  • A step by step how-to on creating a dorodango with a graphite mirror finish. Compressing a very thin layer of graphite makes it get very reflective. And upon testing, found it had higher conductivity than uncompressed graphite powder, maybe kind of like graphene.
Shout out to my friend, Mike Room, for inspiring this idea.

    ------- Materials: ------
You can get clay at your local ceramic supply, or you can process it yourself from dirt. Here's also a link to some facial clay that should do the job -
    amzn.to/2Qc2rTw
You can get sand from your local sand and gravel yard, hardware store, wash, or nearest sandbox.
Marble powder or marble dust really helps the process, you can sometimes find it at your local hardware store, but here's a link -
    amzn.to/2ZVmhqF
Pure graphite powder is readily available at the local hardware store, you want to make sure it's extra fine and pure graphite.
here's the link to the one I've been using -

gam mal Hi, I'm the other person who helps make these videos. The ball actually doesn't stain anything. The graphite is highly compressed from the glass jar, so it doesn't rub off at all. And yep, it is slightly cool to the touch!

I got some sifted sandy soil from the backyard. Got some plain clay cat litter for cheap in a large bag.
Some containers, jars, bowls, spray bottle and a spice grinder too.
I used the grinder for the clay and then a mesh strainer for the dirt.
Found a good ration with water for make the core mix.
Then I’ve taken powdered clay and other stuff I’ve tried for the shell.
This is really fun and relaxing. I like making anything really and glad I found this. Thank you.

legend has it, ever since that point he and that ball went everywhere together, In the fading glow of yesteryear, where memories dance in the twilight of forgotten dreams, we find ourselves lingering upon the fate of two unlikely companions whose destinies intertwined in the tapestry of life.
As the years unfurled their relentless march, the once inseparable duo, the man and his cherished dorodango ball, drifted apart like whispers in the wind.
The man with stars in his eyes and fire in his soul, found himself ensnared by the siren song of life's temptations. He chased shadows of ambition, lost amidst the labyrinth of success and failure. Yet, in his quest for greatness, he stumbled upon the jagged rocks of addiction, shackled by the chains of his own desires. He became a ghost of his former self, haunting the alleyways of despair, his laughter drowned by the echoes of remorse.
And what of the dorodango ball, that humble creation born of earth and patience? Alas, it bore witness to the passing of time with stoic silence, a silent sentinel in a world of chaos. Cast aside, forgotten, it weathered the storms of neglect with quiet dignity, its luster dulled but its spirit unbroken.
In the annals of existence, their tale is but a fleeting moment, a whisper amidst the cacophony of life's symphony. Yet, in that brief encounter, they shared a bond that transcended the boundaries of time and space, a bond that lingered in the hearts of those who dared to remember.
And so, as the curtain falls on this chapter of their journey, we are left to ponder the mysteries of fate and the echoes of what could have been. For in the grand tapestry of life, even the smallest thread can weave the most intricate of patterns, leaving behind a legacy that endures long after the final act has drawn to a close.
    oh nice dirt ball btw...

I feel bad, I didn't want to commit the time and resources to make a fancy one with clay, so I actually got bored one night and pulled out some Easysand 20 joint compound and made a ball with a jar like you did in your earlier video. Not nearly as cool, but I was amazed that the proof of concept actually worked.
