In addition to being such a visually striking craft, I get the impression that your work is very meditative; that is, it allows for long moments of thought with just you and the task at hand and little else.
gam mal Hi, I'm the other person who helps make these videos. The ball actually doesn't stain anything. The graphite is highly compressed from the glass jar, so it doesn't rub off at all. And yep, it is slightly cool to the touch!
63 years old and it has taken me this long to find out about my own culture. I'm half Japanese - mother's side - born in Tokyo. Ever since I was little I loved playing in the mud and making mud balls. Drove my mother crazy - drives my husband crazy too. Now I know why!!
You’ve motivated me to get completely into this. It’s awesome!! I got some sifted sandy soil from the backyard. Got some plain clay cat litter for cheap in a large bag. Some containers, jars, bowls, spray bottle and a spice grinder too. I used the grinder for the clay and then a mesh strainer for the dirt. Found a good ration with water for make the core mix. Then I’ve taken powdered clay and other stuff I’ve tried for the shell. This is really fun and relaxing. I like making anything really and glad I found this. Thank you.
If anyone ever tries to tell me "you can't make dirt look nice", I'm going to pull up your videos and make them watch them. Dude, you have crazy skills. Love these videos.
So that one guy was on to something, and as I read that comment, I was imagining how a graphite would look like, then found this video. Amazing! Thanks for sharing
Hey this is a really wonderful video, but consider wearing a mask while mixing that much dry clay and graphite! Don't want to catch a lung of any of that stuff, and its easy to avoid.
@@JackSilver1410 Ah yes because why warn someone about Pneumoconiosis, Silicosis (and other risks) when you can just watch them continue to put themselves in danger all for the sake of 'manliness'.

Great video.
I absolutely love watching you create these. It’s amazing and inspiring. I also watched the episode that demonstrates the process of creating a gorgeous earth/clay floor. You guys are appreciated for sharing your talents and knowledge. How lucky to find such elevating vibes while checking out a few how to videos for weekend project. I now have to figure out how I can incorporate a earthen floor somewhere at my house and when I can spend the day dedicated to learning to create the spheres.
