Have you ever tried to work with the beavers? Like where they dam then put pipes in the ground so some water all ways can get around the damn? 3 or 4 pipes on each side about the with of your hand should let a good amount of water to always flow but allowing them to back some water up to help the wild life.
@@jonathanbair523 What about the soil erosion? What about the dead and dying forests and grasslands? Dying grass not good food for wild deer and other animals. What about holes in the fields that are dangerous for farmers and destructive to farm equipment? What about lost income because wet farmland won't grow crops, which in Lithuania means grains used for making food for humans and food for cattle?
Always remember everbody has an opinion,..I say do them the way YOU want ,..you have been doing this a long time,..now me ,..I just enjoy what you do,..
Regular viewers of this channel may be interested to know that in Lithuania, artificial drainage is a common agricultural practice and the the country is one of the most extensively drained in the world. The total drained land area occupies nearly half of the country's land area and over three-quarters of the agricultural land area so there are a lot of ditches to maintain. In view of this and the fact that beavers in Lithuania are a protected species it results in a lot of dams in the drainage ditches, many of which cause problems for farms by raising the local water table. Mantas does good work in clearing the dams, particularly the old and big ones like the dam in this video. I've watched most of his videos and the drop in water level after the ponds are drained is always massive.
I've been wondering why the farmers don't take care of the drainage ditches themselves. If it was my land I'd do what ever it took to keep the ground free of standing pools of water. And since it doesn't seem they do, I guess there's a good reason for that?
I am from the USA and the first thing I learned is that there are beavers in Europe. When studying American history before the colonization really got started by England starting in 1607, there were French trappers all over North America killing beavers for the pelts to send back to Europe. For some reason that made me think the beaver pelts were a novelty in Europe. I have since learned that beavers in North America, who are bigger than their European cousins, were both hunted to near extinction and are protected because of that. There is a UA-camr Post10 who mostly clears beaver dams from culverts in Maine, which is the northern most part of the east coast of North America. Park rangers patrol the area where a lot of logging is done. When they need to get rid of some beavers that are causing flooding on roads used by big logging trucks, they don’t kill them but trap them and relocate them so their dams can create needed habitat in a different place.
I've been hunting around my own area looking for (harmful to surroundings) beaver dams to try and take it apart your way so I can watch it cave first hand because I agree your way is the most satisfying way to release a dam
Holaa...te arriesgaste arto Keny..por favor no te pongas en peligro..si esa agua te alcanza no estarías bien. Me gustan tus videos..💪💪👍👍💖cuidate amigo. Saludos desde Chile 🇨🇱🙋♀️
This is the second video I have watched of yours and you said some of the watchers want you to start from the top. The way you do it is the best way, a little dangerous, but more effective.
I've seen lots of beaver dams in the US but Lithuania is apparently the home of super beavers! I can't believe how large some those dams are and that you take them down with hand tools! Hopefully Santa will bring you a Volvo EC220 with a progressive link thumb for Christmas.
Hello Mantas. You said something the other day that is on my mind. If No one is controlling the beaver population. You will have a serious problem in your entire water system and water ways. The good news. You will have many more dams to take down.
People started watching you because what you're doing is interesting, as well as satisfying to watch. Do things the way you want to do it. That's why we started watching you in the first place.
Mate keep doing it the way you do. Like you I love how you dig away at the bottom of the dam and then let it collapse and destroy itself. A great video and I look forward to watching the next one. With love from Australia 🤙😎🇦🇺
Get yourself a pair on electric clippers. Like the Milwaukee M12 2534-21 steel curved cordless pruner. Or the DeWalt 20v MAX steel cordless pruner. I use one and it is great. Chop, Cut, Prune. fast and easy. Sharper than beavers teeth. Lot of water those beavers must be BIG.
The view facing the dam with all the old branches is a perfect picture for a calendar. Beautiful scene. I am pretty sure however you break down the dam is irrelevant, what you are doing works for you so it’s all good.
Absolutely a wonderful video. It is obvious that you are someone who is in love with his country and takes pride in caring for the land. As someone who has a heritage in the Baltic Region, it is wonderful to see these videos. Grandpa was from Gdansk and Grandma was from Bohemia. The most beautiful and wonderful woman that I dated was a first generation from Lituania (her parents came from Vilnius). She was absolutely beautiful. So I know that your wife is a wonderful and beautiful woman. You are a fortunate man. May you be blessed your entire life.
Tall Beaver 🦫 Dam . i enjoy watching you no matter how you take it down . Very cool collapse , it released a huge amount of water 💧 loved the waterfall effect , but PLEASE be careful , i don't want to see you caught in a collapse .
Damn, you have lots of beavers in Lithuania. Wont take the beavers long to rebuild/repair that dam with all the left over branches , they are very industrious
Great video.as you said that is a old dam and a big one. I agree, plus the way the material is broken down that made it easier for the dam to collapse.just be safe, don’t get caught up in the collapse,I’m sure that would not be fun.as always you outdid yourself.be safe.👍👍👍😎😎😎
You keep doing you. I understand that there's going to be people who tell you different ways to do it, but I love how you do things. Well done, and keep up the fantastic work.
Looks like this one was quite difficult! Good job to get it all down. I agree, it looks like it has been there for a long time. Those sticks looked like starting to get rotten but still holding back the water and mud. Watch daily for your new posts. Thanks for your efforts.
Thank you for the video and the Thanksgiving wishes for your US viewers. We are grateful for you and your channel. Thanksgiving in the US is the 4th Thursday in November so you got it exactly right.
Thursday, thank you. Called Black Friday because it is the day after Thanksgiving...worst shopping day ever...and I still say the beavers are out to get you...
Hello Mantas Such an excellent and exciting video, you released so much water Thank you for your hard work, now enjoy your weekend relaxing with your family, you truly deserve it after this massive effort Cheers Maria 🦘❤️❤️❤️
Hey friend Happy Thanksgiving bro. Hi my name is Steven from the states Navarre Florida keep up that hard work stay safe and we hope you have a wonderful holiday season . We love the the show bro ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️
Great video!! Seeing the piles of trash occasionally gave me pause; I was afraid that all the litter bug slobs lived on this side of the Atlantic (USA)!
Love watching your videos 😊 So I was thinking... is it a paid job or is it your hobby? I belive that what you are doing is really good for both body and soul 💖🤗
That was a dangerous dam all the way around. The height meant you had some serious water pressure behind it. The age made it unpredictable from rotting structures to leaks. Did you dig out the mud on the water side any before taking sticks out ? Mažė would not be happy if Tetis got injured. Especially if he could not play or work enough for her to edit videos. Good but risky job
That was a huge amount of water you released. Sometimes you can tell how hard you've worked by how many mud specks you have on your face 😆. After this one you look like you had a skin condition 😊. Thanks for Thanksgiving wishes too.
If You would like to be part of my activity! I would be very grateful: www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=BNUME5JQY4CLU

@chasingclouds4412 Post 10 used to be good, now too much driving and talking then occasionally unclogging something.
Great video Mantas and kick ass music for the drone footage.

Cheaper than going to the gym plus you probably have a good sense of accomplishment after removing a dam.
Yeah😀
