I became legally blind at the age of 36. Due to a car accident, I woke up this way in the hospital. I will be 60 years old this year. I am so grateful to have found you because I am now wearing make up again. The way you do your details of how to wear make up, So grateful to have found you. Actually my accident was on Valentine’s Day. What a memory I have involved because of people like you. You are inspiring and thank you so much.

Sending U wholehearted Tks f sharing all yr beauty tips w us. As a woman who has reached her silver-lining age w hair falling off my scalp & getting flyaway in a recent passport photo on top of losing my eyebrows & eyelashes due to medications prescribed by my lady doctors. I found going to temporarily solution of Henna-tinting not only a waste of time & money, so hv resorted to a 2- in -1 brow pencil I paid A$28/- f. There's also a compact case of half dark-brown & half black sponge w a sponge applicator which dried up quickly that costs just as expensive. My skin is getting drier & sensitive as I Aged so I hv to resort to a daily routine of facial Cleanse, Tone w a light spray of mist followed w a Day moisturiser w SPF30+ before I head out of the house. I hv to admit I did not follow-up w a nightly routine of cleaning & moisturising w a rich night cream. Hence the results of sagging skin on both sides of my lower jawline. Is it too late f a Reversed Renewal Night Cream that works to save the day f me 🙏 pls Nikol Johnson?

These tips are very helpful. I’m 61 years young and have transitioned to my natural hair color (shiny silver). Re-learning to apply makeup as a woman post menopause has been a challenge. I’ve watched dozens of makeup tutorials and yours are by far the best. Thank you Nikol❤️❤️

‘This is me’, well I like ‘this is me’ and anyone who complains about how your hair bothers them or why have black eyebrows when your hair is grey, well I am sure they can find another channel to watch. I really like your honest approach and sometimes funny presentation. 💐💐

Can't even believe anyone says anything about your gray hair/black eyebrows! That is NOT a new or unusual phenomenon. Who do you know whose eyebrows match they're hair that actually looks good?!? Like when one dyes their hair red....and then tries to match their brows...ugh....it looks SO unnatural and bizarre! Natural colors, yes! Dyed to match or red permanent make-up brows look ridiculous, especially when it fades to purple. Nikol, you are beautifully natural looking, even after all the "applications" you do so well ! Thank u!

I'm 58, and my favorite eyeshadow finish has lately been *satin.* Satin finish shadows are hard to find, though; most often the choices are dead-flat matte or visible-from-space metallics. Someone needs to come out with an *extensive* range of satins! I would buy them *ALL!*

Dear Nicol I'm Sooooo glad I've just found you! Love your looks and admire your spirit! Your fierce aging series helped me so much in so many ways... not just in the way I do my makeup. Getting older and gray doesn't mean we have to become invisible and disappear into the gray zone! You're an amazing, awesome woman! And what a coincidence!!!! Greek! So from a 59 year young, Greek sister, all the way from Athens Greece, many hugs and kisses Thank you for being you!

I didn't think there was that much difference between black liner and chocolate liner, until I used a black liner on 1 eye and dark brown on the other eye. My goodness...there really is a big difference! Now, when I think of black liner, I think dramatic details....and I really don't need that during the day. And when I use dark brown or chocolate, I think subdued details.....great for the day. Enjoyed this one! 💙

I’m new to your channel, and I’m enjoying your videos so much! I agree with everything you’ve said... it’s so true that less is more as we age. Our old makeup techniques just become a habit over time, and it’s so important to stop at some point and critique our makeup in the mirror... because what worked at 30 just does not work at 60. Thank you for instructing and giving such wonderful advice!

I am 53 and I think I’m 75% grey. I started getting grey hair when I was 15. (Early grey just runs in my family) ~ I still dye my hair. I don’t think I’m quite ready to go grey yet…. It’s definitely tempting though looking at your hair!! Truly beautiful!
I don’t know who on earth is commenting about hair on your shirt?!?! 🙄 don’t pay attention to them Nikol
It wasn’t until I turned 50 that I started a good face care regime and started to learn more about makeup (I’ve always been a wash and go hippie girl … so to speak). I want to thank you for your UA-cam videos because I have learned SO MUCH!! I also love your tutorials with your mother… my mother is 77 and I try a lot of your techniques with her also! Your Mom is just awesome!! She’s such a trooper!! Let her know that we really love her too!!

You look GORGEOUS in this video! I love your new hair length. It’s perfect! I love your cute black top with the red hearts. Perfect! I Love the red lipstick with your outfit. Perfect! You are an obvious Winter and look so beautiful in the Winter colors. Sometimes you wear red lipstick with pale clothing, and it makes you look like you are all lips; but with your cool colors on, they blend in perfectly. I just can’t get over how great you look today! Thanks for the reminders. I especially needed the one about putting on the moisturizer first. I was not doing that. You can use so much less foundation and concealer if you use the moisturizer. The combo looks much smoother and my skin looks at least 10 years younger. I was also applying my eyeliner to far from my lash line. Now I tickle my lashes with the liner and the result is much nicer and more refined. Also went back to using my eyelash curler. Today my makeup looks much more elegant thanks to your tips.

I'm 71, I have sort of salt and pepper not a lot, but got this little patchy or grey up front.. problem is, my hair has gotten like a dark brown. I just really hate the color. It does get darker before it goes grey. You see pictures of women with beautiful grey hair. Then mine looks washed out or ugly to me. So I get how you feel. I'm fair complected. And I feel that darker skin looks much more attractive with grey hair.

For the past few years, I've been hearing all kinds of advice from hair color to makeup to clothing. I tried following other people's advice and changing my look but ultimately I've decided that I have to feel comfortable in my own skin. I'm 68 and due to some absolutely incredible genetics on both sides of my family plus some skin-care rules I try never to deviate from, I am fortunate enough to look 45. I haven't had plastic surgery (except for a rhinoplasty when I was 26), no fillers or injections, and, well it is what it is. My hair only is true silver at the front hairline, with a sprinkle through the rest of my head. I let it go totally natural, being urged to age gracefully, and the result was a disaster. My hair has faded to a mousy brown and adding the small amount of silver made me look like an old woman. Never mind that I didn't have wrinkles or was an expert at doing my makeup, I looked OLD! So I decided. Out came the very dark brown dye, my hair was my favorite shade (and my late husband's) and the years fell off. With regard to makeup, I'm always interested in learning new tips. However, some things I've been doing for years and attempting to change just result in a disaster. My skin tone is the palest white ivory. I've only, over the years, found a couple of people fairer than myself. Trying a foundation with more color to "warm me up" just leaves me with a pink face attached to a white neck and chest. So I stick to the very fairest, non-yellow, ivory there is and any color added is usually a tiny bit of bronzer. I will admit I've gotten a great deal of help with eye shadow application and changes of color. I was heavily into frosted or shiny shadow when younger and I've found this can, indeed, be aging to the skin on the eyelid. So I go with more mattes and add just a touch of frost to lighten it up. I think that for women like you, silver hair is just gorgeous. But not for me so I made the decision that makes me look best. Sometimes certain things may be wrong for the majority of women but totally right for the few of us.

You helped me so much, thank you. I wish I could have you help me get started. I have a lot of issues, lol. My hair used to be as thick as yours and now I’m losing it like crazy...and I mean thank goodness I had such thick hair because I would be bald by now. I never wear makeup anymore because I don’t feel attractive, lots of health issues and my boyfriend (how silly to say at my age) never EVER has complemented me, so I stopped caring. I never used to be that way. I didn’t like to leave the house without looking pretty, or at least feeling that way. I haven’t felt that way in 10 years. You are so down to earth, I just like you so much, thank you for these videos. Where can I get some of your makeup? I need all the help I can get, haha. I forgot to say I started letting my hair go gray ( I started going gray early, my 20’s ) and I’m just sick of coloring it, I had beautiful Dark Auburn hair. It is Silver and some places snow white gray. My skin has a ruddy tone to it with some Rosacea. Any advice would be wonderful. Have a wonderful day. 💫

You rock, Nikol! How I wish you could create a specialized skincare and makeup routine for me personally. I do/did before the pandemic, go to the department store makeup counters and get color recommendations. However, I always felt like they were too beige. So, foundation color is my biggest challenge. My hair color is a blondish silver around my face and fades into a dark brown towards the sides and back. Sounds weird, but I like the contrast. I’m 65 years old and fighting liver cancer. I’ve not kept up with my skin care regimen during this time, but I still look fairly good. 😉 I think I should get back into the skincare game. Don’t you? Enjoy Valentine’s Day!

I'm only 1:40 in and I'm like OMG! I'm always lapping my jeans over with a big safety pin on the inside but I can't believe I have missed these little stud buttons! Genius! You are so fun and informative. Honestly you look so sophisticated and "worldly" but you are so real and "best friendish" (I know, not a real word but you get it!). I love your channel and you! Now to finish watching...

Hi, there. I started watching your channel, in part, because you are the only person I've seen who has the same more coarse, thick hair (although mine's like yours at the crown, wavy in the middle and curly the bottom which is a challenge) grey hair. My husband says I shed as much as the cat and indeed I do. Those women are just jealous that we still have so much hair that we can shed like that and still have our beautiful silver manes.

Yes I hear you. Practice with some lashes you glue on. Or go to the eyebrow shop. They have lashes there and they have eyebrow dye. Lasts a month. It's really worth it. I loved it. You wake up, see yourself in the mirror. First thing in the am. You'll feel good about yourself. That and a wig.... You'll be your old self. Good luck. Sending you hugs.

I'm turning 60 in a couple of days and I love my red and berry lips. I've been wearing red since I was 16 years old and I've done it all with my lips except permanent makeup. In fact, I'm wearing Chanel's Intense Matte Lip Color in Extreme just to vacuum my house. I have a short crew cut in silver and black and I can't wait for my hair to turn white! Thank you Nikol for showing us that we can do what we want and not let society put strains on what older women should do. Just be you but better and as CC would say "If you are sad, add more lipstick and attack."

Hi Nikol, I Loooove your videos, this one especially , concerning the blush technique. I am a 58 year old black american lady and would like to know if I can use the brown or a deep brown eyeliner? I would prefer that especially in spring and summer months. I also started greying at the edges of my hairline at about 22 or 23 years of age. The rest of my hair is still black. I so appreciate you talking about greying this has helped me SOOOOO much. You are the BEST.😚

Great stuff -- we are living longer and we need to be beautiful at every age -- I'm 76 and always trying new looks and new weights (lost almost 40 lbs 9 months ago.) We need to take good care of ourselves so that young people are inspired. Two weeks ago a 26-year old guy said to me in Old Town (Colorado city) "Lady, you're rockin it!" (white hair, hot pink t-shirt and rosy red cowboy boots) I asked "Is it the boots?" He replied "No, it's that pink color; it looks great on you!" We give them hope that there IS a future.
