Great video! It's a great case of system preferences, because I think Fiore's version of crown (Posta Frontale) is really useful in his system, especially if you're trying to close to grappling etc. It's a great "catch all" parry for anything coming to your upper left quadrant, and it's pretty close to the body. Also because of the vertical nature you can be almost guaranteed to get your strong on their sword. Your options there are a bit limited, admittedly, if you're trying to stay fencing. But if you consider moving into grappling it gives quite a few options, then. Plus I find decent success with it against some quick schielhau that folks in my club like to throw :D And I know you're not poo-pooing crown here.
Crown is a great tool, so I certainly want people to know it. All purpose defence and yes, good for getting close and grappling, pommel strikes, fun things like that! Of course we train to overcome crown blocks:posta frontale so other options are needed in the tool box.
Thank you! Glad you liked it! I have been to a Medieval tourney and a faire here and there, but never in costume or anything. Maybe I should change that!
@@LaurenDangerShaw I always attend the fairs in medieval or pirate garb, I carry LARP weapons so I can sword fight with the kids ,I always let them win. You would be perfect for something like that.
great limerick at the start!
nice break down of the defenses, makes a lot of sense
Thank you! Point forward is always better than point up, allows for a quicker counter.

@@sharksenchantedtavern6833 Aww that would be fun! Although I can't let the kids win if I do that. They have to earn it!
