I'm not sure about NOW, but it USED to be mandatory to have Foods at least as one elective throughout highschool. Maybe it's gone or not done like that in the US. You'd be surprised at how many younger people don't know how to cook. I think her only cooking source is watching GOrdon Ramsey on TikTok. lol. The Cafeteria and fast food was probably her only source of food in university after she left mom behind.
