  • It's late October can only mean one thing; off to North Carolina for a deer hunting trip. This is starting to become a tradition at this point. Three hundred and fifteen miles South by Southwest to Daughtridge Farms Outfitters. @sintax77 and I travel down to Rocky Mount North Carolina for 3 days of fun, food, friends, and a nice harvest.
New faces join the trip, Sheriff Jim, from the famous shrimp boils. His friend Gene, and another Sheriff CJ from Bradford County PA. An extra special guest joins us on this one also, my brother Marc appears in a video for the first time. Was great to be there spending time with him. As you could see in that one photo from the late 1970's, we may have changed a little.
The weather was pretty good except for one morning and one afternoon that brought rain showers in. That didn't stop us as we saw many deer during our trip. We passed on at least 10 deer or more hoping for the right one. It's not always about the hunt, but the friends and family that you're there with.
We had some good food along the way as a new cook there, Miss Trude made some fantastic meals for us. Breakfast and the dinners each night were great tasting, and really hit the spot after a long day. Fried chicken , chili, and Pork-chops were top notch. the sides were done up right right also. We all went back for seconds every meal.
Finished up with some drone shots of Daughtridge Farm. Andrew has 13,000 acres that he leases each year, generous bag limits, being helped by your guide at every turn makes it 'vacation' like. Our guides this year, Thomas and Jackson were the best! Thanks to both of you
    .
If your interested in going down for a fantastic time and hunt, here's all the contact information, and don't forget to tell them WhiteRook85 sent you down.

Just returned home a few hours ago. Had a great time as always even with the 80 degree afternoon temps. Think it will be a lot better weather wise when your down there. Didn't stop the deer movement. Saw 50 turkeys one afternoon. We took just 1 five point, but we all passed on does, we also went to management farms 8 and up (at our request a lot). Have fun, good luck, and tell Andrew I said hey!

Hey Tom, I found your channel about 2 months ago and went back to the beginning and watched all your segments in order. This is the first time commenting….Really like your whole approach! Love the focus on camp life in addition to some field footage. I hunted to your east in Monroe County for many years but I live in SC now and my hunting partners have gotten a little too old to keep going. I bought 24 acres in the mountains of SW VA a year ago and I’m building an off grid camp from scratch. Still too much work to do to hunt there this year but I’m looking forward to next year. Good luck to you and the group at camp this year and thanks for a great channel! Take care & stay safe!

Hello Steve, good to hear from you. Glad you're enjoying the channel and videos. I try to make them drama free, and only a tad of politics here and there. Sounds like you are going to have a very nice spot there in VA. Think about some solar when you get to that point, makes life a lot easier and quiet. Thanks again for the kind words about the channel!

Lovely hunting trip with friends and family. I can see why you like to head down there. Congrats on the nice 7pt southern buck with your 6.5. Is that first with the Creedmoor ? I hope Eric can make it for the PA hunt. We are all rooting for him. Great video as always enabling the viewer to get a good feel on how the hunt transpired. Looking forward now to the PA cabin vid. Take care and until next time RITPS !

Hello Ian, good too hear from you, hope all is well with you and yours. It's a nice relaxing time, not really too much too worry about since they do most things you would have to do yourself at camp. Yes that was the first with the 6.5, didn't go far at all. I asked Thomas about the internals, said they were pretty disrupted to put it in kind words. Will see about Eric, could be;" PA Deer Camp 2022 - Man down!" That heavy 6pt was very tempting, but returning a favor only builds better relationships. I even think Thomas got into the RITPs without even realizing it. Take care!!

Hi Tom. Great videos! I just watched your NC video and had a quick question: Is there a limit on how many deer or what sex etc at 'the farm'. I dont see any information about that on their website

There are some 'rules' but they are fairly loose. Overall you can take 2 bucks and 2 doe while you are there. Some management farms they only want you to take large 6s or 8s and no doe. But that is really up to you if you want them to take you to those location. Hope that helps!

yes, screw them dogs. Very annoying when a pack of them run through private property in a county that doesn't even allow dog hunting. The dogs don't know the boundaries, but their owners do, and I understand them radiotelemetry collars are very expensive and sometimes when they come up damaged or missing them dogs seem to trespass a lot less (so I heard) Beautiful fall colors. @@pitbull8300 I have no problem filling my tags and getting my target buck/bucks every year without the use of them malnutritioned abused dogs running through my property, I have gotten the police and the game wardens involved many times, so I am well aware of my rights as a landowner, The sorry brown and its down dog owners have little to no respect for us real hunters, Any dog hunters reading this and need hunting lessons without the use of those mangy dogs I will gladly teach you how to hunt, And BTW them dogs that are 10 miles from where they are supposed to be tells me several things. 1) you have zero control of your animals so you should not own them and 2) they are probably that far away because they are trying to escape years of abuse living 8 months of every year on a 10-foot chain with a 55-gallon drum on its side as their doghouse,

@@misterp158 as someone who has dog hunted and owned and raised many hunting dogs. You obviously have been around some scum hunters. Cause I treated my dogs like family. They were never starved or anything of that matter. Have you ever tried dog hunting? As an avid still hunter and someone who has dog hunted before. I can assure you that dog hunting is 10 times harder than still hunting. Why not try getting along with your fellow hunters? The guys that used to hunt around the dog club I was in. We’d call them and tel them when we we’re running a nice one and multiple times. They’d end up killing the buck. We didn’t care who shot it, it’s all about fun.
