Thank you for this. I plan to walk from St Jean to Logrono in late September (I can only do 14 days vacation) and this vlog is so very helpful. I did Sarria to Santiago last year and it was awesome, but this time I will be doing it solo. I don't know if I can still do it this year though, so hopefully next year this will be my walk.
I really enjoyed the part from St.Jean to Logrono, beautiful scenery, great pinchos and wine! We were hoping to go back to the Camino this year but now it looks very unlikely( Hopefully, next year we all will be able to return to the Camino! Stay safe!
Thankyou for these episodes. I am planning to start the Camino at the start of September which seems to be around the same time of year that you did this. I was surprised that the weather didn’t look as warm and nice as I would have expected. It was really helpful for me.
@@geoffgray8940 You will hopefully love it like I did. One of the best things i have done, and such a sense of achievement getting into Santiago. So many memories and great people met.
@@geoffgray8940 We are very envious here, we have just finished the Camino Frances (end of June) and can't wait to get back on a Camino trail sometime soon 👣 Good luck for the end of August, you will have an amazing time!
Thank you! We were a bit busy with blog things and didn't have enough time for making videos but now we're planning to publish one Episode of the Camino Frances every Sunday. Thank you for watching!
I can't believe how fast you walk, it's practically my jogging pace! I'm excited to give this a go next year when the Corona virus is hopefully no longer a thing
Absolutely brilliant and informative video- thank you! I am extremely excited to be doing myb first Camino, el Camino frances 2nd April 2020 as a solo woman! Glad to see you are hiking this solo too. What did you use to film your video? And what editing tool did you use? Friends and family have asked me to do a video log but I have no fancy equipment just my smartphone. Maybe I need a selfie stick to keep the filming steady? thanks for any tips you can offer!
Thank you very much for the comment! I'm sure you'll have a great time on the Camino! Spring is the most beautiful season for walking! I used GoPro Hero 6 it works great, I took video and photos. I saw some people vlogging using their smartphones new ones have really good cameras it might be enough to make videos. Buen Camino!
I've enjoyed some of your videos and appreciate the information as I'm considering doing a Camino at some point in the future. When did you do this Camino? And what time of year would you recommend doing it to avoid big crowds but still have nice weather?
I walked it in September it's the busiest month on the Camino Frances. We've walked a couple of other Camino routes in May-beginning of June and it was very nice but those routes (the Portuguese and Via de la Plata) are less crowded in general. I find spring is a very nice time for walking in Spain and Portugal it's warm but not too hot, not too many people, many albergues get annual cleaning in winter fewer chances of getting bedbugs, the scenery in spring is very beautiful as well.
@@daniel-t597 Hey Daniel...did you manage to get onto the Camino...we went earlier this year (May - June 2022) and it was amazing weather and some great Pilgrims on route as well 😃
Hi! I'd suggest flying from Cape Town to Paris, Madrid or Barcelona. We always fly from/to CT via Madrid or Barcelona. In this post stingynomads.com/french-way-camino-de-santiago-guide/ we explain step by step how to get to SJPDP from any of these 3 cities with different transport options.
It's a nice place to stop for a coffee but as you get there within two hours of leaving St Jean it makes no sense to stop there for the day - unless you start out late in the afternoon. The vast majority of walkers make it Roncesvalles or beyond (I stopped at Espinal) without any difficulty.
Thank you so much for all info .Wish you can have more videos like this one. I am planing to walk Camino Frances in July.

Lovely video - am really looking forward to walking the camino.
We can't wait to be back on the Camino! Still have a long list of routes that we want to walk.
Just wondering how much more is a pension or private albergue? Thank you

Nice to see the journey of a single woman (but missing Campbell's cheery thumbs up). Buen Camino
Thank you! Campbell was busy hiking in Canada while I was walking the Camino. We decided to split up for two months to cover more ground)

I think we walked together in September?
no Orisson?
Orisson is not a compulsory stop I was pretty confident I'd have no problem to walk from St.Jean to Roncesvalles in one day.

@@carrigman impressive but i need to warch out for my tendons.
@@carrigman certainly not a race to Santiago…it’s nice to stop and enjoy. Go slow in the beginning so you stay strong in the end.
