Thanks for using my comment 😀 I do like the stock bike a bit more. I do love some of the parts like the headlight grill, ohlins shocks and those exhaust cones look great! I’ve ridden on those Pirelli tyres a few times on the Ducati scrambler icon and scrambler 1100. And I liked it. Great feeling. Alot of grip. Good in rainy conditions too. Will look good on your street twin think😉
Haha they might be my next choice. I’d agree on the cones for sure - kindof wish I’d bought those for my ST but I got such a good deal on the V&H that I couldn’t resist
I like the Speed Twin as well as the Scrambler 900. The 900 is underwhelming in power and with only 5 gears. The Scrambler 1200 XC/XE are not really in my taste as I would prefer something lower and better for the city. There should be an option for the Speed Twin to change the wheels to spoked ones (19" front | 17" rear) and a scrambler high exhaust as they did for the Street Twin. Improve the suspension as most would do anyways and you have a winner combination. Just my 2 cents.
Looks great, a nice traditional British twin. I love the way Triumph hide the water cooling. I would leave the side panels black and replace the red with a nice 60s Triumph blue. Price is a bit steep though!
Hey MOTOBOBJust a quick note to let you know that I am really enjoying your videos - especially the last few.... keep up the good work mate. Nicely filmed and edited.....
Thanks Keith. I’ve changed tack a little to focus on the walkrounds because o don’t have much time for road trips or spending hours up at the garage as I want to make the most of our family time at the weekend. These videos are good for me because I can shoot them, research, voiceover and edit in the evenings when the little one has gone to bed. So I’m really glad you’re enjoying them as it’s always a bit of a leap when you make a big change to the channel
I’d agree with you 💯 pc about the side panels remaining black. Ok the Ohlins on any of the Triumph heritage range is gonna be an improvement (but not necessarily in gold). The grey grips are out of place and the gold chain is overkilled gold on the bottom half of the bike. It’s all a moot point as making a “tracker” out of the new Speed was a mistake! I think Triumph nailed it with the oem. You want a tracker then start with a scrambler! Definitely not £3500 worth of extras or more importantly worth of talent. Leave the mechanics in the garage to service the bikes and let the creative thinking guys do the design work! 👍🏻
Stock bike looks better. The metal flakes in the paint on the standard version, give it a beautiful finish, way cooler than this plain white combined with that awful red. Tastes are subjective, I know, but when you do a custom, make sure it looks better than the original, not worse!
It looks great. I give it a 8. However for me, a bit smaller headlight, front forks off the SE, and try matching the golds. and a bit more rear fender left., mirrors off end of handle bars low. Possible a dark jaguar green tank, etc….Simple….I may do it. Thanks for your vids. 🇺🇸
I’m with you regarding black paint on a Twin but the bike does look alright and a bit special here with the colour scheme but I think black and gold on this bike would look superb wouldn’t it?
Hey, Do you know exactly which ohlins you used and did you do anything to the front? Stock suspension is fine on smoother roads, but pretty jarring over bumps.
Not overly keen on the colour choice, looks like a ducati desert sled tip off...I think the gold wheels with the standard grey Speed Twin would look amazing. Throw on the Ohlins etc. and gold triumph logo on the tank. Job done. Agree with above on the tyres, look silly and lose grip... id buy a standard 1 over this tbh.
Bohemoth The Pirelli MT 60’s are fantastic tires, and the basic design has been around for a long time- they were even standard on the first gen. KTM Duke in the mid 90s. They’ve been used for flat-track racing, and supermoto- a great tire in the wet, too. While they look “dirt bike-y” they’re really not. I’d pick them any time over the Pirelli Phantoms- particularly in the wet.
Hi Brother really need your guidance. I m looking to put The handlebar in my Triump speed twin. I have seen that the wire of clutch is little short I wanted your advice can I change the wire with the Triump scrambler 1200 because it has a bigger wire than the Triump speed twin. please advise.
I’ve got a gold chain waiting to go on mine but I’m gonna prob wait a month or two until there’s definitely no more salt on the road. A few folks aren’t keen on the price... where are the cones from? Assume they add a bit to the price, then the shocks and paint
I got mine from square deals, they were £240 but that was for the ST, maybe more for the 1200 version. Personally I don't think they have improved the looks from stock, but the extra spec will appeal to someone. I've been thinking of gold chaining the Thruxton for some extra bling bling! 😎@@motobob
This looks brilliant. And the paint job looks just right. The price is way too high compared to the stock bike, though. 3.5K for a paint job and better suspension. 2K would have been enough.
I guess it's the ohlins and the shorty exhausts that account for a lot of that, then the paint job. Assume they charge for the labour too. They had some nice other customs on show around the showroom - will potentially go back another day to shoot some more.
Sorry, I just dont see £3500 there. I think painting the side panels is a real own goal, makes the bike look bulbous and clumsy. Leave them black the would be far less obtrusive and the machine appear more svelte. Subjective of course, but the paint job, whilst it appears well done, just not for me. Nice video tho', much appreciated.
Cheers Chris. I guess the whole point of custom bikes is to take something that a lot of people own and make it unique and to your own tastes, so it’s bound not to be for everyone. And a lot of bikes, mine included, follow a bit of a formula at the moment so it’s always good to see something a bit different. But I agree with a lot of what you’re saying with regards to my tastes too
What a stunning piece of kit. Subtlety trick with some nice parts to catch the eye. Loved the paint job and thought the side panels really added to a sporty look. Tempted to px my Thruxton R for it? Naah!
I want somebody to go rusty and crusty with this bike. It's beautiful from the factory but it's got endless potential. Not a fan of the one in the vid but to each their own...
I like it, but I’d get a stock one and spend the £3500 I’d saved and customise it how I wanted. But I like to get my dirty, so I’d always lean towards doing the work myself.
Sort of like a good looking woman with a little too much make up. Still nice but I liked the stock look more. Better yet I would like to see the black tank with traditional Triumph scallops.
Great vid as usual! I'll give the bike 7.5 out of 10. Not really feeling the coulor, I think a company like Down and Out could do alot better of a custom job, obviously triumph have only done what they could with the time they had... Just my opinion is all 🤔🤔
Yeah - D&O are pretty awesome. Also a big fan of deBolex, but some of my favourite custom triumphs are by Zeus in Thailand. Def recommend having a look at their site if you’ve not seen them
splodge 57 There are more & more spoked wheels that are tubeless. Probably not the first, but BMW has had tubeless spoked wheels on different R models (like the G/S, f. ex.) for a very long time- maybe 2002 or so. If you want to see some tasty tubeless spoked wheels that fit some Triumphs, check out Alpina...
I am not going to rate the bike, because someone put a lot of work and thought into it, but, I was not the target demographic they were building it for. I would take your Street Twin over that all day for pure aesthetics.
Baffles removed from the pipes. Looks a bit pretty for semi off roader. Something more rugged and not so flash. Good chance a bike like that is going to get damage in a drop.
I prefer the stock bike colours. I'd like to see a white and blue scheme that's been on some T120s, or even a plain dark metallic red without the black stripe. The side panels almost makes me go into convulsions , bucket please ! £3500 wasted. Mind you some people pay thousands for canvas an "artist" has just thrown paint at it, so there's no accounting for taste .
Not a fan of the color scheme but like the ohlins. Price is a bit ridiculous. I can get a stock 2018 here in LA brand new for $8500 OTD. 6/10 is my rating.
The little peanut tank and headlight off the Street Twin plus its larger fenders would give the Speed Twin an enduro look. Throwing tires and a cheap paint job at it is lame.
I believe it’s the air intakes. With louder exhausts than stock you don’t really notice it. Some triumph owners actually like it cos it’s distinctively a triumph
The paint job is frankly awful as are the graphics which look cheap … compared to the original bike I don't see how anyone can see this as an improvement !
Definatly plain black is better, all them colours 🤷♂️🤷♂️ just too much going on, doesn’t do the bike justice.....no wonder the sprayer knocked it out in a day he probley was pissed off with his paint job!! 🤣🤣🤣 as the other guy said it looks too bulbus 👎🏻
Seriously, who on earth is this sort of thing aimed at and who would waste their money on it? A retro looking bike, predominantly built by robots in Thailand, tarted up with gimmicky stuff like off-road tyres and a headlight grill. Is this really the direction that motorcycling is heading in?
oi afew spray jobs here and there now sprape that black paint off engine buff it up just like the old english bikes dont be so lazy do it to next bike i will award you then a 10 out of 10 nice styling to these new bikes but to much black oh someone going to call me racesist now oh ffs
The perfect mesh of the thruxton, bonneville, and scrambler. I love those tires!
Thanks for using my comment 😀 I do like the stock bike a bit more. I do love some of the parts like the headlight grill, ohlins shocks and those exhaust cones look great! Personally think the stock bike looks better. I think it’s the paint job that puts me off this one.
Looks great, a nice traditional British twin. I love the way Triumph hide the water cooling. I would leave the side panels black and replace the red with a nice 60s Triumph blue. Price is a bit steep though!
Yeah I love the hidden water cooling too - such a neat job. Same for the catalyser
Hey MOTOBOBJust a quick note to let you know that I am really enjoying your videos - especially the last few.... keep up the good work mate. Nicely filmed and edited.....

I think it's beautiful, very 70's drag racer, 9 out of 10
Gorgeous looking bike

I’m with you regarding black paint on a Twin but the bike does look alright and a bit special here with the colour scheme but I think black and gold on this bike would look superb wouldn’t it?
I was chatting to someone last night who thought those black rims might look good with black paint. I'd agree too!
Hey, Do you know exactly which ohlins you used and did you do anything to the front? Stock suspension is fine on smoother roads, but pretty jarring over bumps.
Good looking bikes..what headlight grill from triumph is that?
I think it’s from the street scrambler
Not overly keen on the colour choice, looks like a ducati desert sled tip off...I think the gold wheels with the standard grey Speed Twin would look amazing. GOLD CHAINZZZZ I like the gold chain 👍🏻 I've got those cone's on my ST, they sound awesome! I give it 6.5/10 factoring the price.
I’ve got a gold chain waiting to go on mine but I’m gonna prob wait a month or two until there’s definitely no more salt on the road. A few folks aren’t keen on the price... where are the cones from? Assume they add a bit to the price, then the shocks and paint

Bling all the way mate!
Looks good if that’s what your looking for 👍🏻
Yeah it’ll definitely be the right bike for someone. Bit more brash and loud than the stock bike
This looks brilliant. And the paint job looks just right. The price is way too high compared to the stock bike, though. 3.5K for a paint job and better suspension. 2K would have been enough.

The stock looks good
Hard to improve upon an already beautiful bike. Same goes for the 1200 Scrambler for me too - not much you could do to improve it
What a stunning piece of kit. Subtlety trick with some nice parts to catch the eye. Loved the paint job and thought the side panels really added to a sporty look. Tempted to px my Thruxton R for it? Naah!
I like them Ohlins... I wonder if they fit on the street twin?
I like the MT60s - thinking about putting them on mine.
The stocker looks brilliant, and to put offroad tires on a great STREETbike is bull****!
Not off road, actually designed as a wet weather super moto tire. excellent on the street, and it looks tracker.
Can you buy this order is it available to the public to purchase?
thanks bob
My pleasure!
They should have left it alone....the Speed Twin is a pretty impressive bike as standard.
The bike looks awesome with some brilliant color work, however the asking price is bit too much.
Nice conical shape for the end of the muffler.
Heard a few people having issues with the speed twins sit up and beg riding position causing aching backs .
Usually sit up position is a bit easier. Surprised that it’s giving people bother. I found it quite comfortable
Looks very good , might be a bit painful on the wrists though.
Looks good to me
Outstanding work. I'd pay the listed price of £13,000 Brexits for that.
Haha. Nice, I’m going to steal that if you don’t mind.
first sight love
On the positive side it's an easy bike to find at a bike meeting.
I want somebody to go rusty and crusty with this bike. It's beautiful from the factory but it's got endless potential. Not a fan of the one in the vid but to each their own...
What a cool Bike😍!
Based on looks alone, I'd say 6.5 out of ten. Stock it's a 9+, so this build most definitely is no improvement to my eyes. YMMV.
Hi...you have more information from this bike?
Hi, which brand is the exhaust? Any weblink? Thanks
Not for me thanks. Stock with a couple of subtle mods would be far better.
I like it, but I’d get a stock one and spend the £3500 I’d saved and customise it how I wanted. But I like to get my dirty, so I’d always lean towards doing the work myself.
Same!
Yeah, buy stock and customise.
Trying to make a round wheel rounder. Stock is fine, with the 3,500 buy an Interceptor.
Sort of like a good looking woman with a little too much make up. Still nice but I liked the stock look more. Better yet I would like to see the black tank with traditional Triumph scallops.
8.5 😍
Great vid as usual!
I'll give the bike 7.5 out of 10. Not really feeling the coulor,

@@motobob ah yeah! Forgot about Zeus! Yeah I got them on Instagram. 👌👌
Would love to see their take on the Speed Twin for sure!
@@motobob oh yes! I bet they already have plans to 🤔🤔🤔
Nice bike but I personally prefer wire spoked wheels. 7.5 out of 10 for me. Great video, thanks!
No worries - glad you enjoyed it! Spoked wheels would look great on the Speed Twin I agree
Can't beat tubeless tyres. But I do prefer the wheels in black.
splodge 57 There are more & more spoked wheels that are tubeless. That’s a fair point. Maybe I’ll just stick to the ratings for the factory bikes.
Baffles removed from the pipes. Looks a bit pretty for semi off roader. Something more rugged and not so flash. Good chance a bike like that is going to get damage in a drop.
The best mod cost nothing - junking that hunk of plastic hanging off the rear end! I'd buy a korosi red over this scheme for my personal tastes.
Agree on that! Would be the first thing to go were it me
What turn signals are those?
What cones did they use on this bike?
Looks good in my opinion but £3.5k over stock is high.
6 / 10 ... standard bike looks better. I think the std metallic grey is pretty much perfect ... 😎
It’s a bit busy with the white and black stripes. I’d take the plain black tank and spend the difference on a custom tank paint job
ohlns supension, painted wheels, tank and side cover, gold chain, slip on exhaust end..what else ?
I'd say about a 7. Stock bike is about a 9 for me, but this colour was too shouty me thinks.
I dig it 👍👌
Some of it looks good but it's a bit too bling for my taste. Stock bike gets a 9.5. This bike gets a 7.
Yeah it will def appeal to someone looking for a bike that stands out. I just saw on Instagram that it’s been sold already!
Beautiful
You know the prices in Europe?
Afraid not - check the triumph website? The uk pricing is available so Europe should be too
Matt Black Thruxton R. Best in their range.
Stock look is much more appealing...
I know its an old clip now, but does anyone know what exhaust is this?
Weslake shorty
I prefer the stock bike colours. I'd like to see a white and blue scheme that's been on some T120s, or even a plain dark metallic red without the black stripe.
The side panels almost makes me go into convulsions , bucket please !
£3500 wasted. Mind you some people pay thousands for canvas an "artist" has just thrown paint at it, so there's no accounting for taste .
Needs proper old size mudguards.
Did I see you wearing trainers in the snow ?
A bit early for a custom dont ya think?
I think we’ll see a few more soon - it’s a good looking basis for a custom and it’s got the performance too
Nice
8.5 out 10
Dual chain, why?
Not a fan of the color scheme but like the ohlins. Price is a bit ridiculous. I can get a stock 2018 here in LA brand new for $8500 OTD. 6/10 is my rating.
It’s a speed twin, not street twin. I think I said street twin at one point in the video tho...
@@motobob makes sense on the price then.
Expensive.
So many different shades of yellow/gold... doesn't work for me.
Yeah it’s definitely more of a loud and busy bike than the standard, but a I think a lot of people who saw it in the flesh quite liked it
5.5
The little peanut tank and headlight off the Street Twin plus its larger fenders would give the Speed Twin an enduro look. Throwing tires and a cheap paint job at it is lame.
Tacky paint job, please Triumph make the tank a bit cooler ie a better shape, fell off my perch 3500.wtf I think I would buy a Super Duke R instead
Have never seen a bike went ugly with Pirelli MT60
Why do triumphs whistle like that? I've always loved the look of these bikes but the sound is just horrible to me
I believe it’s the air intakes. With louder exhausts than stock you don’t really notice it. Some triumph owners actually like it cos it’s distinctively a triumph

Why do u want to mess retro charm of a stock bike....
This bike: 5/10
Stock: 9/10, if it had alloys looks similar to (Z900RS) I wud give 10/10
They better not be one on the showroom floor when I go to purchase the Speed Twin,It'll leave with me,I like my bitch with a lot of makeup
Seriously, who on earth is this sort of thing aimed at and who would waste their money on it? A retro looking bike, predominantly built by robots in Thailand, tarted up with gimmicky stuff like off-road tyres and a headlight grill. Is this really the direction that motorcycling is heading in?
It’s sold already according to their Instagram
Well MB, that just goes to show that some people will buy anything. That's great news for Chrysler PT Cruiser owners. LOL.
😂
The color is not for me.
Yeah I like the stock black. I’d also love to see this bike with the new ironstone coloured tank from the street twin
3.5k to look worse than the beautiful stock bike!!!
Them colours are foul! Really crap.
oi afew spray jobs here and there now sprape that black paint off engine buff it up just like the old english bikes dont be so lazy do it to next bike i will award you then a 10 out of 10 nice styling to these new bikes but to much black oh someone going to call me racesist now oh ffs
Not worth the extra cash... DIY.
uninspired
The perfect mesh of the thruxton, bonneville, and scrambler. I love those tires!
I like the tyres too - I think they come in street twin sizes. Might be my next choice...
