Always carried 2 spare mags inside IWB. Not cuz I'm anticipating a big movie style gunfight.....but because I'm not a marsoc, seal, ranger, deltaforce sniper. I fully expect to f*** up the reload under stress and adrenaline and stuff
So lucky to have Hilton here. Hope this channel hits a million subscribers. Hilton, with the Vertx pocket carry, I've had very good luck pushing the magazine up from the bottom first and then acquiring my reloading grip rather than trying to dig into the pocket with 2 fingers. Give it a try. You may be even faster!
@@travistucker7317 I haven't owned Levis in about 25 years...but the Vertx are true size to 5.11, Kuhl, REI, Columbia pants. I have the Delta Stretch 2.0, Defiance Jeans, Cutback Technical which are featured in this video. Coupon code is in the info section below.
Always love anything you do Hilton. For myself I'm a big advocate of inside the waistband mag holders. Less visible to out side prey/threats and a + in my book is if I'm doing a combative reload it's open to do so. I carry sometimes front pant pocket as well but you have to train with that method as well. Bottom line carry spare mag always. Great info as always sir. Thank you R.W.
Generally I go gun plus 2 mags that's enough to get me out of the worst case senerio. If it dosnt work, we'll I'm probably not getting out of there. At least I'll give em a good fight
Great video, thanks so much for taking the time to make it. Have you ever tried appendix carrying a spare mag? It seems like a good solution until I try to strap on a blade and quickly run out of hip space. lol
I personally love my horizontal mag pouches. Gives all the benefits of the vertical pouch with none of the cons. Wear it on your front and it doesn't add any width to your waist and keeps you from knocking it on door frames. It's horizontal so you don't get jabbed in the side, ever. As long as your shirt covers your belt it's concealed. "MagHolder" makes a fantastic $25 option for the most popular guns. Bawadimann makes one for the STI mags. The only thing that even remotely prints in one of these carriers is a 21 rounds p320 mag.
I do a 20 round CZ magazine in a soft pocket pistol holster (keeps the magazine oriented up and eliminates printing) I'm the left front pocket. Probably slower than anything in this video, but it works well enough.
I carry a Glock 23 and I have found that the 22 round magazine fits perfectly in my back pocket by it self, the base plate is just above the top of the pocket.
Yes. Also take a hard look at the pouches from Long's Shadow Holsters. Just got a few and they blow away the Comp Tac, which have been my go to for almost 15 years.
108Performance Copy. Thanks. I ordered a double pouch from them along with a duty holster a couple of weeks ago. I’ll circle back and look at the single pouch too.
I would be curious of the times of the neomag vs a regular pants pocket. Since I feel the neomag is marketed to people that dont use a mag pouch and also dont have a mag pocket on their pants.
@@108Performance yes basically the idea of the mag being loose in a regular traditional pocket. I think the neomag main purpose is to help you if you dont have a pocket thats designed for a magazine or a mag pouch but you want to carry a spare mag.
I prefer the back pocket, too, because the front jeans pockets tend to be pulled tight against your hips, making the mag draw much more difficult on average. It's far easier to grab the mag from the rear pocket because that pocket is looser. Also, many people use their left front pocket for a support side flashlight or knife.
Only time you can have too much ammo is if you're swimming or on fire.

Which ones do you have? And can you say how the sizes run as compared to levis?

Try to run the neomag in you front left pocket
Surprised to not see inside waistband mag pouch on left side appendix.
Going to try that soon, prob in Part2 of this video.

I haven't yet, but it's on the radar to try out for Part2 of this topic!
@@108Performance Awesome! Very much looking forward to it.
That's the best way not to "change your profile", not bump into stuff, not tear up leather seats.
looking forward to the 10-8 shop and training my new local guru ! thanks

Are you thinking about having the mag loose in the back pocket? There's enough interest on this video that it seems like Part2 will be warranted.
