This is reminding me of the girl who came to America for heart and lung transplant surgery because her country "doesn't do those surgeries". The doctors messed up and gave her organs with the wrong blood type. She needed a 2nd surgery, but she didn't make it. American tax payers were outraged that she was even allowed a 2nd surgery because she was from Mexico. From what I understand, her family had insurance that paid for a good chunk, the family paid out of their own pockets, and donations covered what was left. They pointed out that immigrants (legal and illegal) and tourists to America have their organs donated when they die, even if it was against their beliefs. We condemn them for coming here for one reason or another, yet we go to their countries for cheaper health and dental care. My own cousin went to Mexico for dental care because she could pay $200 dollars there, compared to $800 here. Even those who were brought here via human trafficking are condemned for being kidnapped and sold. Even if they were only 4 years old.
Why calling the immigration without consulting the doctors? Some people are heartless. Protecting the hospital from what? If you cannot protect a humanbeing than your place cannot be at a place where humanbeings 's lives are being saved.

Many people in America are pretty heartless when it comes to immigrants. Even a lot of liberals will pay lip service to immigrants and say we need to treat them better, but still say "we need secure borders and border security" and think ICE is somehow necessary. As with the homeless, America has a real moral problem when it comes to how we look at immigrants. There are those who see the full truth-both the plight of immigrants AND the lack of necessity for these strict border policies-but sadly they're in the minority.
