Homesteading/self sufficiency is so rewarding! I didn’t start until late in my life but what has been most rewarding to me is watching my grandchildren grow in this life. You have a beautiful place and family! It is heartwarming to me to see you growing your family in the homestead lifestyle. God Bless 💕
Just came across your channel, and I like it already! Family homestead channels are some of my favorites. I grew up on a farm and there is no better way to raise children, in my opinon. I wish you all the best! I have subscribed and look forward to seeing your journey :) God Bless!
Lady you are teaching your kids much more than how to feed a pig or chicken, you are teaching them about life. Your kids are lucky to be raised on a homestead. Good luck on your adventure..thanks for the videos, God Bless
Great video! Got my 2 yr old to watch this with me instead a paw patrol video and she loved it. We are a family of 8 getting started on our homesteading journey. It would take too many words to explain the crazy adventure we've been on and where we've landed, but I'm working on a vlog episode that catches everyone up on our story. This video was a huge inspiration! Thanks.
Thank you for the kind words! That’s so exciting that you are embarking on your homestead journey! It’s a lot of work but so well worth it! You won’t be sorry!
This is awesome. We also have a 20 acre farm and homeschool 5 kids. We’ve lived here for 4 years and have experienced nearly everything you described. The highs and the lows. Great channel and story. Will definitely keep watching. Good luck!
In 3/4 years ill be able to do this with my girls and i cant wait, excpet i dont want more tha. 3 acres. Anytbing else might feel overwhelming, but this is life. These are the things i miss from back home (Jamaica). I love this for y'all ❤😊
New subscriber and fellow homesteader. My hubby and I found your channel this morning and are watching a couple of your videos. Really enjoying your content, as well as your homestead tour. We also reside in Indiana. Wishing you all the best. Blessings!
We are just starting our homestead and UA-cam channel! We are excited to watch our kids grow and learn new skills as we get our farm going. We have 2 teenagers and a 6 year old at home so it should be interesting. Thank you for your video.
@@HappyBurrowHomestead You're very welcome, i have been also. I only had 2 children and I now have 4 grandchildren, if you're Homestead is not too far I'd like them to see the reindeer in person, I did not know anyone had Reindeer in Indiana.
Hello! New Subscriber Here! Enjoyed this video. Homesteading life is THE BEST life!! Looking forward to getting to know you guys better through our channels! Watching from South Carolina!! GOD Bless Y’all 🙏🏻😇🙌🏻👍🏻☀️☀️
Hoosier here as well. Do you follow a particular curriculum for the kids? My husband and I are moving to our 6acre in a few months and will be homeschooling our little one. Thank you in advance for all your helpful info already.
How much does it cost to run your family farm? I’m curious what the maintenance cost of this is and if you have any profit from the foods your produce?
We have only been here a little over a year and we are still gathering some of that information. We still maintain jobs outside of the homestead for now. The biggest upfront costs have been infrastructure (chicken coops, fencing, etc). We have only producing food for our own family so far but we are hoping to do more outside of that soon! We hope to be full time homesteaders one day!
Hi! We live about 15 minutes from town. We have an amazing community! Our neighbors and church community have been major blessings to us. I think community is very important and we definitely lean on each other. Thanks so much for watching.
We usually try to include them as much as we can but for things like mowing, I just make sure that I can see them and they play outside. Or I do it when they are napping. Also, I have found that a wagon was one of the greatest purchases for outside work with kids! They can use it to pull each other around, gather sticks or leaves, the possibilities are endless for them!
@@tinabraam7776 those can be challenging ages! It wasn’t long ago that we were in the same boat! I used to bring out a bouncer or blanket for the babe to sit in, or something like that while I did some chores. But I worked mostly either before they woke up or while they napped. Baby wearing is also an option!
What kinds of responsibilities do your kids like the most or grow from the most?

It is nice for you to share your family routines.
Love the family! Spent many summers at my Uncle Paul's farm near Bedford IN in the 70's. Big impact on my brother, sisters and me!!
Love hearing that! Seems to be so great for kids!

You remind me of Three rivers Homestead being focused so much on your children, she has many children and also homeschooling them.
Thank you! That’s a huge compliment! I have been following her for years. ☺️

Congratulations!! We use a combination of Mother of Divine Grace and the Good and the Beautiful for our curriculum. We have been very happy with both!

"If you have live stock, you have dead stock". Never quite thought of it that way.
I never did either but I have found it to be true.
Hi there! How far from a major town do you guys live? /do you have a good community close by?

How did you guys do house chores outside when your kids were little
