Ha ha! That’s great! We’ve been back twice since I made this video - great area. My niece does river / lake cleanups with The Catawba Riverkeepers. Check them out - might be a cool thing to participate in!
You 1000% made my day! Great to meet you - wish we had one more day there and could have sat & talked more. Safe travels & good luck with the big pups!
Isn't it incredible to see wildlife where you "live?" And boy, do you look WARM! LOL (I'm in the PNW on a very snowy and cold lake.) Lake Wateree is beautiful. Thanks for the video!
Yes! I came across an eastern indigo snake (endangered) slithering up a tree and in to a hole in a tree yesterday!! Was so cool and I do *not* like snakes. Yeah - Wateree was a great spot! More SC & GA when I find time to edit. I’m in shorts & a tank top in 78 Georgia and I watch weather in several areas - your area being one. Stay warm!
We had people around us, as we had a prime lakeside site & there were a few other areas with little piles of RVs - almost like little planned communities. Maybe something with their reservation system… it was a great spot!
That looks like a great place to camp. Very attractive. Yes, that lack of cell service is a bummer. So many of our state parks here in Texas have that issue too, at least in many we’ve camped in.
It was great! But yes, we do like to have service... luckily I could find in off and on. I would still go back here :) If you have any favorites in TX, let us know - we will probably be driving through in the next year!
I highly recommend Palo Duro Canyon State Park (you can get a cell signal up by the visitor center but not down in the canyon where the campgrounds are), nearby Caprock Canyons State Park, and if you want to be on the Gulf, there are a few like Galveston Island State Park (the city of Galveston is a must see), Mustang Island State Park and Sea Rim State Park. There are also a multitude of decent state parks centered around a lake with the typical CCC buildings. If you spend more than a few nights during a year in the state parks, an annual pass will save you a lot of money. I think it’s still $75 and with it everyone in your vehicle gets in free and if you camp two consecutive nights in a particular park the second night is half price. Considering there are daily entry fees for everyone that pass pays for itself within several days. Hope you get a chance to visit. Remember it gets really hot during the summer here so I would recommend visiting Palo Duro and Caprock Canyons in the spring or fall. Happy travels.
@@gailrobinson7125 oh wow - thanks for all of the info! I have a notebook divided by state for ideas & recommendations - am adding this to my Texas section. Thank you so much!
Hey Heather , do y'all tow the new TT with a weight distribution hitch , if so which one ? My wife and I were your neighbors with the little dashaund that wanted to play with your pup .....we just bought a xls17mke as well.
Oh wow - hi! And oh wow on buying the 17MKE! That is so awesome! I hope you will be as happy with it as we are. Yes, we do use a WDH - we have a Fastway E2 Round Bar Hitch - 600 lb hitch. Our dog just met a little dachshund tonight and did really well with him. She’s still an immature as ever though 🙄 Congrats on your trailer & stay in touch!
We did notice alot of sway coming home from big trucks flying by so we may invest in a wdh but theirs so many to choose from .... 600 lb , 1000 , 1200 lb etc.
@@bsdbsd4400 we had the bars leftover from our Rpod and this seems to be fine with this trailer. We had big head winds yesterday and when semis passed us it still shook us. If either of you are in the Imagine 17MKE Facebook group, there maybe a thread about this in there. Or go with what GD suggests. Definitely get one! I’m hoping to do a “90 day update” video soon to go over things. We’ve only had a few minor things and we’ve obviously used it a lot!
Thanks for stopping by! For another great park, check out: ua-cam.com/video/1GbcEPAwvoc/v-deo.html
We ended up buying a house on Lake Wateree after camping there one time. Literally called a realtor while we were camping. Such a great place!

Reminds me of the Mississippi state parks.
We’ve only been to a couple of state parks in Mississippi - both nice! I think I have one booked in a week as we head to Texas for the eclipse!
Thanks for sharing this video, interesting and beautiful scenery, this is nice 👍
Thanks for watching Mark! This was certainly a pretty place!
Peaceful :o) Happy New Year.
It was very peaceful and beautiful! Happy New Year John!
Looks like you had the place to yourselves, very nice!

What an awesome camp ground with that lake view!
It was! South Carolina has some gorgeous lake campgrounds! We will visit again in the spring maybe :)
And visit our friends in North Myrtle Beach!

Are there gators?
We did not see any - best to ask the ranger there. We sure saw a lot in Florida this year: ua-cam.com/video/RZq19O0HA64/v-deo.html
I live across the street 🤓
Oh and yes cell service is non existent out here
What a fabulous place to live!
You're so lucky!
