 90's & was of an age where I'm very familiar with their they were one of the most popular hip hop groups at that time. My comment was speaking to current times which is why I used the word "deserve" rather than the past tense deserv[ed]. If you remember the "Box" they had the most requested song for a few years. I believe it was 94-95 but don't quote me on the years because I'm not positive. I'm sure you can agree hip hop has become significantly more main stream just within the last 10-20 years. Yet, they are often overlooked for their contributions to the rap game. Make sense?

When he said the Box damn that took me back, South Central Cartel, Real Mf-ing G's and bone used to play all day, damn I miss The Box 👀
Mind refresher for real big facts 💯
Helllll yeah!!!
You know that you've won in life when you become richer than money itself, but your nickname is "Layzie"
Lol 😆
Layzie Bone looks great , he still looks the exact same, he hasnt aged a bit. So talented !!! I loved these guys not only because of their good beats but because their whole storey as young boys reaching to the top all they went through, never gave up, taking the bus ,missing meals, going clear across the country on a dream they had , and this was before social media, so they had to do actual foot work , they are something special for real, and deserve the recognition, it really bothers me that migos cant give them the respect, cause really they paved the way for them to be where they are, i mean come on , how can they not see that??
Thinking about seeing the video "Thuggish Ruggish BONE" for the first time on *The Box* STILL gives me chills to this day!
I remember crossroads on the box in 1999 when I lived in Oregon. It was promoted as part of a Halloween throwback play and I felt someone somewhere really missed the point of that song.
❤️✊🏽Layzie a real one ☝🏽 always keeping it real!!! BTNH4LIFE!!!
I'm 26, I was blessed to have uncles put me on to all the dope music from the 90s and what not. I was singing thuggish ruggish bone since I was in the cradle
I can't believe it mehn. Lazy coming out so down to earth like this. Imagine riding on the bus and hearing ur songs in a Mad car. They had to fight for they money and all that. These dudes r legends mehn. We respect y'all.

ONE OF MY FAVORITE GROUPS OF ALL TIME!! ESPECIALLY GOING UP IN DA 90's💯
I love how they label the videos these days. There's no dirty little secrets in the industry. I worked for Luke Recordes back in the 90s. The problem was that these guys weren't smart enough to hire a lawyer to look over their paperwork. Black artist for many decades would see the money and sign everything away because they didn't take the time to hire someone to look over the deal. Advancement means just that, its a loan that you have to pay back. Ray Charles was one of the first black artist to own his masters. He couldn't see, but he wasn't so blind that he didn't have a lawyer.
So true.
Wisdom!
Ray Charles operated his own music by pretending to be Blind. Genius.
Exactly, also, people who are not accustomed to having money will hear and see money and just sign. Exactly, an advance is a loan, not a grant.
@@1inamilliongoddess He even knew when his money count was off. Brilliant.
The record industry sounds like modern day share cropping.
It has always been that way. Artists need to take lessons from Frank Ocean.

I love Lay from the heart ever since the beginning and I know I’ve always had good reason to! this man is such a wise, kind , loving, humble , honest person ♥️ I would honestly give anything to sit and talk to him for a whole evening I would love listening to him talk! 2 years ago my husband and I saw Bone Thugs in concert in Des Monies Iowa and our tickets included a Meet and Great and he was the first one I talked to , he was so appreciative of my love for his music it was like he was so humble that he barley acted famous , he gave me an awesome hug and kissed my cheek it was incredible ♥️

My favorite group of all time….I love them. They definitely deserve their flowers.
Layzie Bone is spitting true facts. Let's check some boxes as we move along.
✅📦
The music business is set up to go against your interest as a human being. This is why lawyers and contracts are involved for those who, "get out of line." They immediately get put back in their places with certain contractual stipulations 📝.
✅📦
The advances are exactly what they are, advances. Similar to that of student loans, personal loans, business loans, etc. What is loaned to you shall be paid back with sweat equity.
✅📦
The "selling ones soul to the devil" aspect of music is you selling yourself (literally) to the big wigs so-to-speak to be put on. When you sell yourself and sign that contract, your soul is literally theirs. Music comes from the soul, and the devils (Hollywood) want it.
✅📦
When they give you an advance, you have to pay it back through your royalties. This is why many artist love doing shows because they get paid upfront on the backend. However, they still have to report the songs performed to the label which tracks all of that data anyway. Then after you die, and you still haven't fulfilled your contractual obligations to your label? Better believe they will still make money from you.
✅📦
Publishing: it is the way they make money from you beyond the grave (take DMX for instance). All of whom had their hands in DMX's projects (all of the Ruff Ryders, Swizz Beats, producers,) etc., all get royalty checks which multiplid after X's death (and they will keep getting it until the end of time - including Diddy with Biggie's music).
✅📦
Own your own masters before the masters own you: because if you do not own your masters, you will one day hear your song in full, or remixed on some one else's instrumental or EDM track on a TV commercial or sports game (football, basketball, hockey, whatever). And guess what? You won't get paid for that, because the record company that sold your music license for those commercials are getting the money. Which, in effect, goes toward the advance that they gave you anyway, so either way you won't see a dime.
I'm done, own your own shxt, stay frosty.
When they gonna make a bio movie about them??
Krayzie Bone said its gonna be series like the Wu tang show kuz its to much to put in a 2hr movie

Bone thugs and harmony was and still is the shit.... To this day they are legends
I can't understand why any artists in the generations after times like Motown don't learn from music contract scams from those times. Every decade or Era, these performers talking about how they got ripped off. But I guess they are being so desperate for some cash that they sign on any dotted line. Sad...
Yes. it's sad but it's totally understandable. You or I would do the EXACT same thing we were poor and desperate, and needed money or food, and a famous producer signed us to a major record label deal.
I remember that first album creeping on a come up. I was in Chicago listening to it rolling around with some ol Gs

I ran them streets of Watson Ave back in the 80's and 90's.. Where there was codes that gangsters and hustlers' lived by.. And that was RESPECT and Loyalty!! Which at onetime people respected the life and the codes of the streets!!! The streets are disfigured by the youth that think they know everything and don't even know how to aim!!! So this is why I retired put my gloves up after doing a nice stretch!!! You learn that if you don't listen to as they say these old heads then the streets will certainly raise you teach you the hard way about hustling then send you back to your family in a body bag!!!!
