Yes! This is the reveiw I was waiting for, honestly the REV5 is great, as an open format DJ coming from the RZ and playing all over London the FLX10 and the REV5 are very much appreciated because they are lighter and easier to carry on the tube or wherever I go

I bought a rev 7 but returned it for the rev 5 to save $1000 and get CDJ jogs. The Rev 7 feels more premium. But $1000 can buy speakers or even a used laptop. I will get the rev 5 in the mail this week. Stay tuned. 😊

Great video. While it looks like implementation with RB and Serato seems almost identical, since I have an Xp2 also it might be better for me to try Rekordbox with the Rev5 instead

Do you see the REV 7 having a reboot with 3, 4 channel controls like the REV 5 and 1? Rev 7 with all the features from Rev 5 (for Stems). Or would that be too much to ask for in an already revolutionary DJ controller?
I know battle style DJing all you need is 2 channels, but for an aspiring open-format DJ with aspirations for both scratching and club mixing, I just wish sometime like the REV 5, with motorised platters essentially lol, or a REV 7 (with that hardware FX built in) with 3, 4 channel mixing.
what do the paddle effects do in Rekordbox ?
Is there any option to disable Crossfader on rekordbox??

I ordered my DDJ-REV5 last Tuesday and can’t wait for it to arrive, once released! I’ve only played around with Rekordbox on the mobile app. I’m a Serato guy but really like trying out different programs. I’m excited to have a proper Rekordbox device.

When I enable effects they are not sounding post fader, they stop , does any one know how to fix this? It’s driving me insane 😢

Since Serato has better stems than Rekordbox at the moment and I already own a DDJ-1000, this Rev5 looks like a nice compromise instead of the FLX10. Can work both softwares and gives me a battle style configuration. I may just pull the trigger on one!
The layout is not bad my Questions are “ latency and sound quality when connected to PA systems?
I just used this at a wedding this past weekend. I had it directly connected to the speakers. And it sounded great. No need to plug into an external mixer before running into the speakers.
Yes! Pioneer needs to come out with a Rane Four flagship answer REV9? (4 up faders, battle layout, flx10 jog screens, hardware FX, mechanical jogs) 🙏🏼

@@djkit 4 channel to work with stems, acapellas/ instrumentals will be a lot easier than switching back & forth having to reset the fader.. 4channels with 2 faders sounds like a nightmare/easy way to mess up

Great video and I love rekordbox my only downside to them is I'm a hip hop & Rnb dj mostly and have a big problem with analyzing my music mostly wrong bpms especially acapellas any advice for fixing this other than manually changing 100,000 songs one by one on my ssd
Hey! Have you tried analysing the songs in 'dynamic' mode rather than 'normal' mode? It may help!

When you analysing select the ""range"" from the pop up in Rekordbox, so you can limit the tempo it has to choose from helps a lot

I would suggest you have a play on both and decide for yourself. Do you need 4 actual channels on the mixer?
Does anybody know how to turn off the mute on pad 1 ?
Why do they put the Pitch Faders on top? We turn our turntables into battle position to have them closer together, and not be restricted in any way by the Tonearms. The pitch faders being on top is just an unfortunate default consequence of having them in battle position. Nobody really WANTS to reach over the whole Turntable or Controller in this case to adjust the pitch which for me is one of the most important features on anything you play on. I never understood why they thought it was necessary to put them up there on these units. It’s not a deal breaker but it’s definitely an inconvenience that doesn’t make sense being there.

Hey bro! My preferred genres these days are funk / soul / hip hop. However, I was a resident at MOS & The Egg in London back in the day when I was playing a lot of house music, and I was actually a drum & bass DJ for a while when I was younger! So as you can imagine, I am predominantly open format, and love to play across the board!
@@djkit thanks for the reply. I asked because I suspected you played a load of House music (kinda in the beginning) & that's where you acquired you preference for RB even though you rock the other, more vocal based genres as well.
That's a really fair assumption to make. I actually used to use Traktor back in the day, but I swapped to rekordbox when I got the DDJ-1000, and I stuck with it from there on. I think rekordbox is a great all round software to be honest!
@@djkit That's crazy! I'm a Serato user but when the DDJ 1000 came out, I had to have it, so I was compelled to learn Rekordbox! I now use both (Serato for my Hip Hop/R&B/Open Format needs & RB for House music). That 1000 had the power to make one switch platforms! LOL

Hopefully when Algoriddim get their act together and natively map it.

I have no issue running stems from a steam deck on a Rane four. All this info that it takes a supercomputer is exaggerated
Thanks for your comment. I don't suppose you could explain why my i9 16GB 1TB Macbook Pro was struggling with stems then? Perhaps I should get myself a steam deck?

Getting so sick of waiting for motorized deck standalone unit. They have milked us enough. Out out the final piece of the puzzle instead of another rendition with 2 new features every other year.
