When Marcus asked if the contract was open, or exclusive, open means open to everyone, exclusive means only one person. Marcus took the job when he found out it was open to watch John.

When John Wick asked Francis (WWE Kevin Nash) if he had lost weight, and he answered 20 kilograms and John converted it to pounds which about 60. He was telling John there were that many guards. The pitbull he took was scheduled to be put down, that's why he took him.

When John stabbed Viggo in the neck, he actually went behind the collarbone and severed his subclavian artery. When this happens, the blood drains into your lungs. You essentially drown in your own blood. Brutal way to die.

And absolutely impossible to prevent from being lethal. No surgeon, no matter how fast, even if the patient was stabbed right there in the operating room, already on the table, under anesthesia, prepped for surgery, can stop the bleeding before it kills you.
How Brutus is shown to stab Caesar in many examples of Shakespeare's play. Showing Julius mercy by delivering a blow that won't take hours to kill him, unlike the others who stab at his gut or back.

That’s not true at all. The first one has better acted scenes and writing than 2 and especially 3, the only aspect that improved with each new movie was the cinematography and choreography but not the acting and writing.
      My ranking would be:
      4 (8.5/10)

The dog wasn't just a pet, it was supposed to represent John having a normal life but when they killed the dog, they took away his one chance of happiness.

John just wanted Josef dead so he Did miss those shots, however that was because Josef was a moving target behind thick glass which throws the bullet off its trajectory.
That's why you see snipers behind glass often blowing the window up right before they take their shot.
Marcus' warning shot was at a stationary target behind what appears to be thinner glass. Also, obviously, Marcus had an actual sniper rifle while John had a handgun

@@MJoy4Fun Well he had plenty of chances to bridge the gap by sprinting, yet he chose to stalk his prey. Even in the end he just calmly walked up and shot Yosef. And he also had a direct shot at Yosef (in the bath house), but instead headshot the guy he was on top of while staring at Yosef. I'd say those were definite "playing with your food "moments.

Actually first it was Bill &Ted, then it was Speed, then it was The Matrix and then John Wick.
Obviously he's done loads of other films inbetween all these but these are the most well known and the biggest game changers at particular stages of his career but of course there's many others he's done that I prefer to some of these. Bill&Ted turned into a big franchise he made the first 2 near the start of his filmmaking career (also Point Break but for me that was discovered after Speed by many people even though it was made 3 years earlier but the director considered him for Speed after many actors turned it down and he wouldn't have even had a shout to be in Speed if Speed director hadn't seen him in PointBreak. Speed was still his first serious lead role in an action film they did doubt before then that he wasn't a big enough action star or star in general for the role but not after it (he shared lead with Swayze in PointBreak but he still had a sort of Ted from Bill&Ted persona in PointBreak).
Speed sent his career in very good path where he could choose what he wanted to star in (could afford to refuse to be in the bad sequel, worked with Al Pacino instead that year) The Matrix was massive and JohnWick is a new generation of that type of genre after doing a wide range of other types of films inbetween which I enjoyed 1 being TheLakeHouse that's just 1 out of loads & he was in some good comedies I.e with Jack Nicholson and Keanu himself liked Constantine and I'm sure many others did it wasn't really for me and JohnWick I also don't like as much as a lot of his other stuff but it's the closest thing he's done to TheMatrix and there was 15 years inbetween the first Matrix & first JohnWick so he gave him another massive franchise of that genre that he made many sequels from as well and as you said had a new generation of fans who know him mostly for that which seems crazy to me he's been in so many things that you can't really say he's mostly known for 1 particular thing like many other A listers who've been A listers for at least 30 years.

The director of this movie was Keanus double in the matrix trilogy and also Brandon Lee double for the movie The Crow, which by the way is based on a comic book, its a absolutely fantastic film. Sadly it was the movie that Brandon Lee lost his life on when a stunt went wrong and he was shot. Absolutley tragic so his double finished the film with Brandon super imposed on to him. Truly tragic taken too soon like his father Bruce Lee who also died while making a movie.

MJoy4Fun, you might have missed quite a bit with the russian subtitles missing from the film.
Definitely try watching it again with those included, and you'll get it a lot better :)
For example, when Iosef talks russian to John at the beginning in the car, he's saying "everything's got a price, bi**h" then John replies: "not this bi**h"
(I bleeped out the words, but you get it)
I think the russian was automatically played on mine, maybe changes with regions? :/

oh really? haha didn't know that
that makes more sense why he pissed that Iosef more

@@MJoy4Fun the whole film has these little subtitles and translations in it. Maybe all the films, they definitely give more perspective.
Hope you enjoy the fresh insight when you next watch it 😁

There is a horrible, little detail in the opening scenes with John Wick's wife, when she is in the hospital. You see how short her hair is, after seeing is so long, in the previous scene. The presumption is that she dies of cancer, and lost her hair from the treatments. When in the hospital bed it is at least an inch long. I would think that meant that she was determined to be terminal, and she opted to stop treatments, and how much her hair regrew is an indication of how long she lived and suffered afterwards. That hair growth looks like 1-2 months. Who knows how long she was being treated

There, is a John Wick Fan theory that John Wick's wife was likely Winston's Daughter that is why he would always keep John appraised of situations against him.

That seems like a stretch. Winston has never said anything that would remotely suggest that
