I’ll be interested to see how you get on with it in the future and hopefully you won’t encounter any problems.
On a different point as you were having problems with calibration on your Loklik cutter, Have you seen that Sure Cuts A Lot V6 now fully links with your Loklik machine and you can design, cut, print and cut and calibrate directly from inside that program. If you already have an older version, the upgrade is not that expensive and so far looks very impressive. Xx
Ive been using it alot for my small handmade business and i really like it, so hopefully that will stay the same. As for SCAL I have V6 but the programme is very buggy for me for I never use it. No matter how many times i try to change the outline of a design to black it never stays that way once i close the programme, also the font list never stays open when i choose it, there are other things too but i cannot remeber as not used it in ages. I just find it very clunky, it takes ages to open as well but maybe I will have to try it again.Do you use it alot, do you have any loading or font isssues? I use it with a Mac wondered if that is why
I previously used V5 quite a lot for converting bought SVG’s to fcm’s for my ScanNcut before it could open svg’s itself. I hadn’t really used it much since then but don’t recall any problems. I decided to upgrade to V6 to get a better linked design software program for my Loklik. TBH I haven’t really had the opportunity to play with it much but hopefully next week I will get a couple of days to get into it more and look at the specific things you mention and I will let you know. It could well be because you use a Mac.
Hi just to let you know i opened SCAL after reading your comments, my software told me i had the latest software, so I was so confused when i didnt see the Loklik cutter in the cutter list. I reached out to @craftedge and they sent me a link to update my software, so i did the update and now the Loklik cutter does show up but despite spending hours printing and cutting both last night and again this morning, my print and cuts are not calibrating properly, so i hope you have better luck. Let me know if you do. I think for now I am going to give up on print and cut for the @Loklik and hope @Loklik themselves will resolve the issues, I know im not the only one have problems with this print and cut.
I do like the machine and I do use it for vinyl cutting and for the money i think its a good machine, just a shame it doesnt do everything that everyone wants from it.
As for SCAL it doesnt seem to be as buggy as it was for me previously so I have been playing about with it, I have been asked several times if I have videos for it so i may have a play and see if i can make a few basic videos, but sadly it wont be including P&C
I'm glad you were able to get SCAL6 updated to include the Loklik and that it's not so buggy for you. I can certainly understand your frustration with the print and cut. Loklik is supposed to be bringing out a big update in June so hopefully they will address this as it's affecting many people and really it's not good enough. Anyway just to add one more thing about Print and Cut in SCAL6 - have you watched the video by "Crafting Fun With Family Unit" titled "Crafting Magic Unveiled: Watch Sure Cuts A Lot and LOKLiK in Action!" - at around the 9.12 mark she talks about and shows calibrating from withing SCAL. It's worth a look. Have a good weekend x
Hi yes i heard theres an updat due for Loklik, so will wait and see. I have seen the video but from memory she didnt actually show the process she went through to make it work. I contacted Craftedge, they suggested printing 4 inch squares and measuring how far out the cut was, and adjust the XY values ive tried all that i have a mountain of printed paper with test cuts and nothing works. I dont have the time or patience to mess about any more, so giving up for now but I will be testing out SCAL for designing and cutting with a SNC. Thank you
Does the power button LED always flash when you turn it off? Thank you
It flashes when i plug it in and stops once i turn the power switch off, then it flashes when i turn it off and then stops. Is that what you mean
