When Kyle told Sara about the picture and that she seamed just a little sad in the picture, he always wondered what she was thinking about at that moment.
Little did Kyle know that she was thinking about him.

In the book, moments after sending Kyle, John tells his men that Kyle's mission was successful, but that he died completing it. The mere fact that John still exists proves that Kyle fulfilled his destiny.

Yeah, it annoys me when reactors recognise Lance and Bill but not Michael.
James Cameron also directed Aliens two years after The Terminator. Took some of the actors he worked with there.
The Terminator is the movie where Arnold's famous "I'll be back" got started.
The very end where he says theirs a storm coming and she says I know….Then instead of driving away from danger she heads towards the gathering storm. It’s a great foreshadowing of what’s to come. Special effects may not be perfect however Arnold has enough charisma that he can portray himself as a cyborg and just dominate the screen.
He was already a stilted emotionless robot, he just needed to improve his accent a bit and he was perfect for the role :p
1. Linda Hamilton ROCKED. She's really built in T2. Must watch next. You WILL love it. I promise.😎
2. Lance Henriksen/Vukovich and Michael Biehn/Reese also played in Aliens as Bishop and Hicks respectively.
3. The late Bill Paxton is the only actor whose characters have died in The Terminator, Alien and Predator series.
4. If this weren't a movie the ammunition would not have been left on the counter in the gun shop.
5. Ginger's boyfriend Matt must be a lousy lay if she needs her music when they rock and roll.

Either the Theatrical version or the Extended version they will watch, but hoping for the Extended Director's Cut of T2

Also, Lance Henriksen was first in James Cameron's "Piranha II: The Spawning." Cameron orignally wanted him to play the titular character, but the studio suggested Cameron go with Schwarzenegger, due to his impressive physique. They made the right choice, in that regard, and Henriksen still got a role in this and "Aliens," where he basically played a cyborg!
Give Matt some credit! He fought the Terminator, and even caught him off balance when he tackled him! I don't get why the terminator, just didn't punch a hole through him, like he did the pillow and the guy at the beginning? That's why he's known as the "Throwinator" and why he ain't just try and kill her, when he crashed? He was damaged yes... But all he had to do was use his other hand, to punch right through her! Cops wouldn't have been there in time, to stop it. It's a movie I know! But Terminator's are supposed to be precise and calculating.. And after the crash was his best chance!
Kyle didn't just fall in love "with a picture". His appreciation of Sarah's son, and all that she imbued into him, was an integral part of his falling for Sarah.

Also, John surely spoke fondly of his time with his mother during his time with her, prior to her passing. Kyle undoubtedly viewed her as just as much a legend as John. 👍
Which is kinda weird cause in a way John was pushing Kyle to fall in love with her, albeit not on purpose
i dont think so. i believe he has time traveled so much, that he found Sarah as the only female to give birth to a resistance fighter. he traveled into the past and made a baby. it is more of a time loop

35:45. Whoa, that detail that basically Kyle gave Sarah the strategies she taught John. To me that it makes it much more of least the spirit of Kyl ehelped to parent his kid in a way.
It also means that the tactics and survival skills that Kyle teaches Sarah at least in part, gave given to Kyle by John, who was only born because Kyle was sent back through time so he could teach Sarah the skills and also become John Connor's dad.. and we can go in circles here with this Predestination Paradox.
The sequel is great.. but this one right here is an absolute masterpiece

The first one has more edge.
So many people are confused about the eyebrows, and barely anyone notices that his hair also got significantly shorter.
It happened when he jumped through those flames, onto the hood of their car.
You should watch Terminator 2, btw. Best sequel ever made and maybe the best action movie of all time.

@@GarudaLegends, wow. I thought T2 was nowhere near as good. Lack of fear & real danger & a mountain of unexplained things that made no sense put it waaaay below the (almost) unstoppable first....... There was no explanation of a few huge gaffes, btw.
Mjoy noticed things that were not mentioned by other reaction hosts nor by my own observations after 38 years. The fact that John Connor gave Reece a photo of Sarah is key! Then the fact that John Connor would have known that Reece would be his father is telltale! The story now has a reasonable hypothesis to build a future Terminator Suite! Kudos to MJoy4Fun!
A good Bill Paxton movie (he was one of the thugs at the beginning), is called 'A Simple Plan'. It's not often spoken about but I think you'd both enjoy it.
He was also in a 1980 music video "Fish Heads" by Barnes and Barnes.
One of Bill Paxton's movies that is never mentioned and is truly one of his best performances is "One False Move." He plays a small town sheriff in way over his head against some cold blooded assassins. Billy Bob Thornton plays one of the killers.
The movie is shot in a visually stunning film noir style. A really great underrated film.

You have to watch Terminator 2. It's an excellent sequel.
Before Arnold Schwarzenegger was cast as The Terminator, Sylvester Stallone, Mel Gibson, Tom Selleck and Lance Henriksen were considered.
Even OJ Simpson was considered to play the role of the Terminator, but James Cameron changed his mind saying, "He's too much of a nice guy to play the role of a ruthless killer."😳🤦
Bruce Springsteen, Michael O'Keefe, Tommy Lee Jones, Sting, Christopher Reeve, Scott Glenn, and Matt Dillon were considered for Kyle Reese.
Lea Thompson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Jessica Harper, Melissa Sue Anderson, Rosanna Arquette, and Lisa Langolis were considered for Sarah Connor.

You should see the deleted scene at the end when Sarah is being stretchered out of the building and the camera pans up to show the name of the company which is Cyberdyne systems. Plus you see some scientists that find the terminators cpu and conceal it from the cops.

"And, it absolutely will not stop!!! Ever!!! Until you are dead!!!- Reese. Lance Henriksen, the guy who was Bishop in Aliens and a cop in this movie, was in one of my favorite Western shootout movies The Quick and the Dead. Russell Crowe, Sharon Stone, Leonardo Dicaprio and Gene Hackman also star in that movie. It is highly underrated. But, I strongly recommend that anyone watch that movie. Great quickdraw action in it. Bill Paxton (Hudson in Aliens) was also in the great western Tombstone.

There are 3 actors that are in both Aliens and Terminator.
Michael Biehn is the actor who plays the marine named Dwayne Hicks in Aliens. He flirts a bit with Ripley at times, and also agrees with her that they should take off and nuke the whole place from space, because it is the only way to be sure. Biehn played Kyle Reese, Sarah's protector from the future, in Terminator; in Terminator, we learn that Reese was John Connor's father.
Then there is Lance Henriksen, who in Aliens plays the android named Bishop (who does much better for humans than his counterpart, Ash, did in the original Alien!). In Terminator, Henriksen plays a police detective named Ed. Other than the line said to him, "Ed, shut up", I am not sure how to describe him, except he was white and his boss was black, and they both worked in the police station in Lt. Traxlwer's office (both of them - and many other officers - are later killed by the Terminator).
Then there is Bill Paxton. In Aliens, Paxton is the marine named Hudson, who had Bishop doing the fast-knife-stabbing-between-fingers early on, and later Hudson freaks out a few times ("Game over man, Game over!"). In Terminator, Paxton was one of the three punks that the Terminator encounters early on, when he was naked and needed clothes: Paxton was the leader of the punks and he had blue, spikey hair.
And relatedly ... there is Jenette Goldstein, who plays the tough female marine, Vasquez, in Aliens. In Terminator 2 (not in Terminator), she plays John Connor's foster mother ("She's not my mom, Todd"), who gets copied by the liquid-metal Terminator and talks on the phone to John.

Watch the Terminator 2 director's extended version, it is long and a lot of interesting things have been added, lasting 2 hours 36 minutes 8 seconds.

I am glad you’re reacting to Terminator! I am also excited because that usually means you may react to Terminator 2 which is my favorite! If you get a chance I hope you react to some dramatic movies like: “Powder”, “Silence”, “Labyrinth”, “Bicentennial Man”, “Meet Joe Black”, and “Michael”.

I first saw this in a movie theater in Las Vegas in 1984, There were long lines, and the theater was packed!
This is an absolute classic and you are right.. it is a must watch for any fans of movies. For me, just like with the ALIEN movies, the first two movies are all that is necessary. The first two TERMINATOR movies are that is needed as well. This one and T2: Judgment Day. That's it.
The terminator in the future scene is Franco Columbu, who is Arnold's bodybuilding friend. He was also in several other movies as a stuntman(Conan the barbarian, Red Sonja, Last Action Hero)

One cool little detail is when Kyle puts the bomb in terminators waist. Terminator goes to grab it with his left hand, and notice when he’s crawling after Sarah his left hand is just a nub. Somehow I only noticed that a few years ago

One of the reasons Bill Paxton is in so many James Cameron films is, is because they were roommates back in college.

Despite Skynet's planned obsolescence for the T-800, it carries on successfully against not one but two more advanced models. Hugely underrated terminator model.

T2 is definitely NOT better. It's well made, but was a prime example of where more is a LOT less. Alien is also better than Aliens, but there's a hair in that one......

@@SC-gp7kt, a tweak in the opening narrative to explain some of the things that happened would have ironed out some or all of the inconsistencies. Sadly it became about making money, not storytelling. It was also never really scary or inescapable.
T2 is an all time great ACTION. this is PURE HORROR. so I prefer the original
Im with Joy and lots of people didn't have TVs or just had cart Blanche to watch whenever they want like now. We had one 13" TV as a kid and our parents didn't let us watch the idiot box all day every day. It was limited time and this movie wasn't on TV as fast as movies are now. I'm on team Joy one of many reasons she is so intelligent (along with Marion) is not feeding your brain TV all day every day.

The Terminator was a low-budget film which was a big hit. Director James Cameron was just starting out. (Of course he went on to become the director of some of the biggest movies of all time). Aliens came 2 years later & yes, he hired some of the actors from Terminator...loyal to the actors who helped him get his start.

Hi guys, it's great you've seen this sci fi classic :) Please react to its awesome sequel Terminator 2: Judgement Day as soon as possible! Great channel, I'm subscribed to it amd I love your reactions.
Go watch the deleted scenes - there are two delete scenes involving the police station - when Kyle is ranting about the Terminator, everyone doesn't believe him...except the LT - with the LT believing him and then getting shot, Kyle and Sarah run into him as he is dying....he ends up giving Kyle the keys to his car and a weapon I think. Such an important little piece that was deleted from the movie for some odd reason.

So, fan theory time, none of this is official: Aline, Predator, Commando, and The Terminator all exist in the same universe. The events of Predator happen, the lone survivor retires to live in the mountains/woods with his daughter leading to the events of Commando. The AI finds that this man is so impressive they design their Terminator after him.
Lt Traxler is played by Paul Winfield, who also played Captain Terrell in Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan. If you haven't reacted to that film, you really should :)

Hilarious fact - Kyle Reese is 20 years (or so) YOUNGER than his own son, by chronological time of John and Kyle in the future just prior to the sending Kyle back in time.
After this you both gotta watch T2 next (extended version) on your future watchlist

THE TERMINATOR was a low budget movie no major film company would touch it. But after it was a gigantic success they bent over backwards for the distribution rights.
At 25:25, John Connor is singing in his head the ol' songs, "I'm My Own Grandpa" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 and "(I Wanna) Ride The Tiger" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 ...
However, about some of your questions & comments. In the tapes she was making at the end, Sarah told John that his father, Kyle, would die BEFORE the war, and he gave him a picture so Kyle would be able to recognize her, and he did that early enough (i.e. Kyle had it long enough) that Kyle even fell in love with her. I wonder if he knew that Kyle was going to be his daddy, and that's why he picked Kyle in the first place. Anyway, great reaction.

You are the first reactors to mention the Terminator's eyes. Logically you would keep shooting at the eyes and neck until it's eyes were destroyed or you severed its head then game over.
This film is so much like a slasher film,it's ridiculous.Then you throw in time travel & sci-fi elements.

While many people were considered for the role of The Terminator James Cameron early on strongly considered Lance Henriksen for the part. Henriksen, physically, would've made more sense. In a post-apocalyptic world where humans are starving and eating rats for food, it's highly unlikely many muscular, fit, and seemingly well-fed humans would be running around. Henriksen's lean frame would've made him the perfect infiltration unit. But hey, it's Arnold, and he unequivocally was, is, and always will be, The Terminator.
This was such an entertaining movie, and a perfect part for Arnold's acting.
