Witnessing Lonerism live @ Desert Daze was a dream that I never thought for a second would come true, that collection of songs is my favorite of all time. Very grateful I got to go.
Beautiful video! I just watched the performance of Lonerism in its entirety at Desert Daze in California, and it was amazing. Even though Tame Impala is wildly popular, his music themes (especially in Lonerism) just feel so personal, like it was meant for me/people like me. I'm glad we can all resonate with this music. :)
it was only really after currents that he hit the mainstream, around lonerism the dude was real small, remember seeing him in a small room with 200 cap. so cool that his music means so much to a lot of people now! thanks so much for watching 💗
Can't tell you how many times I've listened to my vinyl copy!! Very important album in my formative years, and I know it was/is just as important fr yourself! This was THE album that got my interest in synthesisers and I can't thank it enough for that!
Same here man. I feel like it really solidified my love in creating music and also soundscapes. Seen him(and the band) live twice now. They only keep getting better.
Man you couldn't have said it better. So much of his music means everything to me, every album I listen to I can exactly go back to how I was feeling at the time of first hearing it, which Is made easier by the following. In a way I feel like Kevin's life, or at least the emotions brough up in each record, are running parallel to my life. Innerspeaker - many lyrics are word for word my life experience, but haven't been able to put it to words until then. Lonerism - Even more relatable at the time. Currents - Again.... Slow Rush - And again..... Also seeing them on tour just last month here in Copenhagen, they paid "Runaway, Houses, City, Clouds"... I couldn't believe it...
I saw Kevin at Desert Daze and it was absolutely the best experience of my life, first time seeing him to. I got to hear him do sound check in the morning becuase I camped there. he expanded keep on lying and it was so beautiful the whole performance was otherworldy, I waited most of the day at the stage to make sure i was in frount haha.
Lately I've been listening to Half Full Glass of Wine the most. Slow Rush has gotta take the cake for me though. Came out the day before I turned 29, and the One More Year thing seemed really personal to me.
I've seen Tame Impala three times...twice in San Francisco (Outside Lands Festival and Fillmore) and once in Oakland. I love many songs from Lonerism. Not sure if you've noticed the Yer Blues solo influence on the loud part of the solo in Keep On Lying. I gotta say though, my favorite Tame Impala song is New Person Same Old Mistakes. I was going through some stuff when I really got into that song and now everytime I hear it, a feeling of nostalgia kicks in.
ah would love to see them out there! think we've seen them 11 times between us. my fave time was 2014 in oxford, just before lonerism went big, so the crowd was in the hundreds not thousands & i got to the front! i know around innerspeaker & before that with the debut ep kev was into a lot of blues & 70s rock so will have to check it out! tame has been with me from teens to adulthood, helped me immensely with that transition :)

@@jeremiahbayani184 oh didn't realise thanks for the clarification! i'll have to admit i don't know the beatles full discography, still need to get around to getting it all on cd or vinyl :)
you need to! try earlier stuff (debut ep) for blues/70s rock infused riffs ('elephant' too for that) innerspeaker for lofi psych lonerism for pure perfection currents & the slow rush for big 70s/80s vibes/synths
A lot of Tame Impalas music you need to rest with and take in. You notice all the layering and effects after a while and the concepts between the imagery and lyrics and then you start to appreciate it
