    Nice new intro and studio ☺️ Thanks for the tips, I struggle with getting a moist vanilla cake. I’m trying simple syrup on my next cake to see how that goes, but I’ll try this next bake. ❤️

    Hi Emily. I gotta tell you, you're by far one of my favorite bakers out here, your tutorials are pure gold. I would be delighted if you could help me with something that as nothing to do with this amazing recipe..I'm struggling with cake combs! I just bought one like the one you use on your lama cake tutorial, I think it is beautiful, but I wasn't able to do that efect on the cake. Notice that I use swiss meringue buttercream... But my question is:do you refrigerate your cakes before using the combs, so that the shape come out 'cleaner'? I'm actually pretty good at smoothing the frosting, have no problem working with spatulas...I don't know...
    Thanks and keep your amazing work :)

      Hi! I have a very detailed tutorial using textured cake combs here that might help: ua-cam.com/video/WvtQmhfVO2I/v-deo.html For textured cake combs I recommend letting the crumb coat set before applying the final coat of frosting and if you refrigerate it, let it sit out for 5 or 10 minutes at room temperature before using he cake comb and that will give you more time to get the texture right before the frosting sets onto the cake. I don't chill the final coat of frosting before using he cake comb, I use it straight away while the frosting is still soft.

    Thankyou so much for all of your recipes and tutorials. I have never had trouble with any of the recipes before but I attempted the very vanilla cake and the middle was SUPER runny after 38 minutes. I ended up having to bake for almost an hour and the cake is VERY moist almost to the point where it seems ‘wet’. Any tips or advice?

    Hi! I tried making this recipe halved for 6" pans and it turned out amazing. But when i did 2 8" pans (recipe adjusted) the middle takes a while to bake through and by the time its done i get really hard top and edges around the cake. Any suggestions how to fix this? Or maybe my calculations were wrong for 2 layers.. Have you got a recipe for 2 8" pans?

    • @BritishGirlBakes
      @BritishGirlBakes  2 роки тому +1

      Oh no! It sounds like one of the quantities was wrong for the 8" batch. I would use the same 6" cake recipe but divide the batter into 2 cake pans instead of 3, unless you want a taller cake?

    • @vytautemcbride6797
      @vytautemcbride6797 2 роки тому +1

      @@BritishGirlBakes yes im trying to get a taller cake, the hight i got from the cakes i baked is excellent. I worked out a single pan quantity from your recipe and doubled it so it would be 2/3 of your one. Not sure if its correct though it also too about an hour to cook..

    This video helped me a lot. It's like m still new for the baking. I always have 1problem with my cake that my cake gets very crusty from the top and I dont like it. I think the temp is the probm but I bake it at 180 degree always. Pls do u hav any solution for this?

    • @BritishGirlBakes
      @BritishGirlBakes  2 роки тому +1

      Are you letting the cake sit out for a while after mixing before baking? If you put the pans on top of the oven while it preheats, the batter will start to melt and the melted butter can form a crisp crust on top of the cake when it bakes.

    • @nikitar3230
      @nikitar3230 2 роки тому +2

      @@BritishGirlBakes no I dont do it. I dont put the batter to rest on the top of preheated oven.
      But I think its temp issue may be...
      That makes my cake crusty from the outer side. What do u think if bake it at 170°c??

    I have a 5 quart tilt-head KitchenAid & after mixing all the ingredients I have maybe a half inch of free space left in the bowl. In the video you have a ton of room left in the bowl. I see in the comments you linked the same type of mixer. I am wondering how you have so much more room left in your mixing bowl.

      I have another question. I am making a gender reveal pinata cake which is blue and wanted to know what is the best icing between the layers. I was going to use white ganache which I am nervous about and then rolled fondant. I am going to use the regular ready made drip chocolate. Would that work for the drop or is there a different one for the drop on the fondant.
