Nothing like a good NL grocery store banter derailing into some serious societal issues conversation 👌
when he was like "are you doing ok?" shit hit me like a truck
@@TheLibraryofLetourneau we're all gonna make it brah 😤✊
Bold of you to assume that 37-year-old man posting in r/showerbeer has a wife and kids
Bold of you to assume they dont
watched the whole video only for the dad bit at the end to RKO me out of nowhere
Whoever stunned eggman for 19 min needs a prize
Another fun thing about Utah is that they can’t mark up alcohol more than 70%, so you can get an expensive aged whiskey for $400 where it would be $4200 in other states
Thank you for the hot tip
Sounds like another alcohol myth
@@Ethan-de2li they actually have to raffle off the chance to buy the truly expensive bottles. Its a byproduct of letting a church run your state
@@AngelJimenez-cs4yqI guess they made it that way because otherwise there would be no reason to live in Utah.
I think I am watching this highlight channel more than NL’s actual channel and I’m here for it
This was quality banter
This video has made me realise why I watch NL so much, he is just an older brother figure for me. Hes done all the crazy college shit I'm currently doing and now hes enjoying the next part of his life
I wanna see NL do jump on GDQ and do a full speedrun just talking like this
for clarification, the reason snake bites aren't served at most pubs in the uk is because they're too tired of people staining the floor with purple vomit
ironically you can commonly get blackcurrant cider at most pubs nowadays and that's even worse for that
Went into the video for typical banter pogs, left it seriously reevaluating my typical alcohol intake 😅
him talking about the beer store brings back memories dude
US sliding into a theocracy...feels bad man
US sliding into Christian theocracy when you're not a Christian... feelsworseman
Not just feels, is.
Actually it’s very based. That being said there’s no reason why you wouldn’t be able to buy alcohol on a Sunday
@@phylocybe_separation of church n state
@@Midwestemoisme what about it
Hahaha this went "strange brew" hard when my man was talking about returning empty bottles.
in Wisconsin shower beer is a lifelong tradition after a hard day's work
A year late but as someone that works in pubs in the uk the reason snakebite isn’t allowed in most places is because the moment that you mix lager and cider together you don’t know what percent alcohol it is. So you can’t tell a customer what it is they’re drinking, it’s about business responsibility. Snakebite gets you drunk faster than lager or cider so there is something strange about it, that coupled with the ambiguity of its percentage means it’s easier to just not serve it and cover the pubs back.
Its actually because pubs can't serve 1/4 pints, a full pint of snakebite is fine, but a half pint is a no go
But this isn’t true. You can sell it
THIRTSY WEDNESDAY killed me :D
Meanwhile in Missouri you can buy a fifth at the drive through gas station
Ok but as an Ontarian, the liquor store should at least sell mixes.
If I want coke or ginger ale with my whisky, I gotta go down the street :/
Not to mention Beer Store / LCBO split is insane.
I only ever got blackout drunk once at university, and the next month when I went home for a week I found out my uncle had jaundice from overdrinking. Seeing someone turn yellow and die like a week later really puts a damper on the drinking spirit.
Snakebites are actually illegal! However, it is only if you ask for a half-pint, because the lowest increment of beer/cider you are allowed to sell is 1/3, and a half-pint snakebite is technically 2 1/4 pints. Source: I am an English Bartender
I live in everett washington and i only know that blaine washington is a place because nl does not stop referencing it
In Norway we have store called The Wine Monopoly ('Vinmonopolet' in norwegian), and it's a state own company that has a monopoly on wine sale.
It's the same in Finland and Sweden.
MY DAD
im dead
Here in the netherlands, i've heard of this "Snakebite" as well, even though for the longest time it was difficult to get your hands on cider at all. And while we don't have Goldschlager, we have similar products like Gold Strike (and Silver Strike) which are also purported to cut the throat to get you drunker.
Just like playground stories at schools around the world can be the same, so apparently are drinking myths!

damn do I take this as a wakeup call
had no idea that canada has a price fix that wont allow competition. That happen in the U.S.? seems like americans would freak about it.
Washington Mentioned!!!!🎉🎉🎉
god i miss isaac
I like to get drunk and play older games. Medieval 2 total war, Dues Ex and stuff like that.
only 25 years ago you couldn't buy any alcohol in my town at all
-2 on shower beer discourse. If you’re doing it all the time yeah. If you’re getting ready to go see the boys, or just chilling after a hard week, why not have a long shower and a beer, it’s great
The shower beer take is so wild, I wonder if he thinks its something different than just having a single cold drink while in a warm shower.
I also don't get it. But then, I also don't get the 'Grab a beer after work' every single weekday mentality.
I never had any crazy nights of getting hammered really back in high school or college. Didn’t start drinking till the legal age, not because I cared about being the legal age but because I was just never really in a situation where I could get my hands on it consistently till I could buy it. So I’m assuming the rule of only drinking on special occasions after college doesn’t apply to me since I’ve only really been drinking for a couple years, and it’s definitely never on a “thirsty Wednesday” 😂
Shower beer take was crazy. Posting on the subreddit sure, but no one should take shame in a ice cold beer in a hot shower after a long work day
why is nl gatekeeping showerbeer
Drinking is one thing, bragging about drinking is kid stuff
Likr germany
I'm there for the anti-alcohol stuff, but it's so much worse for you when you do it when you're college-aged than when you're in your mid 30s.
The whole alcohol situation in america sounds so dystopian
The thought of private liquor stores instead of purely government-controlled alcohol is too much for my sheepish European brain.
Nothing dystopian about the freedom to buy and sell alcohol at your own leisure (mostly). Any time the government sticks their grubby hands into anything I get apprehensive.
@@thames_music1219 What? The whole point is that America has state owned liquor stores which is madness/
@@suakeli What country are you from legitimately have never heard of state-owned alcohol stores until this video, and I've been to the UK, Ireland, France, Portugal, Cyprus, Croatia, Spain, Italy and Germany.
@@acksawblack That's really only on a state-by-state basis. The only state I've been in that had state-run liquor stores was Ohio. It's not a very wide-spread thing
Why does NL just hate fun?
It's strange to hear a Canadian talk about the UK snakebite and not the Yukon Jack snakebite which is just Yukon and lime juice.
As a teacher, the amount of grown adult 40 and 50 year old teachers who get hammered at least once a month is scary.
once a month is completely acceptable
Is once a month in your 40s not okay? I'm significantly younger than that and that's about where I'm at with my alcohol intake, what are you supposed to do pick up crocheting or something?
Or how they all just dump Bailey's into their coffee every morning.
Why? Assuming they doctor on their day off and drink responsibly, I don’t think there is an issue
In japan, isn't it a thing where you are essentially forced to drink with your boss and such, even if you are a teacher
