I love all of your wonderfully executed projects. I am going to “borrow” some of your ideas. I have been a ribbon and bead flower maker since the 90’s but adding in the tyvek will be fun. Thanks for sharing, great work!
If you happen across a building site approach the workers and they often throw away a ton of this stuff and since it does not break down all us artists grabbing this out of the landfill would be awesome. I got a roll with about 300 feet still on it that they were going to throw away!!!
I have done this! We have a lot of wind where I live and lots of building of new homes and sometimes it has blown right into my yard! My husband hates it when I go begging for it at building lots... got to love recycle, reuse, reduce!
Thank you for sharing information on using Tyvek in crafts. I do not have any experience with respect to Tyvek and your video is the first I've watched. I purchased letter-sized Tyvek Sheets from Amazon because I make a lot of journals and was looking for a better way to make the spine & hinges stronger. My thinking was because it is tear resistant, it would benefit the longevity of my journals. Do you think this would help, Patti? I am going to look at your other videos to see if you have further information on using Tyvek, like what type of glue is best to use when adhering Tyvek onto Cardstock. Thanks Patti
I sell tyvek on my Etsy store and have a digital how to book with lots of tips and tricks. I love this stuff. I'm working on journal covers in a faux leather look right now. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. www.westmeadowgardens.com
Holaa Patti, me encantan la ideas.por favor dónde puedo comprar ese papel? Lo he buscado en Amazon y en otras tiendas pero no lo encuentro. ❤ Un abrazo ! 😊
I took a picture of the can but no place to add a picture. The brand is Old Masters gel stain, color Vintage Burgundy #84208. This stuff is very stinky and has to be used with good ventilation and then the paperwork/Tyvek has a smell for several days. Then it goes away. Keep adding layers to get a deeper burgundy color. I love it!
Patti, I am wondering if I used pencil, ink pen, permanent magic marker, and highlight markers on this tyvek material to make a game board for a boardgame I put together if the colors would show thru on the other side or not, I especially would be concerned about the permanent magic marker?
It would show through, the permanent marker would stay on but the others you listed would wipe off, it is a "slick" material. I have gotten Stays-on ink to stay permanently and some acrylic paints. Hope that helps
Wow. Fantastic. Thank you.
I never thought of using it this way. Great ideas! Thanks!
I love this product!
Thank you for sharing, you are so very talented and creative.
Thank you for your kind words
the XL Tyvek suit is a good idea. I've been using tyvek mailing envelopes.
