This mistake in the entertainment business is as old as the industry. For example, Jackie Martling. He jumped on the Stern show train. After a few years, he’s making $500k a year in 1985. No one makes $30k in radio at that time. He decided to bluff “walk” away from the show, he had done it numerous times for a raise of like $20k, but the Stern show finally let him walk. Turns out, he wasn’t important on the show, and Stern was the entire show. Everything to him was about money and trying to get every penny.
