Great review but I need to nit pick a little here... the desk top unit you refer to as the "Receiver" is actually the transmitter on an in ear system. The belt pack is the receiver.
I use this same pack for our worship team! And we have the same issue - those clips break off within a month or two. Works as well as the Shures we used to use, but at a quarter of the price. I do prefer the metal body of the Shure, but we are a small church and can't afford to spend that much...
Try turning down the output from your source. I noticed if I get the mix too hot going into my PMT 10, it will distort on peaks. Also, moving it (the transmitter base) away from other electronics and lights seems to help.
I bought one of these for myself a couple months ago. It works well. I grabbed a Neotech Wireless Pouch off Amazon to help protect the pack.
Do you have a link to the one you use? Sounds like a good idea.

Do you hear white noise with it ?
Do you know how many of these you can put together? Can I run 2 PTM-33's together for a mix of 8?

Do you find that you are getting static when there is too much low end?

@@HeyWorshipLeader hmm maybe it is a frequency issue.
