Please keep in mind, this is a first impressions video. These are the struggles I met on day one. Whether it was the wing or my technique, time will tell. I will be testing this wing over the next few weeks in order to make a full review video, however, my first impressions say that it is not an easy one to launch in no wind! As much as I love making positive impression/review videos, honesty and transparency are super important to me. Stay tuned!
I'd say with how much gear you've used, if you're not able to get it to work the first 10+times, it's probably flawed somehow, or dangerous for use in the first place.
You're an expert. If you can't get lift after five tries what about a rookie? Once you got up in the air I was nervous for you the whole time. I'd give that wing a thumbs down!
Jim, rookies shouldn't try fly a wing that according to manufacturer requires at least 300hrs of flying experience on SIMILAR wings. Only the top tier of PPG pilots should fly advanced gliders and when they do they should damn sure know the launch techniques required to safely do so. Its like asking a Cessna pilot to try fly a F35 for the day??WTF. Tucker needs to mention this!
I’ve have no problem with my 22 even if the trimmers are closed, weird that you have so much problem launching.... I hope you figure out the problem with the launch. It’s a great wing to fly and I absolutely love the handling on my warp.
FACT: The Warp is ONE of the most challenging paramotor wings to launch that is produced by one of the TOP glider manufacturers. FACT: The Warp is an AMAZING wing! We can all see that from MitchG (and others). Also, the Warp has performed extremely well in competition. PERSONAL EXPERIENCE: I thought that the Warp was challenging to launch. I had Clint and Mitchell assisting me as I made a few repeated attempts to launch the 16 Meter version of the Warp. Like Tucker, I do not fail launches often at all. I have flown many Dudek wings to include the Universal, Hadron XX, Snake XX, and now the Warp. I’ve never failed a launch with the Universal, or the Hadron XX. It took me 2 attempts to get the Snake XX launched. OPINION: The Warp is challenging to launch. Once in the air, it is beautifully responsive! The majority of paramotorists today would not enjoy owning the Warp if it were the only wing they own. It takes a lot skill. Tucker has an incredible amount of skill and his opinion on launch characteristics are fair. In the end, this wing is more challenging to launch that the majority of wing. It’s as simple as that.
Tim Brown How about: In my opinion, the Warp is an AMAZING wing based on the FACT that it’s performed the best in recent competition. Does this meet Tims approval? 😉
I've never had a single problem launching my warp. Kiting practice will teach you a lot about a wing and make you a better pilot. It's just technique and adapting.
@@johnhancockFenix Dudek makes some great wings, that one is just hard to launch. It also hasn't caught on like legendary hadron which also has some challenging launch characteristics.
@@johnhancockFenix Apco makes a wonderful wing too. We have so many great manufacturers of wings, so lucky for a fairly fringe activity to have such awesome selection and quality.
I can never tell if this guy actually knows what he's talking about, or if he's just the popular guy that doesn't really know all that much, but he has enough charisma to make people believe he does (and then clickbaits to make money). It was kind of the same with the life flight helicopter: admits they should have landed, rationalizes away having radios as being too complex and using facebook instead (lol), rationalizes being up in the air at dark by saying they officially had 5 minutes (or something), and then calls it a life lesson as if none of the existing piloting rules and best practices were not in place because of accidents to begin with. "I don't know how to launch this wing very well" becomes "The ABSOLUTE WORST wing I have ever launched!" I would caution anyone listening to this "expert" that he is still immature enough to believe that only his experience is valid and all other input is a test against his experience. In other words, he still has a problem understanding causation vs correlation. Pretty irresponsible considering his marketing clout.
@@TheDirtCreature also, everyone has their techniques and styles of flying, since he is so used to flying his other wings, this posed a challenge to him. Therefor in his opinion, he is allowed to say if he likes it or not. Try to not overthink everything in your life lol.
@@TheDirtCreature Tucker made it quite clear that this was his own, first impression/opinion. And that his own technique may have hindered him. He also made it clear that he is going to continue testing so as to render a more informed opinion. As a private pilot with no paramotor experience myself, I find his videos informative and entertaining. He seems to be well regarded in the paramotor community and beyond. He obviously loves what he does and is lucky enough to have the skills and charisma to turn hobby into business. A difficult challenge. UA-cam is littered with others who have failed in their attempt at the same. I've seen your postings elsewhere, it seems you never have a positive thing to say say about anybody. Maybe I've missed those posts? But my first and longtime impression of you is that of a miserable troll who tries to build himself up by attempting to tear down his betters. But that is just my own impression.
Look closely at that clip of Anthony Vella. He checks the wing when it comes up but never gets out of the brakes. It's no wonder he killed it. Hands up, let it fly!
@@mbrunnme Right on. And I'm not poking fun at Anthony about it. It's just disingenuous to include that as evidence of "world's worst launching wing" when it was clearly poor technique.
I'm flying dudek wings. My technique to launch them is: 1st make sure all lines are good 2nd make sure you're clipped in correct into harness (I know it sounds idiotic, when I say it to much more experienced pilot but just follow me here) All of these gives you this 99% peace of mind that paraglider comes up correctly. 3rd I start my launch adding some throttle and once i do it, and start running I NEVER let it go (ofc when i feel on risers that wing twist, I stop). This is this narly moment when you exame your wing while running faster and faster (if it feels right don't slow down, becouse if you do shit happends). When your wing is over a head you increse throttle and start running faster. Pulling your brakes for take off happends with great ground speed. Not right after the wing is up. I see this technique all around my Dudek flying friends. We launch 99% succeesfully (100% successfully in calm conditions) With wings starting from Nucleon, through Snakes, Hadrons, and Warp ofc. And we all were learning seperately. I allways think about my launches as I'm doing it with airplane, speed is the key, little snap on break lines at the end makes you airborn, not a pull (usually). I was flying Ozone before, Speedster, It was my first wing. I was giving much more break pressure on launch. Dudek is just different. More complicated in launch i would say.

Corey Reynolds I have to preface my comments by letting u know I’ve never trained with Ryan Shaw myself. Just know 6 people who have and are friends with them all and have asked them about training with him. I was surprised because they all said he doesn’t train well. His only objective is to get your cash, try to get you in the air, and then sell you gear. Period. Then sits back and waits for you to damage your gear and come back to buy replacement pieces. After hearing all that, I decided to go somewhere else. I heard there’s another guy named Nik Rasheta in AZ that does a great job and seems to have passion for his students and their safety. Shaw has built a rep of arrogance and little care anything other than your $$.
Don’t think I’ve ever seen you blow launch after launch in all the time I’ve followed you. Pretty eye opening. I’ll stick with my Colorado 25. Thanks for the honest impressions!!
I've got the itch for sure. I am saving money and searching for training. I have some aviation/flight knowledge in the bank already so hoping it goes smoothly.
No way I trained with Ryan Shaw here in AZ. I trained on a Universal 1.1 but after trying a Ozone after training it was the clear winner. I have a Roadster 3 now and couldn't be happier.
@Hernan Wilkins well he got me in the air and he knew what he was doing but 2500 bucks for a total of maybe 4 days and one of those we didn't even go out in the evening. Even though he let us use his stuff I definitely didn't get 2500 worth of instruction. There was sooooo much he didn't even talk about and it all felt rushed and unsafe. I broke my ankle when i was training. About 2 months later I drive 2 hours for some more training and even thiufh he knew I had just broke my ankle he puts a heavy nirvana motor on my back that won't even start and I'm running around because he's trying to start it when I'm kiting and stuff and I was so exhausted I didn't even get in the air. I was pretty mad after that and didn't even consider buying anything from him. Nirvana is crazy heavy and overpriced and like I said I wasn't too impressed with the dudek wings. All the other people I fly with that trained with him feels the same way I do. There were two other guys in my class. One never got off the ground and the other literally almost killed himself by being rushed into the air and crashing into a shed. I thought we were literally going to run up on a dead guy. Lucky for me I managed to get about 10 flights out of him but definitely not 2500 worth that is for sure.
Hernan Wilkins I’ve spoken to several people who have trained with Ryan Shaw. Every one of them said the same thing independently: very rushed training that isn’t thorough. He gets u in the air and that’s it. No discussion about the basics of flying or anything beyond launching. Every one of them were not happy with the training-especially after training was over and learning all the basics through their own experiences that he never even mentioned. One of my buddies who trained with him injured himself pretty bad after training and when he posted about his experience, Shaw was pissed that he had even posted anything negative about his experience with one of his Nirvana paramotors. Didn’t care about his injury or that there could be something other flyers could learn from. Just was pissed that it hurt sales-which is another thing that others all said after training with him...he seems to value sales over safety. With all the ways information gets out today, when “instructors” start dicking people over, sooner or later your business is gonna take a dive. Not sure why he would be that way or why people would still train with him unless they just aren’t informed. Sad.
@@MrBigjoecincy You fellas are making a real strong argument for self training here, some of which I saw on the front end while shopping for training 3 years ago... Just curious (for my own edification) if when you left training, did you had an USPPA endorsements either PP2 or PP3? If so, it sounds like the curriculum may not have been followed. If I were paying the organization dues, I would upstream this comment all the way to the presidency until there was some discussion at least maybe even pushing until there was resolution. Knowing Jeff's back ground, there is no way he could just sit on the type of information your providing here. If the organization is to maintain any credibility, there needs to be standards and accountability. I am actually giving some deep consideration to joining the organization, even advocating for it, but only if it works like I would expect it to. That is top down transparency and standards that are not only published but enforced, if need be through internal discipline up to and including revocation of "instructor ratings". Just thinking out loud here...
Can‘t agree. Flying a 14m warp and had never ever a false start. In nil wind and also in bumpy condition. Efficiency is crazy, 300 rpm less than snake 15xx. Speed is 7kmh more, only with p.a.. Also tried several wings as well as the freeride...
It's weird... my hadron xx 20m needs 5300ish rpm to keep lvl flight. My 18m warp need 4700 rpm to keep level flight. It flys fast but lands slower ... I just cant wrap my head around it.
So....definitely NOT a wing for a beginner or even an intermediate pilot. If I'm going out to have fun, I want to have fun and not fight with gear constantly. I would have to say that this wing would be a total pass for someone like me. Thanks for the review, and Cheers from Winnipeg!
Dam Tuck your coming up on a million Subs , That’s awesome, I remember when I subscribed to your channel back before you had 1 thousand subs 😀🤟🏼 Time Flys
@@johnhancockFenix He's only a troll, desperate for the validation he can only find from his ability to annoy people. Getting pissed at him would be like getting angry with someone because they were disabled. :(
I'm no expert by any means, but it does sound as if you should experiment across a wider range of trim settings, on the principle there may be a surprise in there somewhere. It may well be that wing simply has a very narrow range of a's brakes and power timing than most and there's no getting around that but perfectly dialing in unique technique just for that one wing. Kudos for not letting your launch experience taint your impression of its flight characteristics. I absolutely love same-reviewer looks at different gear, because if pilot A reviews gear B and pilot C reviews gear D, I can't tell how much difference in the reviews is the pilot and how much is the gear. Please keep doing these; they're great! PS any chance you could get your hands on a apco hybrid? Ad copy makes those sound like the opposite of the warp: ideal for older/slower pilots who don't run so fast anymore. :) Keep up the great work!
I have a Warp, and neither myself or Corey Reynolds has blown a single launch on it.... Weird. It's almost like your sponsors want you to make a bad review about their main competition. I used to respect your opinion, but this is crazy man. Our experience with the warp has been really normal and easy launches. We've flown the 16, 17, and 18 meter sizes as well. I opted to order a custom 17 and I love it.
It was unprofessional for Tucker to say “this wing sucks.” Maybe the seller should have told Tucker about using the middle A’s, or maybe the seller thought Tucker would figure it out (wrong)! Did u try kiting the wing first Tucker?
Ha, I knew somebody would pull the "sponsor" card. 😂 If you think I would go out there and purposefully blow 5 launches in a row to make the wing look bad, you're absolutely wrong. That is not me. The frustration I felt was 100% genuine. Your experience was different than mine and I can appreciate that. Maybe there is something wrong with this demo, maybe my technique completely sucks. But I'm not going to lose respect for your opinion just because your experience was different than mine. Edit - opinion, not option
@@TuckerGott Maybe fly other wings or check your techniques before posting a super click-baity devastatingly titled "worst launching wing in the world video" then????? I pay my bills selling Dudek because I believe they are top quality. It sucks to have my favorite brand slandered because your launches didn't go well. It's not fair. Your video doesn't show what I've personally experienced from the Warp. In the last 5 to 6 years i've spent all my time and energy into growing my Flight School teaching hundreds of new pilots, and you've made amazing progress on your youtube channel. Interesting to see how your opinion can influence a million people while my opinion is nearly a whisper. Don't take it the wrong way, I'm actually super proud of you and what you are doing for our sport.
@@helicopter2992 It would be news to me that others were having the same experience. Everything I've seen from the Warp launches have been pretty standard, and what we expected to see from it. The Warp is definitely on the next level of spicy-ness, I did expect some people without the proper experience level to not love it, but Tucker isn't that pilot.
Tucker- I received my shirt order today, and pleasanly surprised got a Risky Business sticker too! But I want to make a suggestion. I like to put it on my truck window but to be seeen has to go on outside- so why not see if you can get stickers printed on sticky side- so they can be put up inside, showing the image thru the glass and seen from the outside.
Thanks for the review Tucker. Nice little nugget of knowledge for when/if I ever need to get a better wing. (50 flight newby here) Last night, I had the same experience, although, mine was due to winds. Tight LZ next to a busy taxi way. Between launch attempts in a cross wind, I must have waited an hour and a half for traffic. 😕 Got tired, packed up, and left after a number of attempts. But again, awesome vid... 👍👍👍
Dude I have to say that Dudek has a different launch technique and you do not exhibit any of the key points, even basic riser handling. Clearly in you video you pull up, dont check the position, dont hold the risers forward to let the glider fly before you go with brake and you try takeoff with glider in 11:00 position. Getti g it from 11 to 12 can be done in even downwind launch if you know what to do with Dudek Warp Risers. In the recent Icarus I flew the Warp, being use to the Hadron, I overtook all the competitors from 5km behind with speed and handling BUT it was the 20m2. If you want to fly a glider that can stay on tracks in worst conditions trims open, you need to learn its techniques and not rate it based on techniques you developed on different brands. Dont take my word for it. Advanced pilots from europe are choosing the Warp in droves and winning the comps (go check world champ ratings). I think you should spend some time with Ryan, Mitch, Corey or Brayn from the USA Dudek stable before you do reviews on the Dudek product, no offence, its like getting a rating on new aircraft type, nothing personal. I have a client flying Hadron XX that went for demo on Viper 4 and Freeride and his comment afterwards was and I quote "if my grandma had a wing...". I'm not knocking Ozone but it should indicate to you how very different the techniques are on the opposing brands.
Totally agree with the launch comment. If your launch is calm and controlled, the flight is off to the best start, your head is in a good place. Any flight that starts off badly will not be enjoyable, you may as well not bother.
I trained with Ryan at Paradenalin, and so that everyone knows, he is a great teacher. We train on the Dudek Universal which is a very stable wing, especially for beginners. If you are in the Phoenix area and want good instruction, go check out paradenalin.
Dudek are a harder wing to launch than ozone. You need to slowly bring the wing up and not power launch like your doing. Start slow when it's up but still behind, pull the a lines a little harder then when it's up DO NOT hit the brakes like you do on your ozone (and in this video) just apply power until your up to take off speed then apply a tint amount of brakes. It's easy when you know how, but your technique is adapted to launching ozone. If I tried to launch an ozone wing I'm sure I will fail as my technique would not be right for that style
Interesting review. Appreciate it, thought the days of hard to start gliders where over. But apparently not so. Will make me more cautious about my next buy.
When I watch videos like this, there are two different things that come into my mind. One is curiosity and the thought of "that looks like it couldbe a lot of fun", the other is "I would be too sh*t scared to try this on account of I'm a big scaredy cat affraid of hights" Today, my scared of hights side felt somewhat rewarded as the idea of trying to fly a difficult wing is plenty enough to put me off the idea.
V the wing way more, grab the inside A's only and start with tight A-lines and you'll be good as gold. All Dudek wings hate how your launching, there not hard just need a slighting different pull-up. Just my 2C! Keep on rock'n.
The warp is a wing for only top-level experienced pilots, slalom athlets e kind of. I know pilots that fly it, land and launch it no problem, but they are not the average joe
Good initial impression review. Covered the wing well and your launch as possibly a factor. A wing, as an aircraft, is a personal choice. It'll be interesting to see how this wing shakes out. Fly safe.
That's how I feel ... except I'm trying to get a 30m2 overhead, lol. I'm as green as my wing! 😁 I loved the thumbnail on this one! Made me laugh! 🤣 I wouldn't want any part of that one. Way too much work to get airborne!
In the intro to one of my videos flying at Palm Bay, I am chasing a buddy (flying his Warp) while he is chasing a street car drifting through a made up race course. In a steep bank, his wing makes a pronounced pitch change with zero input from him. The air was really smooth as glass but the snap load and instant pitch change made me think...
I'm glad you are honest in your reviews. I'm with you, launch characteristics are a large part of how good a wing is. I will certainly stay away from wings that are launch dogs.
Honest but produced in poor taste. Tucker has always been appreciated for his humble attitude. He clearly blamed the wing 98% that is not humility. His platform is too powerful to "one off" like that especially with a brand of such good name. Too many beginners will look away from Dudek because of this one video (You can see it in the comments). People skilled enough to fly this wing will probably snicker at his launches and it wont matter. Tucker is clearly accomplished but he is more like a really good high school basketball player or maybe freshman college (beginner advanced). Guys in Europe flying this wing are NBA top level advanced. Very few NBA players in the US (right now). I just dont think he realized how "not like Tucker" the video seemed. The launch was so poorly executed it actually looked faked (which I do not believe this to be true). Tuck will get it though he is good. If you're going to dish it out with a (VERY) negative first impressions you better be ready to take it (and he most likely is).
Don't get yourself killed man. If you're unlucky enough that due to circumstances (e.g. wind gust) the wing generates enough lift to get you off the ground while it is still basically parachuting...
Glad you made it down safe. I hope you at least had your reserve though. I don't fly but if that was me, I would feel sketchy as ever to even get it in the air. A wing that is that horrible to get up and stabilize I would worry about it collapsing for the worse once you do get in the air.
Well there you go.. Dudek probably only made a few and will probably simply cancel production of that wing. You would think they would use their own test pilots though rather than sending them out for experimental flights by you and others.
@@colindupee Agreed, each wing behaves differently as Tucker will know well given he has flown various different brands in his time. I can't help but think that if Tucker had have kited the Warp before hand it would given him a good indication of how much brake pressure it'll take before it'll stall. Hard to analyse someone else's experience though.
Tucker great video. Im glad you give the viewers your negative feedback when you see a glider with issues. I’ve been flying and teaching ppg and some pg for 26 years. It would be nice to see you to do a video on evaluating a new glider on the ground while kiting. I kited then flew a new glider the other day made by Sky called a Flux. While kiting I noticed some bad characteristics that had me concerned. It made me feel at risk if I were to fly it.i did fly it and was not comfortable with it. I think the viewers can learn a lot about kiting a glider and what to observe before taking flight. Keep up the great content.
My logic tells me that dumping trims enough will make it come up easier. It looks like trims in is just too trimmed in. There are some manufacturers out there that recommend their specific wing should be launched trimmers out.
As I mentioned in the video, the trims were set to 2-3 cm out which is what the manual suggests for launching. When I finally got it in the air, I had it trimmed out to 5 cm for the launch.
My buddy Chris flies this wing. Has caused him sooooo much grief learning how to launch it. Any brakes at all and it kills it. He's got it down now. But doesn't seem worth the hassle to me! He's one hell of a pilot too and kinda idols you haha. Curious if this video makes him want to try a different wang!!
That was kind of my impression! I think you could eventually dial it in but why should you have to work so hard to launch a wing when there are other wings that don't require as much effort?
@@TuckerGott yea man i totally agree. That being said though i haven't flown "slalom wings" still seems like it should come up and stay up quite a bit easier. Caused him some serious serious ego issues there for a minute haha
So I want to fly. Idk which exact Paramotor is right for me, but I need to learn it and plan to tandem 1 day, Do some maneuvers, etc... Liking the Scout, but what about ParaJet or Simonini? Also, learner wing or next step up to learn on and keep? I know I'll need a different one for tandem, right? So, trainers may be biased, you've been on many PMs and wings, I'm 6'1" 160#, just want to make an educated, confident decision. Thanks, hope I win that Florida training too, I'm ready get airborne! 😁
Advanced wings are challenging to kite because they are designed to fly faster and turn faster than the competition. You covered these two advantages only briefly, and now most viewers think Dudek wings are a "piece of sh*t." Maybe on the next video you can clear this up. For example: the Dudek Universal is an easier wing to inflate. It can be flown with and without a motor for soaring, that's a pretty cool feature.
First , I will say Ive never flown before . So if this question is out of left field , please excuse me , ok ?Is it possible the characteristics of "that" 16m wing is better suited for kiting off of a mountain side ? What I mean is , within 3-4 steps the person has applied the force to the wing vs flat ground launch , waiting for the wing to lift the pilot ? Please answer as I am looking for information to get started as a pilot.
I keep seeing you hit the brakes on maybe a potential overfly...but then you do it again later in the launch...which brings the wing back down....maybe because you want to take off before you hit the corn? Maybe you're not giving yourself enough runway for this particular wing. I'd go full power forward, check the wing, and keep it going full speed...giving it gas then letting off apparently doesn't work for this wing....it's full head on takeoff or no takeoff...just like you do with the other wing(s) you fly...the wing looks beasty!
I see your Frig. I am wondering if it still is working for you with your solar cells furnishing power for it. Are you taking the rig on longer trips so you can utilize it.
If a wing fails to launch like that, wouldn't that indicate it has poor slow-speed characteristics? What happens when you have an engine out and can't keep your speed up trying to get over that last stand of trees? The wing stalls on you and you fall out of the sky, that's what. For that matter, what happens when you get a gust of wind from behind you and your effective air speed drops? I think I'd need an awful lot of assurances around the science of why it can be a decent wing to fly but still suck so bad to launch before I'd trust it. If the first impression is the only one you get, this wing is definitely a hard pass.
As the man said, it is a first impression video. That said, Im hoping his full review follows soon considering his media clout and the damage it could cause to this brand. Im sure the company that provided the wing for demo was quite aware of the presence Tucker has. And undoubtedly a discussion about a public review would have taken place (Paradrelenin was prominently displayed on the packaging box). I'll give him credit for being open about his thoughts on the wing, even the expectations that the brand had performed poorly for him in the past. Tucker certainly didn't pull any punches here. Reading the previous comments and reviewing some of Gotts previous wing demos, Ive come to my own conclusions FWIW. He isnt an inexperienced pilot, with many launches under his belt. The exposure this charismatic guy has given this sport is invaluable. He has tested other wings (Niviuk and Ozone. Maybe more) and hasn't been as condemning about their launch characteristics. Maybe those who love this wing have more experience with this brand, as he does with Ozone. And perhaps technique tweeks are needed. But five blown launches from a pilot of this level? Begs the question, why does this wing need special tuition or instruction to launch? AND, is this instruction available or given when the wing was presented for demonstration? I could also imagine how Tucker may have procrastinated prior to posting this first impression video, considering its impact. Obviously, after careful deliberation he thought it prudent to post. After all, I don't think he needs this type of exposure to be more popular!
I hope someone with experience answers this. Compared to cars, is this wing a "sports car" as opposed to the Freeride tucker "daily drives"? I have no experience, but in some ways I feel like tucker could have been stalling a "sports car" when trying to launch. Does that comparison hold any water in paramotering?
@@TuckerGott I can show you some tricks with Warp, for example easy take off 😉 BTW this wing take off so easy 😉 For sure this wing isn't for everybody as we can see 🤦♂️
So, I'm guessing the secret to launching that wing is to apply, and maintain constant thrust, during launch? Also, regarding wing sizes, does that number apply to tip-tip wingspan, or total wing area, tip-tip, plus leading edge, to trailing edge? Thanks for the video. :)
Maybe there was a hole in the Earth's atmosphere that day. The leak caused low air pressure and therefore there wasn't enough air to fill up the wing. I think there is a giant valve stem on top of the world, near the North Pole. Someone needs to find it, get a giant tire pressure gauge, check the psi and add air if needed. Or, the wing could just suck on launch.
I had a dream that you finally made your way back to Montana and you were surprising me at my house by hand delivering the contest winnings to me like you were Ed Mcman lol.
For the Anthony Launches at the end: That's hardly the wing's fault... How is it EVER gonna come up if you choke it to death half way to the zenith? - I feel like many PG pilots could learn a thing or two by groundhandling a "normal" non-powered wing for a bit. Those were just 2 horrendous launches... Maybe a more docile wing would have salvaged those, but that surely can't be point, can it?
Bro, that wing is a solid PASS!! The point of the sport is to have fun..... be safe..... and be able to repeat it over n over. The fact that a guy with your skill of flying a 16m has this much trouble then it’s not skill or technique, it’s just a shit wing!! Thanks for the review and comparison with AV and his tribulations also!
Heph333 yeah for sure. Wing might not be the best who knows I’ve never been on a dudek. But all those blown launches in zero wind conditions, has to be pilot error unless the wing is really out of trim. Run and commit to your launch it will fly
Newbie question here, in regards to a comment that you made towards the beginning of your video... Exactly what factors contribute to a lack in performance with a wing, such as your free ride, and becoming hard to get overhead do to age?
Please keep in mind, this is a first impressions video. These are the struggles I met on day one. Whether it was the wing or my technique, time will tell. I would love to try the Z-Blade! As much as I love to make positive reviews, if something sucks, it sucks. Honestly is super important to me.
Somebody send Woody a Warp.
@@TuckerGott I have an 18m. Lemme know if you wanna try it out. 🤙
WoodysGamertag I recognize that name!
I blew (only) 2 launches. lol
Anthony Vella what’d you think of the Hadron xx?
Patrick Bryant personally, I thought it was a great wing. I hope to own it one day.
Actual fact is that your statement, "FACT: The Warp is an AMAZING wing!" is really just your opinion! You may want to brush up on your definitions.
Tim Brown
How about: In my opinion, the Warp is an AMAZING wing based on the FACT that it’s performed the best in recent competition.
Does this meet Tims approval? 😉
I've never had a single problem launching my warp. Kiting practice will teach you a lot about a wing and make you a better pilot. It's just technique and adapting.
There are videos of Mitch G easily inflating the Warp in low to no winds - sometimes with no hands! How to explain this?
@@fairbanksairridersUm, that he's an Ozone dealer? 😂
I flew that same glider as well. It was hard to kite in 10mph as well. "Squirrelly" is the adjective I came up with. I took the pass option myself.
When I saw it crash down in 10 mph of wind in your video, I knew it was going to be a tough one. 😂
That was some dumpy air though Mr. O
@@johnhancockFenix Dudek makes some great wings, that one is just hard to launch. It also hasn't caught on like legendary hadron which also has some challenging launch characteristics.
David Carroll I will stick with my apco 👍🏻
@@johnhancockFenix Apco makes a wonderful wing too. We have so many great manufacturers of wings, so lucky for a fairly fringe activity to have such awesome selection and quality.
Thanks for not having any ego issues and simply posting exactly what happened.
I appreciate your comment. :) That is exactly my intent.
Tucker: "Okay, taking off thataway."
Paradrenalin wing: "Oooh, a squirrel!"
Dudek Paragliders: So Tucker, can you tell us what should we change in this wing to make it better?
Tucker Gott: Yes
"Hey Tucker try out our wing on your YT channel!"
"WTF... This thing sucks.."
@@TheDirtCreature we will wait for your video of launching the Warp 16 wing.
@@dalgrim lol the guy probably doesnt fly at all lol
I'm a longtime subscriber, and this was the very first time I was truly worried for you. That was tense man.
When he finally launched and started over the corn field, I was tense as well. Could just envision a lob down to the ground.
Look closely at that clip of Anthony Vella. He checks the wing when it comes up but never gets out of the brakes. It's no wonder he killed it. Hands up, let it fly!
pt00i it's mitch g's wing and he makes fun of him in the paramotor podcast for it. He never let it get the airspeed.
@@mbrunnme Right on. And I'm not poking fun at Anthony about it. It's just disingenuous to include that as evidence of "world's worst launching wing" when it was clearly poor technique.
pt00i fully agree
I'm flying dudek wings. My technique to launch them is:
1st make sure all lines are good
2nd make sure you're clipped in correct into harness
(I know it sounds idiotic, when I say it to much more experienced pilot but just follow me here)
All of these gives you this 99% peace of mind that paraglider comes up correctly.

Wing suppliers remorse - "I wish we hadn't sent that wing to Tucker, now we will never sell them !!!"
Research and development of the product is the main part...
If people die,,, that's a bad thing. ..
I fly in AZ where Ryan is based and he doesn't have the best reputation around here.
Joe Ashley yup.
What reputation does he have for the local guys?
Launch is 1% of the flight but it’s also required ;). No launchie... no flyieeee. Thanks for posting. Wing looks like a handful.
The great thing about this wing is that you can practice losing your canopy....on the ground. Second added benefit: cardio!
Don’t think I’ve ever seen you blow launch after launch in all the time I’ve followed you. Pretty eye opening. I’ll stick with my Colorado 25. Thanks for the honest impressions!!
Anybody else watch Tucker's videos because you want to fly really bad?
Yes and I'm getting into it. Already bought everything now going to get training in Houston Texas
Yup. Got myself a wing to kite with and found an instructor.
I've got the itch for sure. I am saving money and searching for training. I have some aviation/flight knowledge in the bank already so hoping it goes smoothly.
My paramotor money keeps turning into something my wife wants instead.
My friend has one and has flown with Tucker I just paid my motorcycle and now I want one of these
Dude, This Is an eye opener! Thanks for sharing.

Keep up the great work!

As I mentioned, it sounds like the problem is most pronounced in the 16. I bet a 22 would be fine.
Felt nervous just watching this.
Can't come to a complete stop when inflating in zero wind. Watch how your buddy with the blue wing how he does it.
Will be trying a variety of techniques in a future video!
Fly safe.
Thx for the review Tucker. I’ve heard good things about Macpara wings. Gonna go that way on my next purchase.

I loved the thumbnail on this one! Made me laugh! 🤣 I wouldn't want any part of that one. Way too much work to get airborne!
The warp is a legendary pita to launch. It's like conquering the worm :)
spice must flow
In the intro to one of my videos flying at Palm Bay, I am chasing a buddy (flying his Warp) while he is chasing a street car drifting through a made up race course. In a steep bank, his wing makes a pronounced pitch change with zero input from him. The air was really smooth as glass but the snap load and instant pitch change made me think...
That's a huge concern I had! Based on its behavior on the ground, I would expect it to have a violent stall in the air.
@@TuckerGott Here it is about 12 or 13 seconds in... ua-cam.com/video/WbrKl7d6u1I/v-deo.html
What a big mistake they made sending you that wing to review. LOL Great video as usual.
@Tucker, you need to stock up on merch... We cannot buy it if it's not in stock! LOL
reminds me of the first time I started flying. I had a free flight wing with no shark nose technology. In no wind it was an absolute pain to launch.
You have big balls to carry on and get in the air with that wing . !
Cameraman! Turn, that, fuc..ing, phone!!! 🤣🤣🙈
Have you tried running it up with no power at all? Maybe that first burst of power is having some knock on effects?
I was kinda wondering that too... I can't imagine taking off under a wing I'd never even kited.
I've been a fan of your stuff for a bit now. Keep up the honest reviews! Ignore the naysayers.
You should try the z-blade
way you said It felt filled in the sky how much trouble you have taken off it seems dangerous 🤕🙏
Looks like there is a sweet spot of balance between forward motion and lift that a pilot would have to hit to get an easier launch on this wing.
Can you do a video on soaring? Can you soar with a paramotor?
Just waiting on Mitch G's saucy comment
Me too
Wow! I would definitely send that one in for inspection!
Bruh at 6:45 I thought you had cheekless pants on and was trying to take off with your butt hanging out hhha
The best comment.
That is so fricken funny looks just like it hahaha!!!
It happens to every guy, it's okay tucker
Wow that was shocking. So I *can* blame the wing when stuff goes wrong! cool!
My Viper 24m used to get stuck. My Freeride 19m comes up real fast and even you have got to pull gently
I’ll stick with ozone. I am not a fan of all the cardio you need with that test wing
If you are launching in higher winds, the problem would become irrelevant. I have never met a wing that is only suited for high wind launches, though.
You should name that " The Heart Attack Wing " !!!
@@jjstrong3065 Thanks for the reply!

This wing is for professional pilots, not for vlogers and kids ✌️
Whoa!!
Ok Mr Ego, have fun with your Warp. 😘
Good thing it's not a competition! 😂
@@TuckerGott I can show you some tricks with Warp, for example easy take off 😉
BTW this wing take off so easy 😉
For sure this wing isn't for everybody as we can see 🤦♂️
@@MrLojak Hmm let's see you knock Mateos off the podium with it then 🤔
Tucker, would you be interested in demo'ing a BGD Luna2? I've got a 23m (medium) I'd be willing to send your way for a couple weeks.
I would love to demo one? 😁 PPG pilot in Denmark
@@gustavscheel-bech9359 thats fantastic! I would encourage you to contact your local BGD dealer for a demo.
So, I'm guessing the secret to launching that wing is to apply, and maintain constant thrust, during launch? Also, regarding wing sizes, does that number apply to tip-tip wingspan, or total wing area, tip-tip, plus leading edge, to trailing edge? Thanks for the video. :)
After that first launch I was like "Trim that shit all the way out. You got a kite behind you man."
Glad you bleep the language mate, my kids don't repeat the bleepers :)
@Tucker Gott: Try you next launch with a bit more open trimmers. That helped me with my Dudek wings.
Du auch hier?😁
Yup. Hilf mir mal weiter, wer du bist...
@@ingol.7949 Hab schon mal Videos von dir gesehen👍
Maybe there was a hole in the Earth's atmosphere that day. The leak caused low air pressure and therefore there wasn't enough air to fill up the wing. I think there is a giant valve stem on top of the world, near the North Pole. Someone needs to find it, get a giant tire pressure gauge, check the psi and add air if needed. Or, the wing could just suck on launch.
Tucker, you should try the ITV PIPER. I think you will like it.
I can’t think of a easier way to destroy a wings reputation then having Tucker Gott himself saying that it sucks. Lmao 🤷♂️
"You guys just give a pass to everything you review". lol... Nope.
I was getting pretty worried about you with this one especially when you got it up in the air.
I'm glad that everything went alright, stay safe👍
No wind launches suck.
Curious to see what Mitch G has to say about this review
Off topic question. Can one get a scout with an atom 80?
If you can't launch the wind it is probably on you, not the wing. Yes a zeno will be hard to launch, but maybe you shouldn't be flying it either.
Thanks. It looked like it did fly nice, but damn .
